I wished I lived near Vermont... :crying: even though I have my "estimated" approval dates below.. I still figure for her to come around next April (April 2008)... hopefully it will be approved before then..

I never got this error.. but I hear that some people need to add "1" or subtract "1" to their MSC number... the person who entered it probably ate too many Big Macs... mmmmmm....... well, back to your question... you can try calling them up and asking if they can see your number or not..

it's because the K1 filing fee is $455 (old) and the K3 filing fee was ($170) , I-130 ($190)... the new fees are that the K1 stays the same at $455, while the I-130 is $355... so we still lose out to K-1 as well as the Temporary Workers.. crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif nothing has changed and will change for us.. We are the ones that are doing it "by the book".. K1 is uncertain because they can just divorce quickly and run away and still stay in the US... Temporary workers aren't permanent.. I don't get what the government is trying to do.. the government is a big meanie ....... booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

we are still "WORTH LESS" to the USCIS than those with K1 , and those especially of Temporary Workers (do they need to have time spent looking at their marriage certificate, and marriage history/work history? background checks are the same I would think... also, we have to fill out all those extra forms, so it slows us down even more)... as long as the company can support them, they can be approved very fast.. which would you rather have.. someone that can be approved in a couple of hours (just guessing, Temporary Workers), to someone that takes a couple of months to investigate on (us, K3 and I-130 people)...

Currently, with the new fees:

I-129 (Temporary Workers ) -- $320 + supplemental fees + fraud prevention fees
I-129F (K1) -- $455
I-129F (K3) -- $0
I-130 (CR1/IR) -- $355

I-130 may is a little more expensive than I-129, but they don't need as many "checks" and fill out as many forms as I-130, so overall I-130 costs MORE to USCIS to process (less revenue for them per person).. they will be able to process the H1, H2B visas faster than us.. the I-129 Temporary so we are still at the bottom of the pile =( crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif which will you rather have if you were USCIS? (someone that processes in 1 day, or process in 1 month time?) I don't have exact times for each, just using a hypothetical example..

Yes, that's the question... 1st part asks if she/he is in the US... if not, then 2nd part enter consulate and city where she will get the visa (my example will be "Guangzhou, China")

Congrats KevFabi  At first I thought your visa was approved or something... lol.. that was too much excitement for me.. good luck on your journey!! hopefully we all get approved soon, but it looks like even mine will take until late October - mid November now.. even my own estimates, VJ estimates, and G&A estimates will all be wrong :crying: :crying: :crying: I guess all we can do is wait.. calling them through the RFE trick will just slow them down even more.. at least wait about 90 days before something happens on the I-129F...

when you log into the USCIS Website, you can add case numbers to your "portfolio".. there are columns stating "type of application", "last updated", and a few others.. the "last updated" column will change due to touches.. meaning they just look at your case without processing/approving it..

have you created an account on USCIS yet? If not, you might not know what I'm talking about.. I'll tell you more later if you like..

Now they are relaxing the "terror level" again.. always telling everyone that they are moving down to "yellow" or "green".. why do you tell everyone? I'll give them $3,000 and approve it today  I'll go even higher if possible.. nothing is worth having to wait all this time for your loved ones.. that's pocket change compared to the wait  if everyone gave that amount, then they would have 10x (well, 9x , but you get my point , $365 for both I-130 and I-129F) their revenue amount.. wouldn't that be nice to have? too bad they aren't helping to move things along..

I take the fork and go get a hamburger  , but to answer your question... isn't good to have two applications going at the same time? Will having the K-3 process still going slow down the NVC process for the I-130? It should be different paths, so the I-130 shouldn't wait for the I-129F.. I don't know.. otherwise, you can just call the USCIS to cancel the I-129F (maybe there is a form you have to fill out?)..

don't trust the USCIS Processing Website dates.. supposedly that is the "earliest" case they are working on.. they are giving themselves a 6-month window to catch up.. I mean, they can increase the fees as much as they want... well, a reasonable amount , 2x, 3x... then supposedly the waiting time should at least be cut down in half.. isn't that right??

Hi pkewl,

just checked the USCIS website.. still updated as of June 18 =( how hard it is to update daily or weekly? Even they can just "trick" us and edit the code to display today's date instead of doing the working on December 2006 I-130s and I-129Fs... :D they are so slow in doing everything... only thing fast they do is collect our money ^_^

I'm jealous.. how come some service centers are much faster than others? VSC seems to be much faster than CSC in approving..

