Ran the numbers this morning and amongst the numbers I watch on April 10, 2014 there were 4 RFE's and 6 approvals given. On April 11, 2014 no RFE's  7 approved and  8 ARN numbers were changed. This feels like its going to take forever. At least we know Nebraska is working...

It may be a similar sequence of numbers if your application is also located at NSC :)

Manually looking the numbers up was driving me crazy

I just did a test then, and it took me 3 minutes to look up 200 receipts. I had to take an internal delay off, and I know that I could do it faster, but can't really be bothered to code it right now :P

You're welcome :D

I hear what you are saying regarding the visa numbers, but I don't think that is exactly how they do it, thought I may be wrong.

From the larger set of 200 receipts above, I found the following (partial) results which shows some oddities:

[-] LIN1490053932    Request for Evidence      On April 7, 2014, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in
[-] LIN1490053933    Initial Review            On April 3, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, I
[-] LIN1490053934    > Not an I-130 visa <
[-] LIN1490053935    Post Decision Activity    On April 8, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PE
[-] LIN1490053936    Post Decision Activity    On April 8, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PE
[-] LIN1490053937    > Not an I-130 visa <
[-] LIN1490053938    Post Decision Activity    On January 24, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT
[-] LIN1490053939    > Not an I-130 visa <
[-] LIN1490053940    Post Decision Activity    On January 28, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT

So you can see how they are interspersing the different receipt numbers.

Anyway I'm getting a bit off topic, so back to our regularly scheduled program we go!

Ahem... hurry up USCIS.

Yes we are at the NSC.

So like others here, i've taken to checking my case number on the USCIS website regularly, as well as those case numbers around me. I kind of got sick and tired of manuallly doing this, so I created a script to do it for me. :clock:  What else am I going to do with my time while waiting for USCIS to get into gear?

For those technically minded I will have the code below, so you can modify it and run it yourself.

The output of the script looks like this (by the way that is just an example case number i'm using):

Okay so this immigration stuff has drove me completely crazy I believe. Most of us check so many numbers before us and so many after our number. I have been watching these same numbers since Monday. I am currently watching 167 numbers before me and 138 numbers after me a total of 305 numbers. Believe me it takes about 3 1/2 hours to check all the numbers. Mind you 288 of the numbers I am watching all have my same priority date of 10/29/2013. Anyways this is what I have saw in just my few days,  6 of these numbers after my number  were approved on 4/8/2014 and 2 numbers had their ARN changed.  On 4/9/2014 4 people had RFE's and 1 number had an RFE in December 2013 that showed today a post decision approved 4/9/2014. In all yes USCIS employees are skipping around there is nothing in order at all.

Let me clarify the numbers before me and after me that has been approved or have RFE's are in a big gap from my number.

I am patiently waiting for my 6 month deadline to throw out a service request for NSC. Although in the back of my mind I have a feeling that the processing times are going to change and I am going to be held off a little longer. I am suppose to be optimistic here, after all we are discussing the wonderful USCIS.

I understand completely, my friends ask ever so often how is it going with your husband. The same answer all the time it feels like forever. Not to mention my mothers text asking me often is he coming in June or July? I always think to myself or at least stay positive to my mother in hopes she is having an intuition that I am unware of. Its hard to explain the USCIS process when it only makes me more anxious.

Although I'm still waiting for my darn NOA2, I'm thinking ahead because I got bored of waiting.  LOL   :jest:

I'm hearing there is a backlog at NVC (although it's got better compared to 1-2 months ago), and it's still taking about a month to receive a case number so I have a feeling most of us will be processed around the same time at NVC.  Getting NOA2 1-2 weeks sooner or later may not make much difference.   :star:

If you're finding yourself checking https://egov.uscis.g...is/Dashboard.do 50 times a day  , you may want to read the following links instead:

http://www.visajourn...php/NVC_Process

http://travel.state....s/approved.html

I giggled because I am one of those folks who look 50 x's a day it seems. I give up ever so often and read about the NVC stage, then I get confused and go back to checking all the numbers in front of me to see if we may be close to our NOA2. Come On Nebraska!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOA 1 (e-mail, text, and hard copy) was the last, and only thing I got from the USCIS ... and that was about a week or so after filing (October 2013)

Never got notification on any transfer activity whatsoever...

Never saw anything regarding transfer activity of our case online either.

Randomly checked our case status yesterday, which I do just about only once a month, and found that it was approved (NOA 2: March 20th). Currently overseas for about another week so I won't get the hard copy until I get back to the States.

Just passing on the good word.

