Hey rsn, you went through Seoul? They had free wifi? I just passed through there not even 3 weeks ago and they didn't have it... Might have to get a flight back through there. Free is for me! Haha I am hoping Nan gets her interview in late Aug, early Sept. Should be responding to packet three end of next week.

Congrats to all those with recent approvals, I hope it keeps up.

The embassy just called Chada and asked her to come in tomorrow for the interview. Chada said she could not because she was not ready but she didn't want to miss the chance. The lady told her to come in this Thursday at 1:00pm window #5.

Can you believe this? We went from "we will contact you in the near future with a list for more documents" to scheduling an interview 2 business days later. Oh man we are not prepared for this. I'm not for sure how to pull off getting ready in 2 days...

What is going on????

After reading a lot of your posts I think you guys will be more prepared than you think. I am sure she will do awesome. Good luck, and congrats!!!!

Just got back from the Udon area less than a week ago myself. What part will you have the pleasure of visiting?

We'll be headed to Ko Chang the day after I get into BKK. We'll spend the weekend there, then a week in our home in Chaiyaphum and a week in Nong Khai.

Y'all have to remember that the embassy is hitting that string of lazy days between Songkran and all the extra holidays they get from the official US ones they observe smile.gif That will obviously put a stick in the spokes so to speak. There may also have been an internal issue they're trying to resolve.

Hello Everyone

It has been a while since we last posted but I read the posts almost everyday and it looks like everyone's journey is moving along. All is well with us and we are very happy together.

We received our 2 year Green Card yesterday!!

The biometrics was taken late December and we received a notice in January that our case was transfered to California.
We received AP and EAD in February and Friday April 3 we received the "Welcome to USA" letter and the Green Card showed up Saturday April 4. No interview...My wife is very excited and happy. kicking.gif

Hang in there....sometimes things move very slowly and then you top that hill and coast for a while.

Best of luck to all

Reading this stuff is so disheartening. I wish you all the best of luck though. I am just now starting the process, so hello to all. I am pretty worried about the evidense of ongoing relationship, as we do not email or chat, but text and call. She does the call and hangup as well, so I call back... After reading all this, I am getting a bit worried.

Anyone else out there use Brain Wright? Or if you want to know what I think about him PM me...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Receiving Case
Anyone can correct me if I am wrong...

After your case is approved by your respective service center, they in turn forward it via USPS priority to NVC.

NVC receives many packages every day, so do not fret if it takes a week or more for your case's package to be opened.

After your case has been opened it will be assigned a new tracking number specific to your beneficiaries home country embassy... ex. Bangkok, Thailand Embassy case number would be BNK123456789.

If NVC has not opened your case's package yet, they have not "received" it yet.

Also some cases at NVC are randomly chosen for AP (Administrative Processing) some sit in AP for a couple weeks some sit for months... no rhyme or reason.

After NVC has received your case and assigned a new tracking number you will be notified by mail in a standard letter stating your new case number and instructions on what is going to happen next.

Then you will need to coordinate the rest with your SO in their country... which takes it to packet 3 and all the rest of the fun stuff.

Cheers,

Neil

This sounds kinda snooty, but I have a personal banker that handles all my financials, I just called her up, and she brought a letter with all the pertinent info to my office the same day. Personal bankers rock! She maintains my accounts for me, i.e. keeps my checking at a certain level, and if I have to much she moves it over to savings, which has a higher interest rate, and she also monitors my savings levels, and when I reach a certain point she rings me and puts me into CD's. But she knows I always want a certain amount of liquid cash available for my horrible spending habits... Land rover parts, and parts for my bike... And Nan just quit work so she can prepare for the interview, and organize evidence etc., so she does wires for me as well. Wow I never realized how much that lady does for me.

I just want the next four weeks to be over so I can be with Nan... crying.gif I miss her cooking.

Hello,

Thanks for the April 2009 topic! We are still learning all about this visa stuff.

My name is Doug. My Fiancé Jessie is coming from Vietnam.

If i am reading the statistics right, all us April 2009 filers should have our interview by November? Am I right? This would have us with our loved ones in the USA by the Holidays?!?!?!?!?

What do you guys say?

Doug,

welcome to the April CSC club house. As far as your timeline goes, it is up to you, and your specific embassy. You could be seeing an NOA2 in the coming months, shows you recieved NOA1 on June 11th (usagroom-that makes him illegit in our club, but he did file in april, CSC just took their sweet time. Plus his signature block has Samui, so I vote him in.) After that it depends on your case again as it goes through NVC... Mine was stuck there about a month for additional processing... But most breeze right through. Then it's off to your embassy, and how it depends how fast they work. Some give interview dates quickly, and others not so much. I recommend looking up your embassy, and seeing if they have the packet 3 requirements digitally (BKK did...) And maybe you can begin the process of packet 3 collection now. Depending on all of those variables, it is plausible to have Jessie with you stateside by the holidays... Best of luck to you both!

Your signature says Koh Samui... That is my home away from home. I will be back down there possibly around the same time as you... Drinks are on me if Nan has her visa by then. yes.gif

usagroom ROBOSAURUS rocks! Thanks for the laugh brother. rofl.gif

Hello fellow VJer's,

I just wanted to join the April 2009 K-1 Filers. I submitted the paperwork for my fiance on April 1, it was received on April 14, and I received NOA on April 16. I keep feeling as though I'm missing an important piece of information regarding this entire process because everytime I log on to the U.S. Immigration website to check our online status there has been no change just the same old message "received and pending". This is normal right? I mean it can be months before our package even gets touched right? If anyone has any additional advice for me I'd surely appreciate it. Thank you.