Hi Divine Mercy,

actually you should have a MSCxxxxxxxxxx number because you filed a K3. It should go to the Chicago office first, the it gets forwarded to the specified office of your I-130 (CSC or VSC). You can then add it to the website under your USCIS Account and it will show 2 different "cases"..

Hello (anyone?),

what is the X'fer date and X'fer location in G&A's chart? I asked that question about two times now.. it is not the "X" that means skipped step... I am betting it is when it was transferred to CSC (VSC).. mine got "received" at CSC on 6/26/2007.. can you please update?

Thanks

don't put your expectations for USCIS really high.. what will come, will come.. even Visajourney has given you a timeline (even though sometimes it's not "correct" too).. so just relax .. I will leave my "estimated" dates on my forum signature.. and we will see how close to it (or before, that will be awesome) I will get.. sort of like playing the lottery... guessing which date you will get approved.. we should have a contest , lol.. and whoever guesses closest to their actual date gets a prize

Don't keep chasing after the visa everyday... just give yourself an estimate time as to when it will arrive.. seeing as how I-130 average 4 months time and I-129F average 3 months.. If by that time something is wrong, then you can call up.. I just put an estimate on my signature to do that.. I know that we want to see our other beloved ones real soon, but chasing after them everyday won't help much.. just use a webcam to see each other for now and just keep busy.. ;) don't worry... your visa will get approved soon enough...

Hi everyone,

Even though I filed in mid-April, I haven't received any touches for my I-130 yet.. I got a lot of touches (due to the transferring to CSC) of my I-129F though.. latest update for I-130 was 4/27/07, and latest update for I-129F was 6/26/2007.. I'm seeing from other timelines an estimate of 3 months time from the time they transfer to CSC (or VSC) of your I-129F..

Mine would be :

I-130 (4 months time avg) ==>
4/27 + 4 months = 8/27/07 (estimate)

I-129F (3 months from "transfer received", not "transfer sent to another office") ==>
6/26 + 3 months = 9/26/2007 (estimate)

that's how I figure the timelines will be.. In the meantime, just find something to keep you busy with... I use Skype to call my wife everyday and also try to use webcam if I have the time.. so I can still see her, just can't be with her yet.. I'm not promoting Skype or anything.. just that you can still see each other and talk :innocent:

did you try looking at the check you sent in for the I-129F? If it has been cashed (by USCIS), then you can get a copy of the check and try to find out the case number from the back of it.. sorry guys for the long forum signature.. I just want to give people in the future who apply for a visa a better "visa journey" as to what will happen.. actually, it might be different for them too..

Hi everyone,

sorry for the late reply.. actually I just based the reading on the USCIS website =) I log into my account today (6/26/07) and it also changed... I also received the 129F NOA1 on 6/14/07.. but the official date they received it was 6/11/07.. so I bolded the "official" dates on my forum signature.. this is my latest message from them today...

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) that was transferred to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location is now pending there. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you

This is different from the first message, saying that "they are sending the I-129F to another office for processing"... this message states that they (CSC) received it.. the 1st message some of you are getting is that they are "sending" it to another office..

 you are making me confused.. actually, I think the person that just got approved had two I-130s.. one for his wife, and one for his kid.. but the I-130 for his kid got approved.. no wonder it was so fast.. you don't need to have a "bonafide marriage" evidence on that, ^_^ , but it would have been probably better to send it together (would have helped the wife I-130 too)..

Nope :crying: you have to wait about 2 more weeks (from my estimate, and others)... as you can see from my profile , I sent in the I-130 on 4/13 (Friday), so the time start for them should be 4/16.. it got entered into the system on 4/27, and I received the NOA1 on 5/29... so go figure... they aren't really good at getting the NOA1s out.. Also, there seemed to be a time gap between April and June.. they were processing the worker visas more from what I hear..

Case number is stamped on the back (along with some other numbers).. look for a number with 3 letters in the back (three letters depending on which office you sent the application into).. Look for a combo letter/number about 12 =) then just go to the USCIS Case Status page and check it =)

Thanks divinemercy1676 for your comments =) It's just an everyday normal timeline.. haha.. I try to put all the information that I need.. I am also preparing for the interview now.. going to the consulate's webpage and read over everything that is in packet 3 and packet 4.. packet 3 you can think of as "approval" package.. and packet 4 is the "interview" package.. seems like Guangzhou (the consulate where I am applying to) has more stuff in the Packet 4 than Packet 3.. You also have a very good timeline ... but the best one will be when we all get approved   then we can finally relax up until the interview.. just take your time in preparing everything and you should be fine..
