K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInfluenza Vaccine

The original was done 4/2011 in Egypt. On 2/29/12 we went to a civil surgeon to make sure all shots were up to date for our AOS. The CS didn't mention a Flu Shot as he completed the I-693.

if the original medical is done outside of flu season then the flu shot isnt needed for AOS. the flu season ends on March 31 so your original medical was outside of flu season

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInfluenza Vaccine

I went on February 29th to see if I needed any shots updated for the I-693 and the Doctor never mentioned anything about getting a Flu Shot. I needed the TD only.

because it wasnt flu season when you had your original medical i would imagine

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInfluenza Vaccine

I assume that it is just isn't given to adults within the UK.

its all rather confusing if you ask me lol. Inky could well be right and the nurse got it wrong... but then again it could be more country specific. either way... Td is fine :)

i just copied this from Nich-Nick who understands it all far better than me...

"Tdap includes Tetanus, Diptheria, acellular Pertussis (not Polio). You need T and d within the last 10 years to pass AOS.

Pertussis is a once in a lifetime shot, so if you had it as a baby, then a Td gets you past AOS. If you didn't have proof of DTP (baby version) then you might be given Tdap to cover the pertussis requirement.

The capital letters I used medically mean big doses of vaccine and lowercase letters mean smaller doses. Studies have shown some adverse reactions to D and P when given to adults, so the d and p mix like Boostrix were developed for adults. USCIS will accept Td or Tdap or DT or DTP or DtaP."

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInfluenza Vaccine

Pertussis is very much given to adults!! parents need it to not give pertussis to their babys / kids, That would kill them if they caught it from their parents. I know 5 American adults alone this year who got pertussis (not the vaccine the actual disease) already and its only early march.

That nurse is not educated properly.

but its not a requirement for the K1/AOS... Td alone is good enough

"he or she is required to receive tetanus and diphtheria toxoids vaccine (Td) or tetanus and diphtheria toxoids and acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap)".

Td or Tdap - Maybe not available in the UK, so get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for AOS
MMR (if born in 1957 or later) Get a second shot 4 wks later if you have time
Varicella ? Not routinely given in the UK ; a history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam.
Influenza - During flu season only, October 1 through March 31. This was a new recommendation dated November 2010 for all ages over 6 months. Older lists will say flu shots for over age 50. It changed.

EDIT: looking at your timeline then by the time you get your medical you will need the 2nd MMR shot if you had the 1st last week... but you wont need the Flu shot as it wont be Flu season.

dont know about having the medical in the US but im guessing it will have to be done in the UK as they send the results straight to the embassy

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSending forms for K1 once NOA2 is recieved
you cant do anything without your "LND" case number and that is issued a day or two before your case leaves NVC. you can schedule your medical once you have your "LND" case number but i wouldnt advise sending any forms back until your sure the embassy has logged your case in to the system. if you look at my timeline it was only a week from my case leaving NVC until i received packet 3

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApplying for a K-1.. When to introduce to co-sponsor

Thanks for all the quick responses.

Me and my fiancee have spent a large amount of the time together both in the UK and the US, so we have a lot of evidence in things like boarding passes, passport stamps, photos, e-mails, theme park tickets etc.. So I guess supporting letters will not be needed. With the amount of evidence me and my fiancee have, I would be so frustrated to then get an RFE, however, no need to over-compensate I suppose!

Like Helen has said... let the co-sponsor see the forms and read the instructions so she knows what it entails and what evidence she will need to gather

good luck

no they just gave it back to him. during the exam he said that the doctor told him everything looked great. i googled the black holes and its says there gas bubbles in the stomach but i think his just over reacting.

if there was any problem whatsoever then they would of told him to see a doctor. if they said it looked great then it will be fine... and that black hole is probably supposed to be there lol.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am stressing out...putting together package to send him for the interview

1. I have my NOA2 and my Receipt Number letter from NVC, but I cant seem to find my NOA1..is this a problem? Does this HAVE to be inclded? NO

2. My certificate of Dissolution of Marriage that I sent in my original I-129F petition is dated as issued on May 2, 2011 (not my divorce date btw, this is just when i requested a copy, I have been divorced for 7 or 8 years) BUT since sending it out, I must have requested another copy, because the original one I have here is dated as issued on July 25, 2011..do you think this will be a problem?? NO

3. Do I need to send him more passport pics? I have one, that I was going to include anyway, just not sure if I need to send more. NO

4. Does my I-134, Affidavit of Support, need to be notarized ? NO

5. Interview is April 18th...my new Letter of Intent is dated March 15th, is this too soon? Should I date it closer to the date of interview? NO

6. I am including a letter from my employer, tax returns from 2012 and 2011, last 3 pay check stubs...is this enough? YES

7. I dont really have "official" paycheck stubs, because I get direct deposit, my company is based out of the UK, so my stubs are emailed to me...not very "official" i guess...do you think this might be a problem?? NO

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 or not I-134

I did send update financials for the embassy interview. The interview never ask for them. The actual interview for (then Fiancée ) wife and step daughter was less then 10 mins.
Maybe part of the reason the service wanted me to do the financials was to be sure I would be able to follow thought later.

