K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresstill waiting after NOA1 - advice for things to do while waiting
Go ahead and change the camera settings, but don't photoshop anything.

I've occasionally wondered whether GYE filers should pose together while holding an issue of the daily newspaper, like kidnapped hostages, to prove that they were where they said they were.

As long as you can provide a variety of fotos of yourselves together in different situations and clothing, you should be fine, si man.

Brother Wade,

Take dozens of fotos together in every conceivable situation. If you stay or go various places, procure receipts with both of your names on them.

Because of your lengthy previous visit, you're in far better shape than most couples. However, leave nothing to chance and continue to collect evidence of a bona fide relationship.

Mrs. T-B. (a new ciudadana, except for the oath ceremony!) & I are both hungering to visit Ecu, but we can't in the foreseeable future. We're envious and wish you the best.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures2nd Chances For A FIlipina

You referred to the warning signs that you chose to ignore. I was in a similar boat with the same result, but if I may, let me be very candid with you about what I have learned. I decided to divorce after 5 years of marriage because our marriage seemed to be getting in the way of her dates. Marriage has a way of making dating others more difficult I suppose. After the divorce, I decided not to date, not move forward, until I could look myself in the eyes and honestly say I had healed and was capable of being a great husband to a woman.

This part of the issue has been greatly overlooked throughout this multipage thread. A guy who is damaged, raw, hurting, or otherwise "on the rebound" will be more of a danger to a relationship than an asset to it.

Go atop the links on any VJ page, click "Embassy Info" and "Reviews: Embassy," and read thoroughly about YOUR consulate, paying special attention to the very worst stories.

From USCIS's standpoint, one in-person meeting within the last two years fulfills their criterion for approving the petition (along with eligibility to marry).

Consulates and embassies vary dramatically in their expectations. Based on your reading, you may find it extremely wise to make another visit and to front-load your petition. USCIS will not care, but the extra material could turn the tide at the eventual visa interview.

do we need to include all proves that we intent to marry in US within my arrival of 90 days with the package to be submitted with 129F form? and even i would like to know how to show intent of marry in usa? by showing ceremony function planning, catering contracts all are they need to be included in the package or these proves are to be presented on my interview?

You have asked this in a separate thread (two, actually, one of which was removed as a duplicate). Please do your reading of the Guides, Sample Forms, and previous posts -- that's what they're all there for.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow many pictures to be included in the package
What pictures are you talking about? Passport photos? Evidence of relationship?

First, read the form instructions of what to file.
Next, read the VJ Guides.

If you wish to include photos as evidence of relationship, USCIS will not care about these. They will pass them to the consulate. At your interview, the consulate will expect to see newer, more recent pictures.

The letters of intent should have been sent to Lagos by USCIS.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPresenting Evidence at the Interview
It will be some of both.

Chances are, the evidence will be handed over to a "Foreign Service National," a native who works for the consulate. The FSN will hand the information to the consul, who may or may not be able to review much of it before actually conducting the interview. Count on the "may not."

The best way to ensure that your stuff will be looked at is to front-load the USCIS petition with "evidence of bona fide relationship" and then to hand over subsequent evidence at the consulate.

Some consulates, such as Guayaquil in Ecuador, have a long history of "you brought evidence; we refuse to look at it; and therefore we're refusing the visa because you have no evidence." Go atop any VJ page and click the links for "Embassy Info" and "Reviews: Embassy." Look for YOUR embassy. Without looking for myself, I'd guess that reviews for Mongolia are rather few, but maybe not.

After your petition is approved, you can also e-mail the embassy with direct questions about their preferred protocol. Be sure that you print out your entire trail of correspondence and have it handy for the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBuy your ticket before the interview..

It depends on the consulate, situation, etc.

If your interview is already scheduled, based on the situation, you can.

If you do not understand probabilities does not mean that they don't make sense.

Probabilities are irrelevant. Reality is the sole relevance. The reality is that people who buy return tickets before the visa is in hand are playing Russian Roulette.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBuy your ticket before the interview..

I can even take this statistics further

So can I. Forget airfare prices. Take a revolver, load 5 bullets in the 6 chambers, close, spin, place revolver to temple, and pull trigger. Never EVER presume the granting of a visa, by a particular time or at all!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE IN NEED OF HELP

You should only respond to an RFE with what they specifically ask for, nothing more, nothing less.

No -- NOT always. Being able to respond to an RFE is a golden opportunity to provide not only what the RFE requires, but also to add further evidence of a bona fide relationship. USCIS will not care, but will forward the material to the consulate when the petition is approved. At tough consulates, the additional information never hurts, at minimum. The additional evidence can turn a sure rejection into a fighting chance for a visa, or turn a borderline chance into a visa approval.

(For example, I secretly hope that Ecuador filers receive RFEs so that they can pad their petition packages with additional evidence -- it's just as effective as front-loading the petition would have been in the first place, except that the information that's sent along with the RFE requirements can be newer and fresher.)

A brief cover-letter can say "Here is the ____ that USCIS requested. Also enclosed is additional evidence of bona fide relationship, for the file. Please ensure that it is sent to the consulate after the petition is approved."

For London and for other VWP countries' U.S. embassies/consulates, additional evidence beyond satisfying the RFE requirements might not be as big a deal. Regardless, VJ members should avoid misunderstanding the "one London filer to another" comment as applying universally.

There are dozens of threads on this very topic. The consensus seems to be that there is too much risk. There are uncounted numbers of places in the 50 U.S. states in which to honeymoon. Save the Virgin Islands trip for when the green card has been issued.

The above answers are insufficient.

If the visa is granted, the beneficiary enters the U.S. and must marry the petitioner within 90 days. Then, as soon as possible, file for AOS (Adjustment of Status). See the AOS forum and the Guides.
