Still haven't received my card :( ....It was mailed on May 25....



That's so strange. You were almost the first person who have been approved in August & You haven't received your card yet.
GC comes with Priority Mail with delivery confirmation without signature. If you haven't received a text and/or an e-mail like following :


Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED


Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production


The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on May XX, 2012. You should receive your new card within 7 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283.


then there is something wrong, I would call the Customer Service & find out. Also, FYI USCIS does not get involved in the production of Green Cards but a private company in Corbin, KY. So your letter containing your GC should be mailed from Corbin, KY not St.Albans, VT.

You are right, partner. I've got an e-mail that says my GC was picked up by USPS yesterday, June 11. I think I will receive it on Wednesday, exactly 1 week after the approval. That is perfect, because I will be leaving to Turkey on June 25, Monday.

I guess I will have a nice vacation, No More USCIS Worries !...... You have a nice vacation too in T&T.

"Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On June 11, 2012, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.


Hopefully I"ll get it within this week.

You should get it by now, that's weird. USCIS sends Card with Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation, so you should know when it is going to be delivered.
If you haven't gotten the e-mail about this confirmation you don't know where it is then.


Below it is a real example from one of my friend's GC renewal (I-90) (USCIS has sent 4 e-mails)


1st e-mail:

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On May 1, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.


2nd e-mail:

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On May 3, 2012, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

3rd e-mail:

Application Type: I90 , APPLICATION TO REPLACE ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on May 3, 2012. You should receive your new card within 7 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

VSC Adjudication is so much improved recently & It is funny that now card production speed is good too. If you look at the list of August filers, card receiving date approximately takes 12 days after the approval.
I guess everything started with August-2011 filers. I hope I will get my card too before I leave US on June 25, Monday for a 5-week vacation. Hopefully next week or the week after. I don't want to show so many papers like Extended NOA and Approval NOA along with the expired card. I was approved on June 01, so according to statistics I should receive by June 13 maybe little bit later, I will let you know guys. Have a nice & happy summer !....

Hi Everyone. I'm a Feb 2012 filer for my wife with the VSC. Can someone who filed with the VSC tell me what is the timeframe for interview in regards to your initial filing date and/or bio date? Thanks. I'm trying to gauge if it's a good idea to travel around Sept.


February filer will probably adjudicated sometime in December, so you won't hear anything until December anyway.
You will be perfectly fine for your vacation in September. Mine took almost 10 months (10 months -10 days from NOA date).
Btw, when USCIS starts adjudicating your folder then they decide if they want to call you for an interview.
They give you at least 5-6 weeks notice before the interview anyway.

Every step of the way right from the fiancee visa they have always taken their sweet time with my case! I'm hoping it all gets approved without a hitch but I must admit....it does make me uneasy to see i've been left behind (TRYGGER hasn't updated for a long time so i'm assuming he/she has been approved by now).

If you look at the list KIRSTENUK, TRYGGER & CINO (me) have been skipped. TRYGGER hasn't been here for a while, we really don't know what happened.
RYUKAMI has got RFE which will take additional time. CINO(me) & KIRSTENUK are supposed to be approved very soon. I know KIRSTENUK checks in all the time.

The window opens on that day, it does not mean you have to mail on that day. If I were you, I would wait for IRS Tax Transcripts & send the package.

USCIS only accepts offical IRS Tax Transcripts not other copies of Tax Return. You fill this form & mail it, you will probably get it in 3 weeks. You can obtain this form from this link

Don' rush anything, gather all documents & mail ROC otherwise you will get a RFE, you don't want that, believe me.

If she applies in May, as soon as the window opens which will be exactly May 07, 12. She will probably go for Bio sometime in June,

also she can go earlier too as long as she has the Bio App letter. If you guys return to US before 08/05/2012, she can go & come back with the soon-to-be-expired GC in other words without extension letter.

Since she will be CSC filer, it won't take too long anyway unlike VSC which takes forever. CSC takes about 4-6 months on the average to remove ROC if everything goes normal of course.

Another thing, keep it in your mind that each individual case might be different. Nothing is guaranteed when you are dealing with the USCIS.

