K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGoing Insane

No need for me to call the misinformation line. You do not have to send in a front and back copy of your social security card to be approved for the K-1 petition. Showing my SS card was not needed at any point through filing the K-1 petition, my husband's K-1 visa interview, or when filing AOS and the AOS interview for my husband to get his green card. I was pointing out that I have never seen it asked for and it is not required, since you were essentially telling the OP he needed to send that in with his I-129F and he does not.

Copy of your SS card is not needed or required.

 i have never seen anyone that has sent in or even recommended sending in a copy of the SS card

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGoing Insane

If I wanted to prepare all the forms for the next step (all the ones I mentioned below) am I able to fill all of these out myself and print them? Such as the DS-156, where it cannot be saved. The problem is, my fiance will not be able to obtain these forms and fill them out accurately without me. So I would like to have them signed and prepared in advance when I go see her in one week.

your already going insane over just filing the I-129F so how bout you get that done and then move your attention to what comes next??

:ot: what does "mi negro" mean please?? if i called someone a negro here in the UK then they would probably hit me but im guessing you use it as a term of endearment??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDescribe the circumstances under which you met??

I met my wife in a strip club in Escondido, California. Pretty wasted already, I thought she looked hot. We got it on right then and there with a happy ending on the bed of my pickup truck. That same night we drove to Vegas and got married. When I was sober again she didn't look as hot anymore, but #######, it is what it is.

 i would love to be a fly on the wall when a reviewer read a statement like that haha

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDescribe the circumstances under which you met??

My Fiance and I first met at the Aria Hotel, Las Vegas on 06/17/2010 while he was on vacation. After spending time together, we exchanged phone numbers and arranged to meet up again when we realized that we had strong feelings for another. Upon his return to London we stayed in touch via the internet in between visits. He has made 5 trips since we met and I have made 2 to London.

Fits into the box. Is that enough?

Damn I was about to explain how I met my wife...like this was one of those romantic threads.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPOE Refusal

Well I have a good job in the UK and I plan to return since I'm currently waiting for our NOA2 so thank you for shed light, would a letter from my empolyer help?

a letter from your employer stating that you are due back at work on a certain date, a return ticket, and pack lightly if you can. most from the UK dont seem to have any real problems but you can never guarantee entry. just be honest when asked questions and you should be ok.

good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdvice/Options waiting on NOA2

I understand the frustration, everyone here has a pretty good handle on the "frustration".

As for expedites, if it for our military men and women I am all in favor of having to wait just a little longer. Expedites are not that easy to get, those that have the need... well what the heck .... I will give my seat up on the bus for a woman also, make room in rush hour to let another car in front of me... well you get the idea.

your the reason i never get to work on time

FYI - If someone has something I could try, I would be more than willing to make an attempt...within legal bounds that is :) lol!

try sending CSC a nice christmas present :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdvice/Options waiting on NOA2

Do a service request (reason being after 5 months y calling the uscis) DIDNT WORK FOR ME, GOT THE SAME INFO I KNOW, "PENDING"

Do an infopass (dont kno how that works lol i didnt do that ) some ppl saw results

DO A CONGRESSMAN'S INQUIRY! Find your local congressman's office and call n visit to give them permission to inquire on your behalf; worked for many VJ'ers saw an approval same or next day. they person at my office said if i didnt hear back anything within 5 days. she'd call again but it wasnt needed (check out my timeline)

write them an email saying its over the 5 months mark, CSC.NCSCFollowup@uscis.dhs.gov. Be sure to provide all info, about ur case, i.e case receipt no. names DOBs etc (just got a reply today from a lady, "Linda" saying it was approved. emails them on Dec 7th and the inquiry with the congressman was made the 8th so her email was sooo late but at least we see they do check emails and get back to us)

Last option is to sit and wait my pet (but we aggressive ppl cant ever do that haha)

best of luck

Ro

none of that will work because CSC are working on june 16th petitions and not 5 month any more. a congressman will be told the exact same thing.

all the OP can do is call back every so often and as soon as they told that CSC is back on 5 months then they can put in a service request

yes sadly it is the way it works and there is nothing you can do about it. it could be worse though... you could of been waiting for 7-8 months like quite a few others have been waiting so far :)

while i cant give you any advice i do sympathise and understand how you must be feeling right now. jenni is from GA and has two young children and their father is an #######. he wont let them leave the US to visit me on vacation, we have no other option than for me to move to the US if we want to be together, and it seems like he has far more say in things than he should have considering the reasons for jenni and his divorce. some of GA's laws seem very biased towards the man if you ask me.

good luck

Your consulate website should have information on the process that you will need to follow. Venture by the Canada regional forum, many there have traveled before you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-156 and DS-156k forms

Yes i know that she will need a passport to travel to the unites states but was wondering if that is something that they will issue along with the visa to enter the united states or if it is a better idea for her to go and get a passport on her own before we receive these papers

not sure how it works in El-Salvador but she needs to get her passport now i think :)

not sure if you can fill out the forms without the passport number but she really needs to get one soon so best to do it now i think

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-156 and DS-156k forms

I have been looking up what papers me and my fiancee will have to do once we get our NOA2 approved and i found that the next step is the DS-156 and DS-156k forms. Within these forms the first box asks for a passport number. If my fiancee doesn't have a passport as of now does she need to get one before we can fill out these papers or what do we need to put in those boxes

is your fiancee the intending immigrant??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshelp!
so you filed the I-129F in July but then realised that you hadnt submitted a complete package... so you then sent in the extra information in December??

if your lucky then USCIS will get the extra information that you sent in and add it to your file and you could be approved quite soon.
if your unlucky then USCIS will send you a "request for evidence" asking you to send in the extra information again and that could add a month or so on to your approval time.
if your very unlucky you will be denied for lack of evidence and have to start all over again.

