Woooohooooo!!!!  Just got off the phone with my fiance.  He just came out of his interview and he was told the visa is approved and to expect it in 2-3 weeks!!!!  (Mumbai embassy, appointment 7:30 am-took about 4 hours).  After he gets some sleep I'll ask him to share his experience and questions asked.     Long and difficult process so far but it's worth it!! I m very happy for u guys.. !!As i can see ur fiance had his interview in India..!! Assuming that ur fiance must faced medical checkup.. I hav few queries ..I d really appreciate if u'll answer these. How many days before the interview he had his medical?  How long it takes? what about immunization.. do they draw blood and based on  the report suggest vaccine OR just looking at the immunization record they tell which vaccine is required? Do they give the report to applicant or they send it directly to the mumbai consulate? Once again thanks for sharing all the details, it really helps us a lot. Congratulation once again..   Thank you very much   1.  We were only notified of my fiance's interview 2 weeks prior so his medical appointment happened about a week and a half before his appointment (they were very understand when he called and were nice enough to squeeze him in between appointments in order to get it done on time).  2.  He said that he was in the doctor's office about an hour or so.  Because he was a last minute add-in they were super busy that day and didn't have time to do more than give him his shots and take the chest x-ray. They told him that they would read the x-ray later that night and if there was a problem notify him otherwise they would complete the report. 3. My fiance didn't have any vaccination records so I would guess that the doctor took a brief medical history from him and based what immunizations to give him off of that and knowing what is needed for the US.  He told me that he's not entirely sure what he got (beyond Chicken Pox and Tetnus/Diptheria) but that he got about 3-shots in total (knowing how immunizations work I'm guessing there were multiple immunizations in a single shot). 4. My fiance got the call from the doctor's off in just under a week that his records were complete (his appointment was on a Wednesday and his records were complete by the following Monday).  They did not forward his results, he was to pick them up.  In fact, the doctor even stated that he would not release the medical records to anyone but Ab or a close personal friend/family member.     Hope this helps and Good luck when you have yours!	cahrie99	Female	India	2013-10-01 14:01:00

You read all these sad stories about people that go to their interview, told they are approved and then their visa sits in AP for months on end so while my fiance was told he was approved last week at the interview we were still nervous HOWEVER he got his visa today!!!  Just 8 days after his interview!  We could not have hoped for better, what a great day!  Despite all the waiting (felt like years though it was really only 8 months) and all the rushing to gather the paperwork in time (we were only notified of the interview 2 weeks before it happened) it's all coming together and our dreams are turning into reality.   I am so thankful for this site..... all the assistance we've gotten through other posters, new friends and the guides and example forms!	cahrie99	Female	India	2013-10-01 06:12:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Has anyone obtained there K1 Visa in 5 months ?	There definitely is no guarantee for any kind of timeline for this process.  My fiance and I started everything in January of this year, we've had no missing documents, no RFEs, etc. and just finally had the visa interview today, 8 months later.  Some are sooner, some are later, it all just depends on how busy the offices are and (I think) the luck of the draw.  I would suggest not making any concrete plans until you have a visa in hand.    Best of luck to you!	cahrie99	Female	India	2013-09-23 20:59:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Received NOA2, Now what	Congrats on your petition approval  Just wanted to let you know that the Indian consulates do not mail out Packets 3 and 4.  They tell you to go on to the consulate site and download the packets.  Both in our case and those I've spoken with, the appointment letter came via email and we were instructed to not send anything in ahead of time but to take all the documents and forms the day of the interview.  After you get your nvc case number you will log into USTravelDocs.com and create an account.  We used the help chat feature on this site to be very helpful (they were the ones that explained that India no longer sends the packets and to take everything to the interview the day of).  The USC will want to get everything together for the I134 (affidavit of support and supporting docs) and get those in the mail.  And I am not sure where you got your police clearance but I know someone else that went through the police dept. and it was not accepted at the consulate.  The police report has to go through the Passport Office.  Best of luck!!	cahrie99	Female	India	2013-10-19 14:52:00
