PhilippinesSending regular money to fiancee. Good or Bad for Interview ?
Yeah, I've been making it a habit to send her a card every other week.. Just a cute love letter so that there's plenty of proof in addition to the pictures, chat logs, hotel receipts, plane tickets, etc.. The money stubs is a new one, but might as well go in the packet. :-)

PhilippinesVSC Processing Times (Wedding Question)
Well.. I just got thrown another curveball.. She needs to attend her PRC Nursing oath ceremony the last week of August.. So I have officially booked October 23rd as our wedding day.. I can't forsee any reason why she wouldn't have her visa by September at the absolute drop dead latest.. (i hope - knock on wood)

PhilippinesVSC Processing Times (Wedding Question)
I'm still thinking I might have pulled the trigger a bit early.. Not a lot of lee-way here.. I wonder if I call the venue if I can move it out 30 days to September.. What do most people do about a wedding? Just a quickie in Vegas?

PhilippinesVSC Processing Times (Wedding Question)
QUOTE (Bob 4 Anna @ Dec 18 2009, 05:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
When you look at your timeline did you notice this: "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between February 5, 2010 and February 12, 2010*. "

This system makes this estimate based on current processing times from other VJ Members who have gone before you in the process.

It's no promise but it is indicating that NOA2 for K-1s are currently taking about 2 months on average. This can change but when you consider that my case was 7 months & 5 days from NOA1 to Wife's POE on a CR-1 I would say you shouldn't start worrying too much until say April comes around if you don't have the NOA2 yet.

Bob this is the type of post that makes me want to reach out and give you a hug.. OK, yes so maybe I'll be very fortunate and they'll adjudicate my I129F between Feb 5 & Feb 12.. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and keep on praying.. I have enough stress with trying to plan the wedding, don't need any more for possible visa delays.. Maybe the VSC employees will be treated very well by Santa and they'll come back from break re-energized and ready to process.. kicking.gif

PhilippinesVSC Processing Times (Wedding Question)
Well.. that wasn't the no worries response that I was hoping for.. :-)

Yeah I guess you're right.. 5 months puts me at May 10th if things are aligned.. I was really counting on her flying out here June 12th to get familiar with the area and meet my folks.. Even if it's a 6 months then that's June 10th.. 8 months is August 10th (I start to sweat bullets)

I wish I could hop in a time machine and see how this is all going to go down..
Jared and MayMalePhilippines2009-12-18 15:41:00
PhilippinesVSC Processing Times (Wedding Question)
So.. I received my NOA1 on December 10th and I'm trying to figure out just how quick this will all go down. We should be a pretty easy case, no previous marriages, kids, etc... We're both 27, and I provided tons of pictures and hotel/flight/etc stubs..

We'd like to get married on August 21st here in the US.. In fact, I just put a deposit down on the venue. Did I pull the trigger too early? Is there any risk that this might not happen? What about the usual time difference between NOA2 and the actual interview date? I'm all prepped to fly her to St. Luke's as soon as we receive the NOA2 (maybe even next day)..

Is there any emergency expedition fee I can pay the embassy to bump up her interview? Any guidance or words of reassurance would be greatly appreciated.. unsure.gif

PhilippinesCathay Pacific Online booking...Please Help Urgent
QUOTE (Westindy @ Dec 29 2009, 03:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I can't seem to get a straight answer on this one. I wanted to purchase my Fiances flight from Cathay Pacific for Dec 30th and was told that he would have to purchase it himself because tickets originating in philippines must be ticketed in philippines. I then waited 5 min and called Cathay Pacific right back and a different Reservation agent gave me a diffrent story. Told me it was ok to purchase online no problem. Has anybody had success buying their fiances ticket online?

Yes, you can buy the tickets online but you'll need to send a copy of your passport and the credit card that was used to purchase the tickets. She'll need to present these when she checks in.. Also, some websites don't allow you to book tickets for flights originating in the Philippines like Orbitz.com. But others do such as Expedia.com or Kayak.com.

Good luck!