I hired an immigration lawyer who did all of the paperwork and had me gather most of this documentation Day 1 (one reason I am October and not September), which I am happy has been completed. I have an email out to see if anything is missing. We have not gotten her medical or court records yet because it is too early in the process. I am going to see my wife next week so I have an email out to the lawyer to see if there are any additional items I need to get while I am in Colombia. Getting excited....and PS my file of documentation sent was about two inches thick! Of course I went loco with supporting documentation! Hahahahaha

on the list of documentation did you send originals? Im wondering if I send copies like I did for the I130 petition if they will request the originals at the interview? I wont be going back to Africa until August but I am thinking that maybe way to late. I am sure with help from fellow Vj'ers I shouldn't have a problem filling out the paperwork its just the originals that I am worried about. Im waiting to see what others are planning to do.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2013 I-130 Filers

I'll tell you what guys. I feel like we are more likely to find people who are looking for answers as to why they were overlooked or not yet approved, than the people who are approved every day. I see that Nebraska is actively approving cases in July and considering they have barely any through August and September, I wouldn't worry so much about it. The people who did get approved in July seem to average about 60 days. And those same people, when they were transferred, took 6 months for transfers. We're here at 5 months getting transferred. I don't see why we couldn't expect approvals in 30-45 days. You can't look at high risk countries, and wonder why they are waiting longer than others, the answer should seem obvious.

On another note, I feel that if the beneficiary is a women, especially from a higher risk country, it makes the process less risky on the USCIS side. My personal thoughts.

It looks to be according to the spreadsheet on the transfers for NSC they have begun adjudicating September 2013 applications... OOOOOOOHHHHH our time is coming faster!!!!!!!! Slow or fast the numbers keep coming down.

Hello guys, because of we are near to approvals and NVC processing i decided to start practicing and getting ready for further procedures which is much more difficult than it was i-130 packet. So i have some questions and i want to get confirmations if i am doing ok and not missing papers. If someone knows well about NVC procedures and can answer my quick questions please notice me, i am appreciating all respond and VJ is just awesome. Maybe this forum isn't  as appropriate as another could be for my request but i am here feeling familiar and i am sure much filers from this forum are already with prepared papers for NVC procedures. Thanks

I am ready to prepare for the NVC stage too. I have been looking at the steps and it just seems to be a bit tougher then the petition for the I130. Maybe its just me and Im having some brain pauses. I agree 100% we all should be practicing and getting ready for the stage. I too would love to hear if anyone else has started preparing.

You don't really have to change your name. Besides, why can't you ask your souse to courier those documents to you?

Sure I can ask my spouse to send the documents to me. If he sends them by mail we risk them being lost or the 1 and 1/2 month wait it takes for registered mail. Perhaps the only solution will be to pay DHL to have them shipped, I guess I should get started on them soon. So it doesn't really matter if I used my married name on our I130? I did list my name as other names used. I'm just having a mental pause or a mental freak out.

Hey everyone, all this transferring and talks of a shorter wait time has me absolutely frazzled. I have spent the greater part of my day reading about the NVC stage I keep saying to myself what is this or what is that. OMG how can I make it and do it all by myself. I see where we send originals to the NVC, great I'm thinking I left all the originals such as the marriage license and his birth certificate in Africa. I had already made one of the biggest mistakes not bringing the original marriage license with me so I could change my name legally. I feel like I'm about to enter one big mess. Sorry to unload I was feeling overwhelmed and needed to vent some where.

I totally agree with you nightingalejules... most of all the Aug filers have been transferred and September filers have been now started to get the transfer.... hopefully Oct filers should get the transfers by March end.

Please help me understand the transfers, do you mean people who are at the service centers can be transferred to or just those at the NBC?

LovingAdigunsFemaleGambia2014-02-27 09:35:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2013 I-130 Filers

The people at the call centers have pretty much no access to any up-to-date information. They will tell you that the information they have is current, and that everyone on VisaJourney is lying, or mistaken.

Here are a few facts.

The information they are quoting is out-of-date, even by their own data. If you go to the USCIS website, you will see exactly the information they just quoted you. Look at the small print. The dates they are quoting were current as of December 31, 2013. It's now almost the end of February. So they are telling you they are currently processing April filers? They were doing that 2 months ago. Yes, there are still some filers stuck, still waiting, from April. And March, and February. But they are also processing May filers, June filers, July filers and August filers. And transferring some from September.

The average wait time may be 9 months. Or rather, may have been 9 months as of December 31, 2013.  They made a promise to try to get the timelines close to their goal of 5 months by May 2014. So presumably, they are trying to catch up. There are also fewer DACA petitions going through now, which is what slowed down the process to begin with. The likelihood is that the average is actually closer to 7 months now, and making up ground.