It is not very long yet for NOA of ROC. I wouldn't worry about it yet. Wait for Bio App. Letter & attend Bio. If NOA still doesn't arrive in the meantime.

While you guys are in US, you can make INFOPASS app. & go to local USCIS office, you can get your passport stamped with I-551 which is equivalent to the Extension Letter (NOA).

When you go to local office take the Bio App. Letter with you, they need to see that to give you 1-year extension stamp.

Bio Notice usually comes right after NOA. You can say 1-2 weeks & Bio App. is usually following month, but as soon as you get the Bio Notice, you can go to ASC anytime by walk-in.
If they create a problem, you can tell them about your situation, they should understand. If I were you I would do Bio & then leave the country with taking Extension Letter,
& also I would appoint someone to check my mail box frequently If you hear anything from USCIS while you are abroad, it can be any kind of notice (you never know).

FYI, Roth IRA is not tax-deductible. If you leave money for at least 5 years & you are 59 1/2 years old, when you withdraw this retirement fund then it is tax-free money of course if you have made a profit.

Only traditional IRA is tax deductible.

Just filling a couple of papers, they charge like $3,000. Are you out of your mind?

Hello All:

My wife and 2 step Children entered the usa on an i-130 and received their 2 year greencards. I filed their AOS on form I-797 on 10/13/11 and they had their biometric appointments in December 2011. Our case is currently listed as pending.

We also have a natural son who is a US citizen and lots of joint property so our case is fairly strong.

Can my wife and step children travel to Philippines for 2 months ??? If so what documents do we need ???

I am thinking it is our expired greencards and the I-797C notices. However, the I-797C notices only list my wife (the kids were included in her I-751 application). We have stamped I-797 notices for my wife and the 2 kids showing that they had their biometrics taken on 12/20/2011.

Will the kids be ok to travel as well as my wife ???

Any guidance will be appreciated. Thank you.

We have the I-797C notice that states "Your conditional residence is extended for a period of 1 year. During the one-year extension you are authorized for work and travel." However, the notices (we received 6 of them) all have only my wife's name on them


According to your timeline, She & your 2 step-sons together are an October 2011 VSC filer & their Conditional GCs were already expired 10/18/2011. She has 1-year extension letter (NOA) until 10/18/2012. Obviously, USCIS has made a mistake & sent multiple I-797 (NOA) notices to your wife only. They were supposed to send one NOA to your each son also & as second mistake they have sent NOA's twice.

At this point, If I were you I would make an INFOPASS & get I-551 stamps on my two sons' passport. You can travel abroad with the expired GC & NOA or/and I-551 on passport in hand. No problem, no issues..... but just in case while you guys are abroad you had better appoint someone check your mail regularly if you ever get RFE or appintment letter for possible interview.
Since you are an October-2011 VSC filer, according to VSC processing speed it will take about 9 months which means you might hear something about your case sometime in July 2012. Everything also depends when you guys are going. Good luck !.... please keep us posted.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussiondelay with time

hey guys im new to this website, i have a quick question. my wife has applied for removal of conditions at the vermont service center. they got her application on 08/01/2011. her current status will expire on 09/01/2012. according to the website the VSC is currently processing applications from May 13 2011? I find that weird because last month it said June 2011? Is it possible to go back? Im very confused. And if they are only on May it seems her current status will expire before they get to her application?

please any comments will be greatly appreciated

OK....Here are some advices for you :

1- Do not trust the processing date, it is a kind of ridiculous.

(Actually VSC is trying to finish up July 2011 filers right now, hopefully they will get the most of it done until the end of April & they can start processing August 2011 filers in May)

2- Do not trust either "Case Status Online" or "e-mail" or "text", they are all unreliable, USCIS does not update the majority of the cases anyway.

However, you can still trust old school, USPS mail system, wait for the mailman everyday :D.

Please keep us posted on your outcome. I filed for my 8 year old daughter and my ROC and am still pending (July filer). Like your scenario, I did the biometrics and she did not. I have a feeling I will end up in the same situation as you with needing to get photos for her.