Philippinesplane tickets

What you are doing is correct. Bought my fiancee's ticket one way from MNL to NYC from the NWA website while we were both in Cebu the same day she had her visa delivered. Hardest part was changing my ticket to match hers so we could fly together. Make sure you have money for airport tax and travel tax along with USEM packet and visa/cfo sticker in passport. OTher details mentioned here about name matching tickets and stuff are also relevant.

Oh cool, I plan on having my fiancee come in from NYC via NWA as well.. I'm having her fly this one alone (mostly for financial reasons).. But I'm taking her to Hong Kong in two weeks for her birthday, so she's not complaining too much!!

I hope NYC is a decent POE..

Philippineswhat is the total cost I need to send Pam?

Have you checked out the overweight baggage fees lately? I'll bet you wouldn't like the thought of your sweetie standing there in tears at the airport with her suitcases open trying to decide what to leave behind on the airport floor because her bags were overweight and you were too kuripot to send her a few bucks.

Also, she might want to eat something, buy a book or some magazines, or maybe even get you a gift.

I enjoyed a chair massage in the airport once before a long flight.

If she spends nothing, then she will have some walking-around money in her pocket when she is in the U.S. You plan to allow her that small luxury, don't you?

One item I forgot to add to the suggested budget: she could throw a respectable barangay-size going-away party for under $400.00. Just sayin' :star:

This is actually a really great point about baggage allowance.. I'm going out in April to grab a few of my sweetie's bags so that she'll have less to carry through when she comes to see me.. She lives in Davao, so I'll have her fly Mabuhay to Manila the day before, then it's 7:30 AM from Manila to Tokyo.. And then Tokyo to NYC.. Can't wait..

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI want to be with my wife
QUOTE (Chuck and Grace @ Nov 29 2008, 01:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Almost everyone wants it to go faster - I havent seen any good way. USCIS has criteria for an expedite, but even then, they may not be willing to help.

Regarding paystubs - for the interview, you will need to send an I-134 form, this is in relation to your income. You need to be 125% of poverty level at a minimum.

I filed just after you, so I me an hundreds of others here understand your frustration.

I'm not sure what "You need to be 125% of poverty level at a minimum" means. I don't drive a BMW, I work 40+ hours a week, and I rent.....so that should give you an idea of my financial situation.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI want to be with my wife
Hi Everyone,

I'm an American citizen and my wife is overseas. I can't believe this process takes so long. We got married in July and I'm currently living alone here in the US. I received a letter from USCIS saying that they received my I-130 and I-129F on October 28. I got the receipt numbers and I check daily to see if any progress has been made, but nothing. I'm hearing that it will take them 6 months to process my application and another 6 months at the embassy to schedule my wife for an interview. This is ridiculous!!!!!! Do you guys know anyway I can have this process move faster?

Another question, I keep hearing that USCIS needs to see how much I make a year, but nowhere in the application did it request my pay-stubs. Did I miss something?

But most important, can anyone let me know of a way I can move this faster and have my wife with me soon!! I greatly appreciate it!!!!!

If you like you can contact me at the following email address: chamo_007@yahoo.com

Thanks again,

Dazodiak

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow do they do it?
This immigration process has me feeling very depressed and impotent. I see on TV how these celebs adopt kids all over the world and bring them back the same day. How do they do it? Who do they know? How much do they pay? There are ways to accelerate the process but I need to know, what's the secret?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLawyers?
I just want to know how many of you had a lawyer submit your application? I decided to do it all myself cause I think to pay $3,000 to fill out an application is just too much. Now I'm wondering if by hiring a lawyer the process would have moved faster.

I'm so desperate that I'm willing to volunteer myself at the Vermont Center on my days off to try to help myself and others move their applications faster. I'm going insane!!!!! headbonk.gif

Being that the VSC has such horrible employees I'm thinking of writing a letter to Paul Novak who is the director of the VSC. I'm not sure if this will help my case or maybe I'm sabotaging myself, but I won't just sit around and wait. Perhaps you guys will write letters too and make an impact on him. Or even better, can anyone find out who is Paul Novak's boss?

That is of course if you are choosing to pursue the CR-1 visa. If you are only going for the K-3 then you can ignore everything from NVC (except their letter saying they've mailed the case off to the embassy).
