K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK2 Return to Home Country for Custody Visit
But its my understanding that there is a wait between the day that you get married, til the time he gets the green card.
I read where you can not leave the US during this period, without prior approval.
If you can only enter the US one time on a K2, and he is here but is waiting on the adjustment of status, how does he get out and then get back in?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK2 Return to Home Country for Custody Visit
The son of my fiance is required by custody agreement, to return to Canada to visit his father twice a year.
My question is, after the K1 and K2 move to the US and I marry the K1, while we are waiting on adjustment of status, what will I have to do/fill out to enable the K2 to go back to Canada for visitation, and then return to the USA. Will this be a problem?
thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a Native alphabet other than Roman letters

Does she write her name in Russian letters normally? I would say yes if that's how she normally writes her name and no otherwise. Just my opinion though, I could be wrong.

She writes her name in English.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a Native alphabet other than Roman letters
My fiance is from Canada. She is a Candaian citizen. She speaks English.
However, she was BORN in Moldova, and so she can speak Russian.

At the bottom of the G-325a where it asks...If your native alphabet is in other than Roman letters, write your name in your native alphabet below.

Does that pertain to her do you think?
Should she be writing her name in Russian in that box??

Im thinking that it should be ignored because she is a Canadian citizen so wouldnt English be her native language?

Yes, each country has its own length of validity for their police report, however, the embassy will accept them as long as they are from within the past year, correct?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate
Well I know that you need a police cert for any country that youve lived in for 1 YEAR (not 6 months) or more since age 16, but I was just curious if the fact that she has been a Canadian citizen for 20 year was worth anything. Especially since she hasnt even been to either of those countries in tose 20 years.

My fiance lives is Canada. She has been a Canadian citizen for 20 years.
However, she was born in Moldova and lived there for 18 years, and she also lived in Israel for 1 year.
Does she really still need a police cert from Moldova and Israel if she has been a Canadian citizen for 20 years?

I should note, she has been a Canadian citizen for the PAST 20 years.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certification from Israel
We are going to call the embassy this week, but I was just curious if anyone has any experience with this.
My fiance is expecting this to be a big hassle, so I did some research on it and deiscovered that Israel will not send it to yo directly. Which, if thats the case I would think that I will have to wait to get a case number from NVC before we apply for it.
I dont like the thought of that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certification from Israel
My fiance lives in Canada. She has a Canadian passport/is a Canadian citizen. However, she lived in Israel for a year, so we need to get a police certification from there.
We have received NOA1 in October 2012, and we are going through Vermont. We are currently awaiting NOA2.
Can anyone give me suggestions as to the best way to get the Israel cert? From what I have read, Israel will only send the cert to an embassy.
But we dont have a case number yet for NVC, and, don't know whether we will be going through Montreal or Vancouver.
Is there a way to get the police cert sent directly to us so that we have it when we need it?

Middle East and North Africavisa interview
Your brother is in AP so nobody knows how long it will take. It can be a few weeks or months. But you can do inquiry with consulate once in a week. You can also call DOS to know his AP status. This is a like Wait & Watch game. Good luck.

For native alphabet ,write down your name in your language. Like in hindi or gujju. If your birth certi is in gujju then use gujju.

And yes u can write all information with CAPS.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy u guyz do IR-1/CR-1 instead of DCF in ur home country??

Would somebody explain to me that, If we file I-130 in USA it takes total about 7 Months for the whole process to get Visa, and if you wants to do DCF you are living abroad for 3 months and waiting to file the petition and then 3 months to get the Visa so this makes 6 months total to get the Visa, calculate the difference it is only 1 month. so really not a big difference. I hope this helps.
Thank you

Hi davis, i want to let u know that if you file I-130 in USA it takes not 7 months, sometimes it takes 8 to 9 months for whole process. While in DCF it requires 3 month residency and it takes maximum 3 months to get the visa.So total 6 month. So here the different will be 2 to 3 months. Now in DCF the main advantage is that atleast you can live 3 months with your loved one( (L) ),if you have enough off from your work. While in USA case , you have to live separate from your loved one for almost 8 to 9 months.

So there is benefit in DCF for USC. USC can live with his/her loevd one for 3 months and they have to be separate only for 3 months!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy u guyz do IR-1/CR-1 instead of DCF in ur home country??
@Jesal : Hummm thats good that u r feeling good. But here i want to add 1 more news which i got it after to much research and after contacting too many people who went through DCF in march to mid july period. One was that there were some lucky couples whose application was accepted by male officer without any job or anything. While most of the other couples are rejected by a lady officer. So now its confusing???Why it was like that???? :bonk:

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy u guyz do IR-1/CR-1 instead of DCF in ur home country??
@sachinky: But many people did DCF in past and some are doing right now without any taking any job in india, bank account or an electricity/phone/utility bill. Now we can say sometimes it depends upon our luck... :star:

And you are right,if u are not able to get off from the work, then DCF is not for you.As i described above the example ,DCF is only for those who are coming here for marriage and some fun rather than going back to usa immidiately.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy u guyz do IR-1/CR-1 instead of DCF in ur home country??
@Jesal : Yes i know that matter. Actually they started to not accpeting applications from March to Mid July. As i heard that during this period they have lot of immigrant applicants so they decided to accept only those application in which the USC is working here in india or USC often visit india. So in our case i was also scared and tensed before going through DCF.So,i have sent an email to New delhi to clarify this. And after that i went to new delhi with some hope and we got success. Then i heard that from mid july to up to this nobody is rejected. They are accepting all applicants.