FYI, the children under 14 does not have to do biometrics anyway.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionInterview for I-751 after divorce....today

I went for interview for removal of conditions
At first Immigration officer asked me to fill out G-325A. I filled out and he went thru all the past address history and my past employers with me..asked my marriage date.. Date of divorce....then he asked me the reason of divorce....he asked me if I have to submit more documents .. I did submitted more documents....then he went out to make copy of those documents.... He asked what did you try to save your marriage?? I explained him what I did..as he knows I'm from India he told me to follow the teachings of god rajnish osho.. He said it's a personal advice from me... He asked if I'm still in contact with my ex wife.. At the end he asked me if I had joint bank account with my ex wife..I said yes and I can provide you those documents if u need... Thats the only document we were missing...Then he gave me a paper saying about submitting more documents(joint bank accts statements) within 87 days..at the end he asked me if I want to say something else about my case..I said no and then we left....
I came out all confused.. Dunno what will be the next step after I submit joint bank acct documents!!!!... Can they still deny????

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionPreparing for I-751 involving divorce

I am back with more information after previous help from the forums. I have reviewed my friends info and want to share it and see what additional advice you can offer!

She is conditional resident until may 2013. Her husband and her are preparing to divorce. He is willing to write a statement about the validity of the marriage. Should he also state the reasons for the divorce and a statement stating he recommends her roc?
At this time she has a I-90 in process as her card was lost. She still lives at her and her husbands house. He has moved recently and found another woman. Should she wait to get her resident card before moving herself? And if she moves before divorce is final is their anything she needs to file for change in address?
She works now two jobs, is enrolling in college, and her only blood relatives live in us. Should she have her sister write a letter verifying marriage and include importance of having her sister clothes with her and her nieces?

Other evidence:
Joint lease - utilities inlcuded noted on lease
2011 tax return showing same address for both
statements from four others about legitimacy of marriage
joint bank account showing activity and husband as benificiary
A seperate bank account with her husband listed as benificiary
life insurance policy with him listed as benificiary
And 3 photos

Should she list specifics for reason marriage disolved on her cover letter?
They were only married for 16 months so far but are now separated. How should document changing benificiary info on accounts, life ins, closure of joint account. So she will be filing I-751 with waiver and by herself other than her husbands letter. Is she overlooking anything?



This list looks good, she doesn't need to explain why she got divorced, this is the question IO usually asks during the interview. Even if she forgets to send more additional documents, she can always present them to IO during the interview. Just tell her as soon as she gets the divorce decree, send the ROC with a waiver. Since they need the photocopy of the GC, she can send the photocopy of I-90 receipt that she has already applied for replacement.
Tell her also to get the official Tax Return, IRS Tax Transcript (Form 4506-T) by following this link https://sa2.www4.irs...of-tra/start.do

Earlier she sends she will be better off, because even without RFE and/or interview this is very lengthy process like 6-9 months depends on which service center. CSC takes about 6 months & VSC takes about 9 months usually under normal circumstances nowadays but again every individual case might be different.

My son who was 16 yr old travelled with me to US and got the conditional GC along with me.

Now he is 18yr old and time to remove conditions.

Do we submit one I-751 form with him listed as kid who travelled along with me or do we submit two I-751 forms one for me and another for him?

I just posted this under another thread here it is :

First of all, you are going to remove ROC not your son. He will actually inherit the Permanent Residency through you & you will get it through your spouse.


Here are the steps you should follow :

1- You are going to file just one I-751 & list your son on section 5, No paperwork for him,

2- Write just one check in the amount of $675 (Application fee $505+Bio fee for her $85 & Bio fee for him $85),

3- Now Biometrics rule is, If he is under 14, No biometrics needed but if he is 14 and older, he has to do Biometrics.

Since he is now 18 he has to do Biometrics also.


In any case, you still have to pay $85 for him whether he goes for Bio or not (This does not make sense to me, it is like highway robbery)

You have to file ROC in 90-day window before your Conditional GC expire (USCIS does not take your son's Conditional GC expiration date into account anyway).

Don't forget to send the photocopy of his GC along with yours.