im surprised your fiancee wasnt asked for updated info but i think your right... the visa service people just wanted to make sure you wasnt wasting your money and there time by having you file the I-129F if you couldnt meet the financial requirements later. i think they where taking a chance by supplying the I-134 at that time but it worked so its all good
Dan & JenniMaleEngland2012-03-15 21:05:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 or not I-134

But my service had me fill out the I-134 with all the supporting information. The application and final visa approval went ok except for a very stupid mistake that was easily fixed with an RFE.

timeline also says that the OP is already in the US.

they have to be exactly 2"x2". I had mine done in the US but I have just noticed on the way to work that there is a photograph that does them, he has a photo shop on Lower Abbey Street just beside the luas stop ;)

there might also be a photo booth in the embassy as there is in London

yes my uncle is a USC. has lived/worked there and has been a USC as long as i can remember. i was under the impression that ANY USC can be the co-sponsor... doesnt matter if it is my family member, his family member or just a friend.

let me know now if i am wrong...

also i was under the impression that since my uncle lives in a different state than my fiance, this also doesnt matter the co-sponsor can be from anywhere in the US....

you are correct

both your sponsor and your co-sponsor will fill out an I-134 each. then if both of them provide you with the most recent tax return and W2, a letter of employment, and a few months pay stubs then you should be fine. if your co-sponsor is going off income alone then no bank statements are needed.

yes your freakin out on him for nothing lol. unless the sponsor or co-sponsor are using savings to meet the requirements then a bank account isnt needed or asked for. plus his financial information isnt important seen as you need a co-sponsor anyway

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F documentary proof for foreign interview: passport / birth certificate originals required?
i dont care how any other country does things... this is what the London embassy website which is specific to the UK says...

http://london.usemba..._documents.html

Divorce Decree or Death Certificate: Applicants who have previously been married should be prepared to submit evidence of the termination of the marriage (i.e. divorce decree or death certificate). Original documents or certified copies are acceptable.

"Applicant" as in the visa applicant/intending immigrant

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F documentary proof for foreign interview: passport / birth certificate originals required?

If you are USC and have had a divorce... A photo-copy of divorce decree was ok for 129 application... however an original must be present at interview. This is the only exception I am aware of...?

i was never asked for Jenni's original divorce decree at my interview

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F documentary proof for foreign interview: passport / birth certificate originals required?
all the US citizen should send to the UK is the I-134 (sponsor and co-sponsor if needed) and supporting evidence like tax return, W2, letter of employment.... that is it. no original or copy of the passport, birth certificate or anything else from the USC is needed. the UK embassy do not even want to see proof of ongoing relationship.

have a good read through this...

We only copied the pages with our pictures and entry/exit stamps. Neither were in colour. We were approved without a RFE.

Has your US Fiance(é) been to visit you? In that case, you SHOULD include their passport copies too.

My fiancée has visited me, yeah. Since you got approved without an RFE, I'll follow what you did and include the photo pages too. We'll be copying her passport too to show the trip. Thanks!

we only copied the entry/exit stamps and the bio page too and we didnt get an RFE... an entry stamp alone isnt enough. so long as everything is clear and legible then i dont think it really matters whether it is in colour or not

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F evidence and documents

I'll still be taking a bunch of evidence to the embassy. Saying that, i've been twice before to be interviewed for Artist Visas to tour with a band and the interview mainly consisted of.

"So you're a band?"
"Yes"
"What kind of music"
"Punk Rock"
"How long have you done it for"
"6 Years"
"Great, you've been approved!"

Fingers crossed it isn't much different!

it isnt much difference at all... they wont look at any evidence of ongoing relationship at the interview.

i wanna make this clear to all UK members... the embassy is not interested in proof of ongoing relationship so concentrate on the things that they do want

What should they include? Just that they've been witness to the both of us in our daily activities, and can attest to our relationship being true & valid? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp with DS 230 EXPIRED 2 DAYS BEFORE MY INTERVIEW
this is from a thread from a couple of days ago...

That isn't a form expiration date. Forms don't really expire, but are sometimes replaced when needed. That date shows when the form must be reviewed by the Office of Management and Budget (hence OMB date) for the Paperwork Reduction Act. The public has a 30 or 60 day period in which they can comment when the form is in review. They review the stated amount of time it takes to complete the form and if the form asks you for more information than is needed for the stated purpose of the form. Like if the I-134 asked your religion or hair color that would not be pertinent to a form agreeing to support an immigrant or visitor so the review would determine the form asked too much information from you. If all is well with the form, it isn't revised but it will get a new OMB date for when the next review is due.

Short answer: The form isn't going to expire. Use it.

It will not pose a problem; you didnt get the binder when they mailed it back because they trashed it. When they receive a petition they arrange it the way they want it arranged.

not that stupid a question... for my country of birth i didnt know whether to put "England", "United Kingdom", "UK", "Great Britain", or "GB". i eventually went with a mixture of "UK", "United Kingdom", and "Great Britain"... whatever would fit in the box on the form i was filling out haha

proof of having met within the last 2 years is all that is needed for the I-129F petition and you have strong evidence so i wouldnt bother with proof of ongoing relationship at all.

before you rush off to find all these forms to fill out you really need to talk to someone with knowledge of your specific embassy as they are all different in what forms they require and the way they do things. for a K-1 it might be some if not all of DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, DS-230 part 1 & 2... there might also be others that Moldova requires.