Note:Hi, still make sure that DCF is runing in New Delhi or not and what are the current requirements before u took this decision of DCF.

Good luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy u guyz do IR-1/CR-1 instead of DCF in ur home country??
Hi Loto , thats why i was confused about that why people frm India are not doing DCF??? Even if it is the fastest process.

Lets see below example:

If USC coming here for marriage in india, then suppose he/she will come atleast 3-4 weeks prior to marriiage. Then suppose 3 weeks will take in marriage and the next process of family events. After that suppose u guys gone for Honymonn 1-2 weeks. And after that 2 weeks it will take to collect all docs, like marriage certi and all.

If we count now then the USC has completed almost 10 weeks for all above events. Now USC has to spend only 2 weeks more for his/her sweetheart. And thus USC will complere 12 weeks, means USC has now completed 3 months. Now for the DCF the 3 month recidency period will be counted from USC's arrival date in India. So now USC and his/her spouse can go for DCF in New Delhi.

Suppose u have successfully done DCF,then now within 1 week USC can go back to USA and start the preparation for Affidavit of support,Bank letter and Job letter. Now the Spouse of USC has to live without her/him only for around 3 months.

So guys,is it not so nice?? Is it not so quick???

@Loto : Yar..i cant believe that u dont abt this DCF and the 3 months requirement as ur active member(like as admin),of VJ.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy u guyz do IR-1/CR-1 instead of DCF in ur home country??

Yes. I wanted to add this point, but Bobby did it. Some petitioner will have better income in the foreign country and they are fine. If not, they will need to find out co-sponsor to execute the affidavit of support.

Loto

Hi folks, in India now the residency requirement for USC to file a petition is only 3 Months now. After filling petition USC can go back to USA and start his/her work.So there is no need to prove them that USC has the reason to move back to USA. After moving back to USA, USC can start the work of Affifavit of support. And there is no additional documnts ,proofs require in DCF. Its the same process like u do in general CR-1 process by USCIS. The main thing in DCF is ,there is no word like NVC .Whole process handled by local consulate. Oh and if u doing in gujarat, india then to get PCC from ahmedabad there is no HEADCHE in DCF,because u have already interview letter in hand.

So i dont think so there is any complexity in DCF.Its nice smooth and quick process.

Hi..guys & folks. I have little confusion so i want to know the reason from everybody. I see many people are doing IR1/CR1 from USA rather than doing DCF in their home country. As we know that DCF(Direct Consular Filling) is the fastest way ,then why u guys are went/going through the USCIS process?? :o

Sorry abt the question, but for information i want to know. Is there any reason ?? Or personal reason?? or what?? PLZ everybody post their answers here.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1- 221(g) with AP - Questions?
First try to get all those evidences which are related to ur wedding & honeymoon, because they need these evidences. You can send those hotel receipts , plane tickets ,any restaurant bills , pictures and all. After that u can also include ur anniversary related evidences. But IMO , concentrate more on prior evidences.
Oh GOA was also one of the place in our honeymoon..its awasome.

Thank you so much for the info.

I do have a question - the hotels we stayed at only have his name on it. Would that be ok? Should I even submit it? I don't want to complicate anything.

I'm definitely sending in cards, emails, chats, lots of pictures. We are looking at citibank here to open a NRO account. Bank of America wont add a foreign spouse to my account because they need to be physically present to sign.

Yes,you can send that hotel bill and dont worry abt only the name of ur husband on it. Because it can include any name from both of you, that will be fine.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1- 221(g) with AP - Questions?
Hi sorry to hear abt ur 221g. AP means Administrative Processing. It means that they give a documnet(221-g) and they check marks those items which they need.
In your case they need some proofs to prove bonafied marriage. Just try to get all those things which you have listed and after that submit it to VFS and after checking those documents they will send your husband's passport with VISA in mail. This process can take any time (2 week to various weeks), depending upon ur luck. So just be calm & be positive. All will be fine ,trust me. Just try to gather all evidences (emails, chat logs, any cards, phone bills, honeymoon picks & other picks etc) as much as you can and send them asap.

A very good luck for ur journey.God bless u guys.

If your passport is older than 6 months, then i think you should have to also get PCC(police clearance certificate) from local district police stattion. I think you only need this pcc for the current address where u r residing now OR from that address which is in ur passport.

Hi...you dont need to make 50k for sponsoring your wife. You actually need around 18k to 20k. Even if you are not able to make this figure then dont worry u can take any one as a co-sponsor. I think you need to read the following thread in detail,so you will get the idea about your future process of how to bring your spouse to US. Please spend some time on it and read it. Good luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisa Interview

Neal, A slight variation here :star:

Jacy can do the medical before the interview and carry the sealed enevelope to the Consulate.

His wife can visit the local VFS at Cochin with the appointment letter to pay Rs.387 and get the receipt. Since their (like ours) docs are at NVC, they don't have to submit anything including photocopies to VFS.

Loto

I agree with you LoTo. But OP's timeline is not in detail so therefore i told him to submit all things.LoTo if you have medical exam result then they ask for it.Because one of my friend did this normal IR1/CR1 process. At that time his wife has submitted medical exam result and Rs.387. So i think if you have medical exam result ready then you can submit it at VFS or you can carry at interview time.
