my latest thing is I got transferred to the LOS ANGELES LOCAL office (both I-130 and I-129F on November 27)... today, the I-129F got touched again (November 28 last updated date).. if it does get approved soon, I have a trick for all you guys still waiting..

email the Vice President (####### Cheney) and President...

talk about how your case is over 180 days and your situation ... I did, and received a letter in the mail in about 2 weeks from them stating they will look into my case (from Homeland security, who is the boss of USCIS).. they want to keep a record of all dealings and will have a person contact me... which was yesterday (from area code 202 -- Washington D.C.).. I got to talking someone from USCIS - Homeland Security Dept.. a person called Mr. Miller... good.gif he stated there was something going to happen soon with my case..

wow, congratulations on such a speedy journey!! Guess I'm not one of the lucky ones.. crying.gif I tried calling in yesterday, and the lady laughed at me.. she laughed at how many times I called recently, and I asked her "what, do you want me to call in 1 year?"... and then she got mad and starting taking me seriously.. she said "don't talk like that, I'm just trying to help"... so sometimes you just have to push them to get stuff done.. but I don't know if she was for real or not in helping me get approved... (by faxing in a letter to her and stating I wanted my I-130 to continue, and not I-129F)... when I asked them about what kind (and for who?) of security checks.. they couldn't tell me... =( I would think they do the "background check" on me first..

haha.. thanks innocent.gif just trying to help others to what I have learned through this process.. nevertheless, it does take lots of patience even for this 1st step.. I'm mad because 200 days and not even touches.. Those "touches" were from USCIS, but I called in on 10/15, 10/16, 10/17 and pushed them... so those don't really count as real touches.. someone from USCIS was planning on helping me (fax them a letter and they said they will look at my case and approve if no problems).. but the status on the USCIS website hasn't changed yet..

What is an "appropriate expectation" then? I was figuring I would be the same as everyone else.. but a few of us in March/April are still waiting for approvals.. while people in May are getting approved... maybe I should wait maybe another 6 months for them to approve?? Pushbrk, according to your profile, you got the final interview around 239 days.. with 200 days under my belt, I should be nearly at the final interview, don't you think? My original expectations was for April 2008 for her arrival.. even that won't hit now with my new "expectations" above (of 500 days)... ######, it won't even be this time NEXT YEAR... mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif I just don't like the fact that people are getting approved ahead of us.. Congrats to the May filers who got lucky, but those were uncalled for..

I have to apologize for my previous posts... just a little uneasy today =( I'm sorry about that..

They said they were doing "security checks" on my case... I thought the "checks" (administrative processing) weren't until after you get approved (way after Packet 3 even)..

It's a trap set by them... if both of you can't REPORT to the interview, then it makes your marriage look bad.. but then she can't even come here in the first place!! mad.gif mad.gif then they have a good excuse to deny the application, probably stating "not enough evidence of bona-fide relationship".. My Honey, yes, they did security checks (background checks + credit checks too) when I got hired .. so I don't get it why they have to do it again so soon... I got hired last September... so half a year's time... also, they can just look at my SSN and look in the system for it.. not too hard unsure.gif

Urge to Race, yes, they usually do it on the beneficiary, but sometimes on the petitioner.. this is something from my previous post..

http://www.asianjour.../?c=157&a=12724

To ensure that immigration benefits are given only to eligible applicants, USCIS adopted procedures that address a wide range of possible risk factors. Different kinds of applications undergo different levels of scrutiny. USCIS normally uses the following three background check mechanisms:

Inter-Agency Border Inspection System (IBIS) Name Check – IBIS is database of lookouts, warrants, arrests, and convictions consolidated from over 20 agencies.USCIS can quickly check information from these multiple government agencies to determine if the information system affects the adjudication of the case. Results of an IBIS are usually available immediately. In some instance, information found during an IBIS check will require further investigation.

FBI Fingerprinting Check – The FBI’s Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) matches criminal history records from federal, military, and most state apprehensions. It provides information relating to criminal background within the United States. Generally, the FBI forwards responses to USCIS within 24 to 48 hours. If there is a record match, the FBI forwards an electronic copy of the criminal history to USCIS.At that point, a USCIS adjudicator reviews the information to determine what effect it may have on eligibility benefit. About ten percent of the inquiries submitted by USCIS uncover criminal history, including immigration violations.

FBI Name Checks –The FBI name check is totally different from the FBI fingerprint check. USCIS electronically submits the applicant’s name to the FBI National Check Program. The records maintained in the FBI name check process consist of administrative, applicant, criminal, personnel and other files compiled by law enforcement. Initial responses to this check generally take about two weeks. In about 80 percent of the no match is found. Of the remaining 20 percent, most are resolved within six months. Less than one percent of cases remain pending longer than six months.

For petitions and application filed in consulates, there are other security checks involved. These are: (1) Visa Condor checks which arise from information disclosed on a Form DS 157 or because a person is from designated terrorist countries like of Iran, Cuba, Syria, Sudan, North Korea or Libya; (2) Visa Mantis checks relating to an applicant, who because of his actions or background, may be involved in the transfer of sensitive technology; and (3) criminal background checks which arise from a hit in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database or from other sources.

I'm not scared of the final interview, because I still haven't gotten that far yet... no need to be scared of something you can't get to.. there still are plenty of problems beforehand..

On November 27, 2007, we transferred this case to our LOS ANGELES, CA location for additional processing. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case has been sent to our LOS ANGELES, CA location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

I really don't like America anymore.. their treatment of my case as well as treatment of China in general... not letting them into the international space station "over US Concerns"... they didn't finish the sentence.. "because they fear China will overpower them soon".. I'm going to use this as my jury duty excuse next time I get picked.. I'm just going to choose "Gulity" regardless who.. make all the Americans pay..

if you are NOT married, you can file for a K1 (fiancee visa)..

if you ARE married , you can only file for K3 (I-129F) or CR1 (I-130)...

good.gif

what do you mean "I went through both K1 and K3 visas, but not really sure which one of this option would work best for me."?

I think you may also do an "adjustment of status" (not sure, since that doesn't apply to me.. didn't do enough research on it)

YuAndDan, this is my "interview" for just getting approved.. I'm not approved yet for either one.. this is an example of what happens during a "local office interview".. unsure.gif I'll worry about the Guangzhou interview later... this one makes that too easy..

are you able to do something like this :

This interview was held with husband and wife separately after the review of documents and tax returns. The officer asked each for their house keys and marked them for comparison. The officer asked for wedding pictures. The officer then asked each to draw their bedroom putting in bed, windows, closets, TV's, lights. What color was the bedroom carpet? Where was the telephone? What color was the telephone? Was the telephone a cordless or corded telephone? When did the wife last cook for the husband? What was cooked? Where was it served? What is the work telephone number for the husband? What are their intentions for children? Duration of this interview was about an hour and a half.

and the thing is your answers for these have to match.. not even by one off..

It seems you both got approved well within 100 days... so YOU DON'T KNOW THE FRUSTRATION OF WAITING.. you can't even spell Platypus, right? dumbass.. you don't even have a timeline to help others, so what the ###### are you talking about? 5 months of waiting and you think you can outdo me?
