A good rule of thumb to follow is that government offices are closed the same days as your local bank.

LOL so what days are the government offices actually open? rofl.gif

Usually it's recommended to bring in tax transcripts as evidence.. That should be about it, maybe a few paycheck stubs as well.. It's more of in case that particular officer wants to dig into the info you provide..

Good luck! :thumbs:

Ha! No kidding.. Hot damn, so we're filing in December. I better start planning our 2014 European vacation with her new US Passport. :-)

$680 for the N400 eh? Man, it'll be nice to be done with all these fees.

Yeah, I was referring to the waiting.

Hey, you're filing the N400 in November?? I thought it's 3 years after green card? May got her first green card in March 2011, so we were planning to file March 2014. Do I have that wrong?

Sorry just a little grumpy. Wife has been temping and they're not hiring her after her temp period is up. She can't seem to find steady work around here and the single income game isn't much fun.

Thanks brother! :-)

Weird I am not able to track my EAC number just yet, but figure I'll deal with that problem in 9 months when they actually kick the box with our application. Merry Christmas, that's $590 I could have spent on better things!

Affidavits are not necessary in any shape or form if there's other primary proof, which 'confusing' seems to have supplies.

If anything, if RFE is issued (in any of the cases, not just in this), it's nice to have something else in your arsenal to send, something like affidavits, for example.

Hey Capt, I keep f'ing up my post..

Can you add us?

12/11 was our file date
12/17 is our NOA date

Just got the paperwork in the mail. Thanks bro.

Hi there, I'm a newbie so please be gentle. My girlfriend and I have been filling out the G235a form together and are having a bit of trouble matching up the fields correctly.. She lives in the Philippines, in Davao del Sur and there's also Buhangin as part of the address. I was hoping maybe someone that has filled this out before might be able to help match the fields? How important is it that we get the fields 100% right if the info is at least right? Thanks in advance...

Just leave out the Buhangin part. Do it like this - 123 Main Street, Davao City, Davao del Sur.

Many thanks for your help here!

I know, I should have nothing to worry about:

=> We're a true and loving couple.
=> She has a whole pile of evidence of our on-going relationship.
=> She is an awesome woman, strong intelligent.

and the list goes on and on...

I just wish I could get at least hourly updates...

I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait several hours...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!! kicking.gif

PhilippinesPossible interview questions?
I've heard that the interviews are pretty difficult in the Manila embassy.. My fiancee was saying that sometimes they ask non-relevant questions just to try and fluster the interviewees.. Is this true? I was also wondering, will the Manila embassy need to speak to me, or is the interview just for her?

PhilippinesDecember filers?
I just sent my I-129F in and it should arrive at the Vermont Center tomorrow.. I really appreciate all the guides and examples on this website, it certainly made it much easier. I was curious if there are any other December filers? I'm hoping for a really quick turnaround, I would love to have my fiancee here for 4th of July..

PhilippinesFor the American men that went to Cebu
I can attest that Boracay is just simply amazing.. If you're going, you might want to check out the Red Coconut hotel. It's right on the beach and a small walk to all the restaurants / shops. I'm going back to PI in April and am considering taking the fiancee to Boracay. (If I can afford it)

PhilippinesVisiting fiancee in HK, looking for fun recommendations
I couldn't afford a ticket during the Christmas airline peak so alternatively, I booked a flight to Hong Kong on January 22nd. I was very fortunate to use my frequent flier miles for a free ticket, and arrange for a $200 RT ticket from Manila to Hong Kong for the fiancee. It's a bit of a birthday present for her as she's always wanted to go to Hong Kong. We are going to stay for about a week and I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations for places to go, things to see, etc.. I have already locked in on a good deal through Travelocity/American Express for a hotel on Hong Kong Island, now I'm just looking for some fun..

We are already checking out:

* Ocean Park
* Hong Kong Disneyland
* The Peak
* Temple Street Night Market
* Day trip to Macau

My only caveat is I'm on a bit of a budget so I can go see her again in April.. wink.gif

By the way, I'm super excited today as I received my NOA1 in the mail. Now the fun waiting game begins... kicking.gif

PhilippinesSending regular money to fiancee. Good or Bad for Interview ?
Yeah, I've been making it a habit to send her a card every other week.. Just a cute love letter so that there's plenty of proof in addition to the pictures, chat logs, hotel receipts, plane tickets, etc.. The money stubs is a new one, but might as well go in the packet. :-)
