K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTypo on I129-F - Social Security Number

We filed on 04/15 (finally underway). Chelsea was looking through the packet she sent and noticed that there is a typo in her SSN on the I129-F.

It's correct on the G325, and the obviously have copies of her passport and birth certificate.

Is this going to be a massive issue? And is there some way for us to fix the typo to avoid an RFE? She lives a fair bit away from the Jackson office, so obviously would prefer not to have to go to the office.

Cheers

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number, a day after NOA1

We received our NOA1 notification on April 18th, yet to receive a notification that the alien registration number has been changed. Should I be concerned? I just see a lot of people saying they received theirs the day of or after, so I'm a little worried.

From experience, I feel it depends on what parts of the UK you travel to seems to reflect on how friendly people are, especially if you're an outsider. He tells me this is pretty much true.

London is is not representative of the rest of the country. But still, having traveled around the UK a bit, there really isn't that big of a difference when you go to places with larger populations. Sure country towns will be different, but country towns always are.

City, you mean country right? It's like everyone's permanently passive aggressive... Heck even our weather is like that!

You could not have said it any better haha

Visit Russia for a few days and you will find yourself longing for England again :).

I have a few Brit friends and they basically tell me they do not care much for our disingenuous "politeness".  They believe it to be completely phony.  While I agree many people could really care less when they ask you "how you are doing" or wish you a "good day", I believe we are in the top 3 when it comes to the "nice factor".  Besides, I would be your best friend if it meant a bigger tip if I were in the service industry and I was basically living on tips ;)

Hahaha Chelsea is a server and she's perfected the "Super Happy Awesome Time!" fake smile. But people in London are far ruder in general than I'm used to, and seem as though they think everyone owes them everything. When you have nearly an entire city like this, it wears you down.

S-CNot TellingUnited Kingdom2014-05-29 02:45:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisiting is bittersweet

On the topic of Australian service people not being friendly, I have never noticed it, but that might be because I am completely used to it. Also, tipping isn't really a thing in Australia (all people get paid at least minimum wage and you generally tip when you are happy with the service), so the quality of service from people doesn't have as big an impact on the worker personally. But I still find most people to be nice. There will always be #######. I am from Brisbane, and having traveled to Sydney a number of times, I can say people in Sydney are just generally ruder.

Regarding negative comments, neither myself or Chelsea have received any thus far. Everyone has been supportive of us, which is lovely, especially our parents and close family. We get weird looks when we tell people how we met (twitter lol) and occasionally I will when get them when I say Chels is 20 (turning 21 in July WHOOP WHOOP) and I'm 30, but I would get them regardless.

All in all, I wouldn't give Chelsea up for anything at all. Is the distance hard? Yes. Do I hate the US process for immigration? With a burning passion. Is there a chance that I may have a breakdown in an airport before this ends? I'm surprised I haven't already. But in the end, when I get off that plane for the last time, and I see her gorgeous face, and I get to hold her and know that I will never be flying away from her for an indeterminate amount of time, it will most definitely be worth it.

While I found England to be absolutely beautiful I would have to agree on the customer service/ general demeanor of the population to be entirely different to home here in the US. I didn't realize how accustomed I am to someone holding a door open until I was there and nearly got smacked in the face with them. People will walk right into you on the sidewalk and they don't seem to find my yes ma'am/sir southern habits to be charming at all. HA. I do like to visit though, but I'm glad that he is coming to live here rather than vice versa.

When he left from his visit last week I stood there crying my eyes out as he went through security and a very sweet woman asked when I would see him again and it broke my heart to say I don't know, because everything is tentative when you're waiting for the visa to process. People ask when our wedding date is and I constantly feel like I'm not taken seriously because I have to say I don't know, hopefully sometime around *insert optimistic date here*. It's rough but it will be worth it in the long run. And I try to focus on the positives and just think I'm seeing new places going to visit him that I probably would not have seen otherwise at this point in my life! And plus, what's the alternative? Give up and let him go. Not a chance!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisiting is bittersweet

I know the feeling. I just got back last Sunday from 9 wonderful days in cold dreary England with my fiancé. (We stayed inside & snuggled most of the time so it's ok) leaving hurt so much. It was amazing seeing him, but I feel like half of me is missing. We talk everyday, but it's not the same. I know one day he'll be here, but not having an actual date to look forward to makes it even harder. I miss him so much. I hope tsc moves faster soon...

I know exactly what you mean. FaceTime, while far better than just texting and talking on the phone, still isn't even close to being with them. I too hope that justice prevails and we all get processed soon.

Sounds like literally the polar opposite of England!

Pretty much is! Only issue is, where I'm from (Brisbane, which is in Queensland) gets extremely humid during summer.

My wife was the same when she spent three months here; she ended up really depressed as it was the dead of winter. I think she got seasonal affective disorder by the end. Either that or some definite vitamin D deficiency. The first time I visited I was just stoked that it was November and I was wearing just a t-shirt.

I went over in August last year and it was still hot. Reminded me of home so much.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisiting is bittersweet

I know exactly what you mean. I last visited in late March/early April and there is nothing more depressing than pulling up to that airport in the bright sunshine, getting on that long #### night-flight over the Atlantic, to have to go to Schiphol and then back over to our cold, grey little island... and when you do land looking around and realising that there's absolutely nothing to this place at all, that you don't belong here anymore.

Just remember what you're working towards and that one day, one of you won't have to leave again. Plus, on the upside, you're applying for a K1 which, as you said in the grand scheme won't keep you apart for too long. I'm more than likely gonna have to see out one more English winter before I get to live out my days in the Texan sun with my wife.

