If your passport is older than 6 months then to get the PCC from RPO(Regional Passport Office),they will ask for the PCC from District Police Station for that address which is in your passport. So first get local PCC then go for PCC from RPO.

Before one week i had my medical exam at Apollo Hospital,Gandhinagar,India.I received vaccines for tentanus, varicella and MMR.When i went there to pickup reports then the Guy at the clinic said that everything is good and that I am good to go (having all my age appropriate vaccines complete). But I got home and looked at the results in the Vaccination Worksheet and the doctor has marked those vaccins as "Taken" which are given by them and the rest have been checked as "Not appropriate for age".The form was checked that the "Vaccine History Incomplete" and "Applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver because vaccines not medically appropriate".

After searching on VJ i found that it can create problem in visa interview in only K-1 visa category. Also found that for Immigrant Visa applicants its okay. I also read that mostly people have that type of result. So i want to know that is it a common or what?? Anybody has/had the same results?? Anybody had the problem due to this in past??

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSwitching to a CR1 from a K1

Fair enough, so we could delay our current K1 enough that we could have it ready by the time we are done in the UK.

I just figured that the CR1 seems a more 'solid' visa, and allowing me to work straight away would save us some cash.  Also I am correct in thinking it makes the proof of financial solvency, the affidavit of support bit, a little easier to do (at present we struggle with that because I am the earner and she is a student).  We can get a sponsor ofc, but i figured this just might make it more simple.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSwitching to a CR1 from a K1

Hi guys,

My fiance and I filed our K1 visa application back in December, for me to come to the US from the UK.

Our situation has changed though, and we are now considering that maybe a CR1 visa would be a better option.  The reason for this is that she has been accepted for a Masters course in the UK, so she will be here for a year.  Our reasoning is that during that year I can apply for the slower CR1 (which wouldnt matter because we would be together anyway) and then when it is ready I can return with my green card already instead of arriving and being unable to work.

Obviously for the K1 we are currently engaged, but we are now thinking of planning a quick wedding and switching to a CR1 afterwards.

Is there any small details we should be aware of?  I have read through and I think it works for us, but for example could being out of the country studying here for a year affect the application?

Many thanks,

Owen

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow the Affidavit of Support works with a couple applying from abroad..

Hi Guys,

We originally applied for a K1 visa back in December, but due to a change in circumstances - she got accepted to study in the UK for a year - we decided to get married, and whilst she is here anyway we can have a fully fledged CR1 going instead.

We are obviously familiar with most of the initial process with the I-130, but I am not sure about how this is going to work with the Affidavit of support.  She will be a student here (no income) and I obviously have a decent income in the UK, but cant use that.  So between us we effectively have nothing!  But surely this cant be a particularly unusual circumstance - can we simply use one of her American family members or family friends as a co-sponsor, who will effectively need to fulfill the whole requirement of the form because my assets aren't accepted, and she doesn't have any?  Will they be happy with this, i hope so - since i see no other way.

Many thanks for your patient advice, as always..

Kind regards,

Owen

Yup, think we will do it that way, we would rather have it ticking away in the background than having to worry about it in the last few months or if any rules change for DCF..

Thanks for your advice :)

I heard that we may well be applicable for DCF (she is on the UK on a student visa and I hear this is valid now).  But we dont really need the faster processing - as she is here studying we dont need it to be ready until the end of next year when she finishes her course.  Therefore perhaps we should just go with the regular Chicago lockbox option.

Will post here as I don't think its worth a new thread:

We are ready to send off our I130 for the CR1.  As my wife lives with me in the UK we can potentially send it to the consulate here in England or to the Chicago Lockbox.  We were wondering if anyone has any feedback on that process?  i.e is going directly to the London consulate going to be quicker/more reliable?  It certainly is easier of course rather than posting internationally, but we only want to do it if it wont present any more problems.

Regards

We originally filed a I-129 for a K1, because we thought we were gonna have to wait to get me over there.  But a position for her course came up here so we changed plans kinda last minute :D  There were lots of factors involved but it meant we had a bit more control of our wedding.  Ill update the info :)

Thanks for the response - I will email and report back when I have an answer.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUS/UK Couple - Beginning CR1 Journey

Hi there,

We are just looking to clear up a couple of minor questions we had when looking through the CR1 process.

Our situation:

We got married a couple of months ago and my wife (the US citizen) has moved to the UK under a student visa, living with me (British citizen).  When she finishes her course we aim to move back to the US together :)

The questions:

-As I understand it, we do not qualify for DCF because she is in the UK on a student visa, therefore CR1 is the way to go?

