Hey I understand your need to vent (even if some other people on here don't). And I thank you for posting because I bet you anything you have saved at least one person similar grief!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionThis is so painful~
Keep checking your mail box- I wouldn't be surprised if you got something in the next day or two! Good luck- I know it is very painful and difficult waiting. We've only been waiting about 7 months (RD 8/5/08) but as I see more and more of the VSC/CSC transfers getting approved, I'm getting more and more anxious as well! Citizenship next in late June, then we're off this crazy roller coaster!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCustoms issues - coming back into the USA
I'm really sorry that happened to him- a similar situation happened to my husband while he was with me and our two American children in August. It was terrible and I was so angry I swear it's a good thing we had the kids with us or I would have ended up arrested! They were nasty and awful to my husband and his green card wasn't even expired at that point! We won't travel on the expired green card with extension- I know loads of people do without any problems but I won't take the risk. Too upsetting. I will never go through JFK again until my husband has his American passport.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow often do you check your mailbox?
AntandD,
We are pretty much on the same time scale- similar wait time, similar transfer time, similar mail/email/VJ checking time....maybe we'll both get approvals at the same time (today!) star_smile.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751: Travelling again while case pending and soon approved...
After having the experience of spending months and months without one's spouse, while pregnant, going through the K-3 visa process, then again having the experience of being detained for an hour with your small children in a little holding room with no one willing to answer any questions or explaining why you aren't being allowed to smoothly re-enter the country with a legal and valid green card, putting a vacation on hold for a little bit til you get all the beaurocracy out of the way seems like more of a minor inconvenience in my opinion. If that "bugs" some people then don't do it. But some of us have had a much different experience. Italian in NYC just count yourself lucky you haven't had issues re-entering. Enjoy your 3 vacations this year- here's hoping you have a smooth entry all three times you re-enter the US. whistling.gif

I think you should hope that your card comes in the mail before you leave- put off leaving as long as you can. It "seems" to be running between 30- 40 days after transfer based on other people's timelines but then you have to wait for the card. Knowing you tend to worry and be anxious (by the sound of your posts) and that you are having a high risk pregnancy, I think if the card doesn't arrive you should cancel your trip. If you are anything like me, you won't enjoy the trip anyway because in the back of your mind you'll be worrying about it the whole time. I wish you lots of luck and support whatever your decision turns out to be! star_smile.gif

I'm sorry for all of you still waiting- it is not fair and Vermont does SUCK! Although I am happy we were transferred to CSC (who wouldn't be) I do agree that they should have sent people waiting the longest first. It's not fair and I know how frustrating it is to see people who applied WAY afterwards get approvals so quickly. Keep the faith and here's hoping you all get approvals very soon!

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussiondual citizenship (UK/US) for baby ?
Our daughter is a dual citizen. We sent her American birth certificate to the British embassy in NYC, along with the fee (I think it was $200), proof that her father is British (his British birth certificate and photocopy of his passport) as well as our marriage license, and they generated a British birth certificate. We then applied for her British passport. She is considered a US citizen when we are in the US, and a British citizen in the UK. We think she is a lucky little girl. Good luck to you! It's a very simple process to register your baby's birth with the British embassy.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAfter 15 months..... we get
Do you have any envelopes addressed to just you and to just him? I sent in a bunch of items indicating either my name or my husband's name to show we had stuff mailed to the same address.....
The US immigration system is very frustrating- not sure about now but when I moved to the UK to marry my then- fiance it took a few days by mail (no interview) to get my UK fiance visa and then three hours at Liverpool to get my permanent residency card with full work permission. It was so easy and stress- free! I am really praying for you guys to get this straightened out as soon as possible- you are now the main reason I keep checking this board- I really feel for you! Take care! good.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionApproved in 63 days!!!
Congrats on the speedy (very very very speedy) approval. It's gotta feel like a kick in the teeth to those that are waiting- and have been waiting for over a year now though.......the whole situation is very hard on people and I really feel for those that have been waiting. In my opinion, people with these sorts of extremely speedy approvals might want to have some empathy on those that have been waiting and not post threads such as these- by all means tell people you are approved and everyone will celebrate with you- but perhaps keep the speediness to yourself or at least not use it as a headline. That's just my opinion and I'll probably get raked over the coals for it- those people who are still waiting might have more of an opinion. We're done so it's not personal to me, but I just feel really bad for a lot of the people waiting forever on here.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioncute, funny, unusual, interesting things sent with I-751
I sent in a handmade anniversary card my daughter made. I also sent in a letter my father-in-law mailed to us when our daughter was born telling us how happy he was with the addition to the family. I also sent in a letter my sister-in-law in England sent me that discusses the planning of the large Christening party my husband and I planned and threw in England for family and friends. I'm sure the financial items play a large role- but showing that you have an emotional LIFE together is also important. These little things prove the true love commitment. Anyone can open a joint checking account for a few years and file taxes together...but a child's innocent writing about a step-parent, the process of a family Christening, the pleasure a grandparent has in the birth of a child and other sorts of emotional photos/letters/etc prove a true and real commitment. If they aren't looking for those sorts of items, the whole process is just a bogus financial exercise that can be faked by anyone.

QUOTE (LastSurvivor @ Apr 5 2009, 07:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Should I call? We are leaving April 15th for Thailand. We still have 9 days to get the magic letter and with a LOT of luck the PGC in the mail but I'm not feeling to optimistic. I'm also sweating that while we are away we will get a nice little RFE or letter for an interview in Atlanta. I guess as long as we have the one year extension letter all will be okay and someone will be checking the mail for me. wacko.gif I just knew with a transfer date to CSC of 2/25 that all would be perfect with the world. Certainly did not expect it until after the trip if it had stayed at VSC. It really is NEVER easy.

LS

Don't forget to bring your biometrics letter with you if you don't receive the card before you go.......just so you don't get any grief as a couple of people have mentioned on another thread. I'll be hoping and praying you get the card before you go!! Have a lovely time in Thailand- somewhere I've always wanted to go!