The weather was so perfect and we always have an amazing time when we're together. It's a real downer coming back to London. I'm from Australia, and I really did not anticipate how much I would miss the sunshine and hot weather and beaches.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisiting is bittersweet

Just got back from seeing Chelsea last Wednesday and it was simultaneously amazing and depressing. Amazing because actually being with each other (in that same room, at the same time, talking face to face) is simply the best thing in the world.

Getting on my flight back to the UK, leaving the perfect weather and that gorgeous, funny, intelligent, perfect girl for rain and loneliness is the worst thing in the world. We tell ourselves in the grand scheme of life it isn't much time to be apart until we don't have to be anymore, but it is just so hard right now.

TSC PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY HURRY UP AND PROCESS OUR APPLICATION.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInviting parents overseas to come to USA to attend our wedding!

Assuming your parents are only visiting and do not intend to immigrate to the US, they will require a travel visa. Pretty sure that they will require a B-2 visa. This does not require you to provide anything, and it involves them needing to attend an interview at the embassy.

based on that, it's best if they get the ball rolling now.

I actually think the people who say they are at TSC have gotten it confused with sending their application to the Dallas Lockbox. And then never update their timeline to reflect they're at CSC.

Hopefully due to the Senator being Republican and in Mississippi, he may be more willing to help. Also, he is up for re-election next year, so that may spur him on.

I'm past being worried about it. There is pretty much nothing we can do but go with the flow. And I remind myself that even a year is a short time when compared to a lifetime.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril 2014 TSC Filers

Oh, man, I should have added more evidence! I sent like 4 photos, a letter describing how we met, and a copy of our lease from when we lived together in 2012~13, signed by both of us. I guess I might get an RFE.... I mean we went to the same school and all that, so we thought it was 'obvious.' I guess I was being 'a bit' to easy going about the whole evidence part.............................. *anxiety increases exponentially*

Did you send plane tickets or passport stamps? I mean, if you have a lease signed together and it's within the last two years, and you have photos, that's pretty concrete evidence you have seen each other in the two years prior to filing. They are just trying to establish that you have actually met inside the two year time frame. That's it. Not whether it's a bonafide relationship or anything. That comes at the interview.

I agree... I'm just so mad at TSC that I can't think right. I'm sorry if it seemed offensive, I didn't mean to be offensive in any way :( We're on the same boat and I need hope as much as you do... But it's just heart breaking to see CSC filers get approved in a month and we have to wait more than 5 months. I don't understand how it is fair to us and what we did to deserve this...

Sorry. Tone really doesn't translate well in text. It was more a comment of amusement than anything else. I have come to grips with the fact that CSC people will already be married 6 months by the time we even see each other next.

Nope. TSC is still working on January cases. We have at least three months to go :)

It's okay to complain or be down about your waiting time, regardless of others who have been waiting longer. Other people's problems don't make your problems irrelevant. That's like saying you can't be happy because someone else is happier. Boo to them. I would say be sad all you want, but do try not to be too sad. Try to stay upbeat and positive as much as possible, I try though it sometimes seems impossible, perhaps that will help hurry the time along.

Totally agree. It's a bit depressing actually. I refuse to look at the other April 2014 Filers thread. Seeing all the people from CSC getting approved inside a month just gets me down.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril 2014 TSC Filers

After just having spent two and a half weeks together we are apart again, and I'm feeling even more disheartened. My hope for all of us is that this process somehow speeds by and the TSC picks up pace. A girl can dream! (by the way, both I and my fiancé use this account, in case anyone finds any shifty gender change- hahaha). Now I'm going to try to stay busy and stop obsessively checking the case status- which I know hasn't changed- and worrying over if I accidentally did something wrong in the application. I hope I'm not the only one terrified I've forgotten something. Stay positive!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril 2014 TSC Filers

Anybody know how/why certain people are transferred to CSC? Could it be because of your geographic location?

Luck of the draw. There is literally no rhyme or reason to it unfortunately.

I keep reminding myself that this waiting period will help me to save up money. It hurts knowing that we will be separated until likely, December (after the interview & everything). I really feel for those still waiting from nov/dec but that doesn't make our wait any less tragic. I'm hoping tsc will start to pick up soon...I was looking over the graphs the other night & noticed that the speeds fluctuate. It's heartbreaking knowing that just because I live on the east coast, means I have to wait forever for an noa2. But my fiancé is worth it & we will both work through this together.

What would make it easier on me is if people that I know would be supportive of my situation instead of thinking I'm insane & getting mad because I'm saving up money. Apparently, because I'm female, I shouldn't have to pay for any of this...ummm, no. Were both saving as much as possible, it's only fair. At least no one on here is so judgmental.

The money saving thing is a bit of a blessing. And because the £ is crazy strong right now, it means saving even more. That is how I manage to make it seem like it's okay haha

Considering the rapidity which people who were lucky enough to get routed to CSC are getting approved, I thought I would make this thread for those of us who filed in April and were routed to TSC. As a place to discuss the waiting period, but mostly because seeing CSC people getting approved after two weeks is heart breaking.

Hi all,

I have been having fits with my post office and have not been receiving any of my mail. Apparently I didn't check it often enough for their liking so they decided I moved. Anyway, I'm still trying to get it resolved but I'm concerned about not receiving my important documents. Currently waiting on the physical copy of NOA- have received the text and email notification with the receipt numbers.

My question is if I do not receive the form, is it possible for me to request a duplicate? Thanks in advance for any help you may have!
