Philippines	March 17th shipment from NVC to Manila ?	So the general consensus is wait about 3-4 days to schedule the interview? I believe my package arrived yesterday at the embassy... So I guess I'll hold off until Friday.. When you say they sent the interview schedule who does this? NVC or the actual Manila Embassy? Went with FedEx when I had to send Embassy documents, and envelope got there in 5 days, so I am sold on FedEx to get vital docs around the world. Not sure the checking account can handle a shopping trip to the Mall of Asia tho. LOL. Philippines	My boyfriend is coming to Manila	The night I first met my wife...she wasnt my wife yet, hehehehe. She arrived at the airport 2 hours early, but the crowds were so heavy. She waited outside the airport. I didnt know where to look for her. I had all my baggage...it was raining, and soooooooo hot and humid, at night. after 12 midnight. I didnt know how to call her from there, and didnt know what to do. I heard my name paged, but too late to hear the message. I found a security guard and explained all to him, and showed him her phone number, and he said "wait here". He walked away, and soon he came back with my wife! He told me to wait under the letter A, and she was upset why I wasnt waiting under the letter D! (as my last name begins with). But I told her I waited where the security guard told me to wait. But she looked so differnet in person... smaller, more beautiful, than I imagined. So I maybe walked right past her and did not know. That's really a very cute story.. Philippines	My boyfriend is coming to Manila	I'll never forget my first time to Phil.. I was in Shanghai on business and flew to Manila, then connected to Davao via PAL. When I landed in Davao (only kano onboard) I was overwhelmed with people trying to help me. They wanted to carry bags, take their jeeps/taxi's to places, etc.. I cross the street in Davao airport and there's just so many Filipinos waiting around for their loved ones. I look all around and can't find her.. She sends me an SMS that she's got a cab and is waiting.. Finally as I keep walking a little Pinay calls my name and throws her arms around me.. Better call St. Luke and let them know that the embassy said they lost the medical records of ur gf and after you call them you call the embassy and tell them that what St. Luke told you... In my case I was approved but took so long with my NSO what we did was I let my hubby call them because they entertain and give update and they r nice to the petitioner. My hubby call the NSO and Embassy everyday and annoyed them and they will give you update so you will stop calling them and it works... LOL... Thanks I spent a half hour yesterday on the phone to receive no real update, but I could tell the call agent wasn't too happy with how long I kept her on the phone.. It would have been better had Milagros requested to bring the St Luke's results with her to the embassy (+ her passport) so there's 0 change of anything being lost enroute. @rionet - thanks I think I'm going to give them Tuesday to look for it, and call them back on Wednesday to find out what in the world happened. I agree, it seems like they are more helpful to the USC as they didn't let her schedule the interview, but they let me. @Tahoma - you can be there's going to be a lot of squeaking coming from me.. Philippines	Interview Passed.. but lost medical?	So I got the heads up that Milagros passed her interview, but the embassy lost her medical report. They saw in the system that they received it on 3/31 but couldn't find it.. (not even 2 weeks later) So she passed, paid a fee to have it mailed to her.. She said that they would call her with an update on it, and she plans to nag them until they close this all out.. Has anyone else been through this before? Philippines	Medical today at St Luke's	To Jared and May ... I know that Milagros successfully done with her medical and eventually her emabassy interview. I have a question. I saw your this thread that Milagros was able to go to Medical without the the invitation or appointment letter from embassy. My fiance is attempting to have her medical this week. She has only the email copy of approved NOA2 and the MNL# (which I got from NVC last night over the phone). Is this sufficient enought to proceed to her medical. I saw your thread that Milagros said that the USEM didnt send the appointment/inviation letter. Did you only provided the NOA2 and wrote the MNL#? ... Thanks in advance for your immediate response. When will be her interview... thanks again. Yes, your fiancee just needs the MNL # and a copy of the NOA2 form is helpful I think... She already interviewed, and they said she was approved but they can't find her medical forms. I just called and they said that the form is still with the immigration officer. Philippines	Medical today at St Luke's	There's other posts on this, but I read that the St Mary's CFO in Cebu is all day and the PRISM one in Manila is 2 hours. I don't know how long the St Mary's CFO in Manila is..... I also read that the nuns are a little more critical on your papers than the folks at PRISM. Johnny once again you are the man! Yes, Milagros did say the woman that she was talking to was Cebuano/from Cebu... I'm going to book the PRISM one, that sounds a whole lot better.. Can't wait to call on Monday and find out her interview date.. Plus tomorrow is April 1, which is awesome because I'm headed back to Phil on the 30th.. Woohoo, I can't wait!! Philippines	Medical today at St Luke's	good luck...hopefully she will be able to get through it fairly fast. I think the way the flow goes if there isnt too many people she should be done by lunch...but of course on mondays i think you can throw that out the window. My wife will be going tomorrow to get her shots....she only gets 2 from what they said at St. Lukes. They will do age appropriate shots. Some they wont give because they are part of a series that takes time to go through. I'm sure everything will go good for her. Tell her to go to Robinson's Mall and eat a good meal. It sounds like St Luke's is a madhouse today and I imagine she'll have to go back for shots and whatnot.. I'm hoping it all goes smooth.. Not only is she going to Robinson's for lunch but I heard she's going to buy the world's biggest ice cream sundae! Ahhh I miss her so much, can't wait to go and see her in May! Not fun. +1 on the Rebtel advice. My wife tried it last night and she's hooked. So much for our local international carrier...Qwest. Salamat, I'm hoping it's a smooth ride for her.. We spoke about a half hour ago, and she told me to call back later.. I just signed up for it today and just love Rebtel.. Pricing isn't too bad, and I like the fact that I can just call her from my mobile without any pins or any of that nonsense.. I have a strong feeling we will use this same service when she's finally here to call friends & family back home.. I'm just a little under 5 weeks from seeing her again, and I just can't wait.. We didn't receive that and I hope they won't send her back home.. I told her to just provide them with the MNL case # and tell them that they never sent us a copy.. Here's hoping it goes smooth.. Philippines	Anyone else in the same boat as I am ?	Teamster, I'm in the same boat as you brother.. My fiancee has stayed at the Bocobo Hotel and absolutely loves it.. I wouldn't have her stay anywhere else at this point.. The only thing that we're doing to try and save a little coin is having her do the CFO while I visit in 2 weeks.. We'll already be in Manila, and then she's flying into JFK after she takes the nursing boards in July.. There aren't too many ways to save a lot of $$$ when you talk about all these flights except for maybe comparing some of the airlines.. Philippine Airlines tends to be a bit more expensive than Cebu Pacific so maybe you'll get lucky and find a cheaper flight that way? Also have her look for promos, sometimes you can get a 1/2 price ticket.. The only other thing is maybe you don't have her sister go with her.. I know how you felt in terms of having her fly alone, but if push comes to shove, I know she can do it.. My Milagros is all of 5'2 and she walks around Manila like she owns it. Good Luck & God Bless!