At the moment I am working abroad in Iraq supporting our U.S. Military troops and my contract ends in November 2009, so I'm praying that we will have SOME word of even something before then. The only joy I have about this entire thing is that my job affords me a vacation every 4 months (since I work 7 days a week/12 hours a day) allowing me the opportunity to see my love. I touched him for the first time in person March 2009, and will be going back August 2009. Now if only there was word of some kind of action being taken concerning the status of his Visa it would be wonderful.

Good luck to everyone who's holding on.

--Kemi

Kemi

That status is normal... I have gad my NOA2 for some time now, and mine still says the same thing. But do look for a "last update" change. That is a "touch" on your case, and a good thing. means you might get your NOA2 soon.

Are you familar with the rest of the process? If not read the guides as they help millions...

Best of luck to you.

In other news Nan just called me, she said her paperwork will be done tomorrow, and she will be heading back to Bangkok wednesday. Might get packet three off early next week. Fingers crossed. star_smile.gif

Just a quick rant, and I know I should just keep my mouth shut, because I am so far ahead of you all... But damn these Visa "lawyers"

This is the 4th trip Nan has made to get her birth certificate. She does not live in her home district anymore. She has to take a bus 9-10 hrs north of Bangkok to get this paperwork. Each time she has asked, and I have asked, if any other papers are needed from this office, and the "paralegals" say "No" So this is her 4th trip now, and they told her she needed a different version of her birth certificate and she needed a letter from her district office saying she has never been married before. Each time she has had documents drawn at this office, she goes across the street and faxes them to the legal office and then calls to confirm this is what they need. Each time they said yep it's good, but I guess not. Now she has to wait until Tuesday so she can get the single cert. And her phone gets no reception at her grandmothers house. SO I don't get to call her when I want now, I just get the random hours call when/if she goes into town. Ah.

I also just want them to get this taken care of super quick so we can nail down an interview date. I will be in the middle of moving then, and I am entitled to 30 days of leave... which would be perfect to be wih Nan for the interview, and have her fly back with me, but the way these idiots work, I will be outside my window for leave, and her interview date. Aghhhh! I hate people who can not do what they claim to do. Maybe I'll see her in September... offtopic45vn.gif

Okay sorry for all my complaining. I just hate when people do not do their jobs. I feel better now, kinda'. headbonk.gif

Congrats to everyone on moving down on igors list! Sorry to hear about your delay usagroom. I can't imagine how you feel at this point. You will be with your girls soon. I also enjoyed your quit complaining post, that really was good for a laugh. I wish I llived near you, I would throw you an NOA2 party if I did.

Where is Ken these days? Must be enjoying his time down with his girl.

Glad to see the dresses and hair picture postings have slowed. I almost put up another monster truck picture. no0pb.gif

Goodnight gang.

Anything new and exciting happening for any of you today?

Found out my money will not be coming for another couple weeks, delaying my visit to China and my girls. To say this is disappointing is an understatement. We are crushed. Now 432 days apart. crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

Oh man thats horrible man, hope you get your money quick, so you can get out there! I bet your girls miss you. unsure.gif

usagroom your number is going down on igors list! You may get an NOA2 whislt you are seeing your girls. I got my "touch" when I was with Nan... maybe it will be a common theme for the April group. Good luck. Ken how much longer will you be with Leidys? Will you maybe see a touch while you are down there with her?

So I was thinking about this the other day while putting my engine back into my truck (pictures to follow when she is back on the road.) How many people thought about moving to their SO's country? I almost did. But Nan knew I would not be happy there yet, but after she has spent the next five years with me in Hawaii, we will decide what to do from there. If I opt retire, I will be 40 and collecting a pension, so we might stick around the states for a bit, but we eventually want to go back to Thailand together, and just live off my pension.

So what kept every one from moving out with their SO?

All this talk of weddings and more pictures of dresses...

Okay now I feel better.

Nan wants to do a ceremony in her dads hometown. We are not sure if we are going to do it before or after her visa. We might even wait until after we get to HI get the house taken care of, and then go back for a couple weeks, and do it. As far as the stateside marriage we are only doing the JP at the courthouse so we can file for AOS. I just hope we can get her AP on the way in, so we do not have to wait on that getting approved, to go back to thailand. Ah so much to think about... Back to getting all my junk ready for the movers. helpsmilie.gif

cheers,

Neil

She's awake and they gave her a lot of fluids, and she seems to be doing better now... I can't imagine what would be progressing so quickly... Keeping my fingers crossed that she keeps getting better.
Very good news! kicking.gif Germs/bacteria/etc. can take a person out fast. Fingers and toes and eyes and arms and legs crossed here for her continued recovery.

Update on my girl's mama, she has stabilized and now is just suffering through the normal Hunan summer. 99F yesterday, 100F today, 99F tomorrow. blink.gif

Please take a picture of yourself with your finger toes and eyes and arms and legs crossed. I really want to see that. yes.gif

Glad to hear you lady's mama is getting better. and attaya_girl I hope your future mother in law keeps progressing as well.

Today is spent moving stuff around in prep for the movers... I never realized how much stuff I had. I used to live out of a backpack, now I can furnish a 1200sf home. Where did all this stuff come from. wacko.gif