DO NOT INCLUDE "I was Visiting my Ex" Only write a brief statement of how you met. Simply said. I met her and include some information and your in Love. This is a K-1 / 129-F Petition and NOT A COURT OF LAW. There is NO NEED to Mention The Ex Wife. This should be One Page. Sign it and date it and Submit with your Petition.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease tell what does this Mean

Well I posted it in the Jamaican forum.. Do exactly what I told you. What you live on Visa journey or something? You sit and look at your computer screen so you can respond to posts to feel like an immigration attorney? Oh please get a life. Most of you people on this site are negative. I respect those who understand and are respectful.

your story changes every post you make. one minute your fiance is a rapist and you have cancelled the petition.... then suddenly it turns out you didnt cancel it but it has been denied at interview... and now it hasnt been denied but it is in AR. it doesnt matter whether someone is from Jamaica or not... they cant advise you until you get your story straight.

oh and by the way... your attitude stinks and you dont deserve help from anyone.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease tell what does this Mean

Oh, that man ain't getting here anytime soon. That's why he was denied. IF he got an interview date and then rescheduled, the petition wasn't cancelled. This is disturbing in so many levels!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease tell what does this Mean

The officer told him that after they do a background check on me they will call him back and make sure he doesnt lose the paper because he will have to bring it back with him to the embassy when they call him back. I am totally confused. Is this the Ap process or what? Was he denied or what? I was told usually when a person is denied their passport is stamped. His passport wasnt stamped and my fiance said during the interview they fingerprinted him. Please somebody let me know what this means.

i thought background checks on the USC where finished by this stage??

fingerprinting is normal.

all you can do is wait for the extra checks to take place i guess

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSkype History for free phone calls.

nothing works, I don't know if it is because we're making the free phone calls or not. It's just annoying. I don't want to go in and screen print everything. However I don't know if that'll be easier or not. I know I don't need to show every day, but honestly, we always call each other, barely instant message except on our blackberries (which I already have to go through, blackout some parts, etc) and there is a heck of a lot in that history too. But also, we just need to show proof of ongoing relationship since we applied right??

you can try this... just scroll down to my post and download it.

http://www.visajourn..._1#entry5056711

but your worrying over nothing anyway... London wont ask for proof of ongoing relationship :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen to pay Visa fee

Did you click "visa fees" like the instruction page says under "What Happens Next?" It's here VISA FEES and tells you to pay in advance. Scroll down to K Visa Applicants. Their letter is off amongst other descrepancies. To make interview process flow as easy as possible, pay before you go.

"K Visa Applicants pay the fee to the Operator Assisted Information Service prior to attending the visa interview. Instructions concerning payment will be sent to you with the appointment letter".

when the instructions on the appointment letter are wrong... who do you pay the visa fee to??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBoarding Passes for different days

You don't have to arrive on the same date. If you both were physically present in NYC on even one day, that's good enough to meet the requirement. Lay out your boarding pass, his boarding pass & passport stamp, and the one photo on the copier. Bingo! a meeting in person covered on one piece of paper. FWIW, I wrote notes in red sharpie on my pages like that. "Our meeting in NYC June 5-7, 2011" Circle the passport stamp you want them to notice if there are several on the page. I also use light yellow highlighter to emphasize names and dates so they knew what I'm pointing out. Nobody has every complained and I've just finished my fourth big packet submission (Fiance petition, Adjustment of Status, Removing Conditions, Citizenship) No RREs yet.

i have seen a few RFE's lately asking for passport stamps so make sure you include them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat needs from my fiance?

Isn't the fiance petition in the US only require my part to file and a letter of her intent? Then when she's called for interview, that's when the evidence kicks in? So the evidence will take place over there, no?

copies of your fiances passport stamps and flight itineraries, any photos she might have of you both... anything to prove you have met needs to be sent with the initial petition. then she needs to fill in the G325A and write a letter of intent. also like Robert&Karen have said... you could download all the forms for later and go over them together while in the same room
Dan & JenniMaleEngland2012-01-05 18:28:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat needs from my fiance?

G325A Form and Letter of Intent

There are things you need to bring back, Divorce Decrees and Translation or Previous Spouse Death Cert with Translation (if any applicable)
Evidences of Meeting.

I get certified copies of everything. Birth and marriage certs, ID cards, passport pictures, copy of passport, etc. While you are together copy EVERYTHING that you can get your hands on. birth certs for her children too, and a custody paper.