It is to the USCIS' benefit to estimate processing times extremely conservatively. Once they go on record as saying "we are processing files from X date" or "the average wait time is Y," then anyone with a priority date before "X" or who has been waiting more than "Y" can legitimately complain and demand to know what's going on with their file right now.  Which would take a lot of time and resources away from actually processing and approving our petitions. So it stands to reason that they would not release the actual, current information.

Finally, VJ is a community of people going through this process, who have nothing to gain by lying about the status of their petitions/applications.  Our data is collected in real time, continually updated and reported.

Our data suggests that USCIS is playing with the numbers, jumping ahead and processsing the majority of cases from July and August before they completed April, May and June (possibly in order to be able to claim a dramatic drop in "average" processing times at some point in the future). We also have observed that September petitions are now being transferred to other service centers, and if the patterns we've observed hold, those petitions will start to be approved soon. It stands to reason, then, that October filers will be next. Transferred within about a month, and approved within another month or so after that.

You're right. We don't know, and it flies in the face of what USCIS is telling us. But our anecdotal data is showing a different pattern from the official line of USCIS.

I personally tend to believe us. USCIS has a reason to lie (or not lie, exactly, but not give us all the truth). We don't.

Very Knowledgeable information. I see what you are seeing with the approvals. I have even seen one Oct filer who was approved from NSC. I just try and stay optimistic believing that our time will come soon. I have to admit sometimes Ill look at the immigration timelines for NSC and one day all the but a few blocks are filled then the next time there are more transfers, this is the part that is fearful for me to think that all the transfers are going to NSC and that is why they are so slow. Im here for a reason, I pray for us all to have a swift wait time.

Hmm I've become a little paranoid about our application. I think we forgot to include a photocopy of my husbands passport or birth certificate. He's the petitioner and USC, and his passport number and social security number were included in the paperwork. Is this a big deal?

I believe I did read in the instructions to send a photo copy of the USC passport or birth certificate. I sent both I am the USC. I wonder if you could call the USCIS to see if there is a possibility you could mail them in to be put with your file.  Did you make a copy of what you sent to them? If so double check and make sure if it was sent or not.

I think I'm doing ok. I had a mini freak out a couple of hours ago because I realised it might be a problem that the seal on our marriage cert is barely visible in the photocopy... but if it's a problem then it'll be an easy RFE to deal with at least.

I'm having real trouble sleeping. It used to just be work nights because I was conscious of how little time I had left to sleep, but even on weekends I lay awake staring at the ceiling. I'm like a zombie every day and can't perform as well at work. All I can think about is my case status.

One good thing that happened this week - I sent all my DVDs and videogames to my husband and they arrived yesterday safe and sound smile.png still don't know what to do with the rest of my stuff. My books are too heavy and I don't even know how I'll pack/ship my stereo! Or my Wii... maybe we'll just have to buy replacements sad.png

We have a new work experience boy at my office and he's always asking me questions about my husband which is therapeutic in a way. His brother is married to a girl in New Orleans and he went the K-1 route. I don't remember how long ago he did it, but it sounded like it was during a time K-1s were backlogged, poor guy. Seems that as soon as one visa type goes smoothly, another goes to s***, lol.

Yep Im with ya. Sleepless nights and that constant looming RFE notice in the back of my mind. Lovely don't forget to bring your dvd player along when you come over here. I'm glad to find out that the DVD players are different. I had thought about bringing DVD's on my next visit to my husband so we could relax and watch a movie. But then again Africa doesn't have the best power supply. I can imagine getting into the movie and ooppps there goes the electricity.

Lol about the visa's. Its a work in progress I just pray they clear the back log and continue working on schedule.  I've really been watching the transfers in Nebraska and they seem to be moving at a good rate. It looks to be that they are working on some April and May transfers. I just pray they go a little faster and get to October filers ASAP....

So we are new to this waiting game, I have a question regarding the current wait time. It say 8.7 months how does one calculate or understand this wait time. For example just to make sure I am understanding it correctly. Alex and I have only been waiting 2 months since our petition. If the current wait time is 8 months does it mean we have 6 months more to wait for our NOA2. I'm just confused if the wait time goes down or up do I use our priority date or the date of the new wait time.  Please someone explain this time frame to me.

Can someone clarify if the I-864 forms are sent with packet 3? Also, when does the medical need to be booked and should I go ahead and have my DH's police check here in the UK done now?

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