-For the I-130 it asks for the petitioners address, should we use her US address, or the address we are currently at in the UK?

I think aside from that we are generally ok, thanks for your help.

Owen & Vanessa

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuick Co-Sponsor Q for the good old I-864

This is suddenly making much more sense!

So on the petitioners form our household will be 2 (me + her) and on the godfathers it will be one.

Cheers for sorting this one :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuick Co-Sponsor Q for the good old I-864

Ah i see, so just two separate I-864's needed.  That makes sense.

There doesn't seem to be anywhere that you can specify that there will be a co-sponsor, hence two forms - or is this just self-evident by the fact that you are submitting two forms.

Thanks guys

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuick Co-Sponsor Q for the good old I-864

Hi Guys,

A quick question I am hoping some light could be shed on.

Our application was recently approved and received by the NVC, so we are scrambling to get the next steps fully ready.  The key ingredient here is the I-864 form:

My wife (the US citizen) is a student, so we dont fulfull the income requirements.

Therefore if i read form I-864 correctly, we need to add a household member as a co-sponsor.  This is slightly confusing because when we move to the US our household will only be me and her?

That household member then completes form I-864A which we file with my wifes I-864 and we are all good.  Hopefully this sounds correct to now.

Key question: Our preferred co-sponsor is not a relative (Godfather), is this permissible for the form/application.  If so they would seem to fall under the 'other dependant' category when specifying the relationship - though this doesnt really make sense, since they are not a dependant.

Assistance much appreciated,

Owen

LOL . . .I like how your mind works. And YES, the money saved on the flight will easily be blown upon her arrival, buying the myriad of things she needs to settle in America. To me, it's a little ludicrous to spend an extra $1,5000 on a 19-hr flight in order to hold someone's hand. Common sense should win-out in this case.

Yep, let's sue everyone! Typical American response. Public humiliation sucks, and is not right, but suing in my opinion is BS. If I had a lawsuit for every time a company's employee called me a midget, "short-stuff" etc. both out loud or under their breath, I'd be a rich man. We are becoming a country that has allowed political correctness to keep everyone on edge. You cannot litigate bad behavior out of people, just as you cannot legislate prejudicial tendencies out of people.

PhilippinesManila Embassy Interview/Visa Status

I just want to confirm that K1 visa appointments are not on a first come first serve basis or shall I say, as long as i already got the appointment letter from the embassy, I am already assured of the interview slot.

Actually, I already got the appointment letter from the embassy and my scheduled medical and interview are on may 15 & 22, respectively. However, I have not paid the visa fee of $100 yet since my passport is in the process of renewal. DS-156 requires the passport details. I will only get to pay the visa fee this Friday.

I hope I am not in trouble. Is everything fine?

thanks

You just need to have your passport renewed and ready by the time you goto your medical. St. Lukes will take your passport and pass it, along with the medical results to the embassy. As long as you have paid the visa fee and have the form stamped by the bank when you arrive at the embassy for your interview, you are fine.

Must seem almost comical at this point in your journey that the only hang-up is with Delbros. On that note, I'm not sure what complaining to the embassy would do. I hope you can light a fire under Delbros and have them shake the palm-trees a bit and get your visa to you ASAP. Good luck, you so richly deserve it.

If she can't get her conditions lifted after 2 yrs because I'm not in her life, then her visa status would be terminated?

Which would relieve the co-sponsor of olbligation?

Technically, I think the answer to that question is NO. Plenty of illegals have obtained govt. benefits. Practically, if she's no longer in your life, I would suspect she'd probably be out of the country, thus relieving you and co-sponsor.

Yep. How young is he? If he's never been married before, this isn't exactly the best circumstances to finding a life partner. The long distance and cultural differences are enough for a couple to deal with as it is. I hope he'll do the right thing and move on, now matter how much he may love this girl, he'll get over her and eventually realize that he did the right thing. Good luck in helping him figure that out. smile.gif

Not saying I disagree with your rational analysis, but I will say that it is real easy for you and I who have successfully navigated the immigration waters and are now in a loving relationship to tell someone else to "forget about her and move on." Based upon your research, and having gone through the process myself, if the paperwork appears in order, and the girl is "coached-up" (as we all did) for the 5-minute interview, I'd say press-on if it truly is a "love" thing and not a "lust" thing.
