Philippinesto all of you with facebook accounts

Good luck to May on her nursing boards. It is worth all of the work that she is putting into it. Does she plan on taking the NCLEX when she is in the U.S.? It's cheaper here...$200 vs. $400.

My wife passed her boards a few years ago in Pinas, and she passed the NCLEX on her first try when she took it last September here in Seattle...75 questions in an hour and a half! She's now working here as an RN. :D

Thank you.. Yes her nursing boards is what has kept her butt in the Pinas for almost 2 months after she got her visa..

So is I understand everything correctly, May's taking the boards in July and then if she passes we go down to NY for her to take the oath. Then she has to try and take the CGFNS.. They only offer that 2x a year I think.. I'm not sure how willing she is to take it in November.. Then she has to take the NCLEX, when she is ready, and then finally she can be an RN here in Connecticut. Woohoo!

I'm not forcing her to work right away or anything.. I really just want her to be able to do something where she can make friends.. You can't really do that just staying at home.. So here's to additional journeys ahead..

Philippinesto all of you with facebook accounts

me and my husband have our own FaceBook account.. we know each others password too
it's a matter of trust and communication as a couple..and we both set privacy so not
all friends can view our profile..

there are more bigger issues to deal with in a couples relationship
facebook is one way to connect with relatives and friends back home.

i think we just need an open mind with an open heart.

For us, not only do we know each other's Facebook account passwords.. I've been tending to her farm on Farmville while she studies for the nursing boards!!!

Yeah we do the same.. We both block out some of our nosy family members...

There are so many other things to fight about, facebook stuff isn't worth it..

PhilippinesDating Scam Stories

Well this happen to someone (white guy) I know in the net also. We were chatting once in a while and he was very excited about someone he met in the Philippines from which I remembered was living in Tagum City.. and he was asking me if I have any idea where the province is. He did told me that the girl was poor (typical story) and he was sending her some money to help. I asked him if he already seen the girl on cam, and he said "No". I thought it was so stupid of him to send some money without actually seeing the girl, and he said that he trust her    . To cut the story short, he shared me the girl's pictures and to my surprised it was Juliana Palermo.. ( a sexy star in the Philippines.)

I simply asked him if the girl was being true to her, and he said he's definitely sure. The guy was being scammed big time so what I did, is I've sent him a link of a website with the same pictures on it. He was really furious and thank me for that..

I've heard this has happened a few times..

It's not really necessary... It's not a legal document, there's no notary, it isn't listed as a requirement anywhere but on VJ.

Really? So what value does getting the EAD stamp in JFK hold?
Jared and MayMalePhilippines2010-09-11 09:45:00
PhilippinesEAD Q
Just a question.. My wife received the EAD @ JFK and we're filing her AOS next week. If she gets a part-time job can she continue to work past the 90 day expiration of the EAD stamp @ JFK?

Or must she stop working and then wait until we get the AOS EAD?

PhilippinesBeer
I'm thinking about traveling from the US to Phils with some Blue Moon, Sams Seasonal, etc.. so that the father-in-law can try out our local beers.. I'm guessing balikbayan would work, but it might get "old" before arrival.. I'm curious what the airlines would do about checking in beer..

We're going next year, so I'll have to let everyone know how it goes..

I was wondering, what's the best way to send my father in-law some of the local good stuff? Anyone send it in a balikbayan box? Or can I bring it in checked baggage?

PhilippinesRed Horse in the states?

SOme friends found Red Horse awhile back around 69th St. in Woodside, Queens. There are plenty of Filipino restaurants and stores around that area.

Thanks, I reached out to my local Filipino foodmart.. The Asian markets around me suck and don't carry beer.. Maybe I'll make a trip out to Queens next weekend..

PhilippinesFlying US to Philippines / one way ticket ?
Well, I know they don't check your return ticket.. I'm sure you've read this below:

ENTRY / EXIT REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizens may enter the Philippines without a visa for tourism purposes upon presentation of their U.S. passport, valid for at least six months after the date of entry into the Philippines, and a return ticket to the United States or an onward ticket to another country. Upon arrival, immigration authorities will annotate the traveler?s passport with an entry visa valid for 21 days. If the traveler plans to stay longer than 21 days, he/she must apply for an extension at the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and Deportation's main office at Magallanes Drive, Intramuros, Manila, Philippines or at any of its provincial offices.

It's that "and a return ticket".. I'm 99% sure that part isn't enforced. It's also very helpful to be honest with customs/immigration if they do notice something.

I find that there's more leg room on the Asiana Airlines plane config than on Delta.. Not sure if it's 1-2 inches more, but it makes s huge difference!
