It really inspired me to believe in the kindness of strangers, and whilst I'm so happy for everyone who has gone through this awful K1 process and is about to get their NOA2s; sadly, my fiancé has told me he isn't ready for marriage. It breaks my heart as we were sure to get our NOA2 through in a couple of weeks time, but whilst I know the only way we can be together is to get married, we've not even been together a year - and we knew we'd only be marrying for a visa. So, after a lot of crying and talking, we agreed to wait a couple more years, then reapply for the K1 visa. I can't say I'm not scared though - what if the USCIS refuse us just because we withdrew our application the first time round? I'm hoping that this kind of thing happens frequently, with newly engaged couples putting in for their K1, then withdrawing them just to enjoy their relationship a while longer before reapplying the second time a couple of years down the line. Anyway, after that rant, I just want to say - thank you for giving me hope with the visa situation, and you are all in my thoughts - the best of luck to getting your NOA2s, then getting your K1s, and then finally - marrying the one you love. im so sorry for you, but god make every things in the right way....	jokalu	Female	Guatemala	2008-11-16 18:06:00

I came to England to be with my guy back in June of this year. Our plans had gotten so messed up before from a bad choice that he had made while in america and he wanted to fix it so brought me and my daughter here to be with him during the process. Last week, he informs me that he isnt comeing home until his debts are paid in full. He owes his family quite a bit of money due to helping us out when I got here , finding a place to live etc. I just looked at him and didnt say a word but the tears instantly came because I thought to myself here we go again, another excuse! He then told me that he was planning on sending me home 2 weeks early so that he could give up the apartment, move in with his parents, get a second job and pay them off. He says he will then come home to me but it might be the entire 6 months before he can do this. I am so angry, upset, hurt and very defensive at this point. The way I look at this is , we love each other, we have made a commitment to be as one for the rest of our lives. I dont need a piece of paper to tell me I am his wife cause I feel it in my heart. We call each other husband and wife and have for a long time. I always thought when you love someone you stick it out, you fight together to make ends meet you dont run away and do it on your own. I feel that money is coming between us and maybe it is cause in the long run he is missing the things he use to have , he says no but I see it everytime he sees his family get something new and he just cant afford it. Yes its been a struggle while I have been here and yes we have had days when food was a wonder how we gonna get it but we always do and we always make it. For me to be able to hold him and love him is worth more then any amount of money. I guess I am a fool to feel that way but after living my life with a abusive man , being with such a warm loving man is worth the world to me. I have cried my eyes out for weeks now since he told me all of this and he says I dont understand and NO I dont understand. anyways he phoned the airlines and it is going to cost way to much to send me home so we are going with the original date of dec 1st. I will then return to america, stay with my daughter for a few weeks, find a full time job as the one I have there now is only part time but I cant raise my girls on that income alone. Then I will find a place for me and my girls and hope and pray that he loves me enough to return to me when he can. I have no other choice but to do this because he says he is doing this for my own good. Umm when did he get the right to decide what was for my own good? oh well life is life So I do understand how you feel, I do feel the same way.. Money is more iimportant then me? Money is going to keep me and him apart but as he said its the best thing for me. I hope your guy wakes up and realizes that there is other options and rushes home into your arms as soon as he can. My brit is to damn stubborn and cant see it , I told him to remember the pain of us being apart and to remember how it feels to look at me through a computer screen. I can only hope that he misses me so much that he will rush home then too. God bless you Chelle I am SO sorry about him doing this...I feel this way YES he may owe money..BUT why did he not think about this BEFORE you all started the visa process???? HE can still pay off his debts IN AMERICA WITH YOU. To me it is an excuse. YOU are now number one in his life...NOT what he owes his parents or anyone else. This can all be done at home with you. I will never get that. I hope BOTH of your men wake up and realize that THEY can do this IN AMERICA. Kai would never do this to me. If he did I would be DEVESTATED! All they are doing is wasting months of time that was IMPORTANT and a number one priority to both of you. THEN they say OOPS i cant yet?? BS if you ask me, total BS and not fair. IF you love someone THAT much you will not make more heartache by staying behind when you can do it together in the same place. SORRY I went off like that...just made me bawl my eyes out as I feel your pain! I been away from kai for 1.5 months and it KILLS ME. I could not imagine it longer if we did get the visa and he said 4 to 5 more months...OH HECK NO.. HUGS!!!!! If you pay attention to the stats page too (CSC stats), you'll notice the number of approvals in past weeks continues to rise. In other words, people are just slow pokes at updating their timelines to show their NOA2's. When they do, it will take them off of Igor's list. And it will change the approximated timeline you're given. My advice is just to use those tools as a general gauge of movement rather than for specifics. The timelines jump around daily sometimes, and your number on Igor's really doesn't reflect too much since people get approved while at all different places on the list. On other topics -- I hope everyone has a happy halloween. Mine's going to be B-O-R-I-N-G. *sigh* Is anyone else stuck by themselves for the upcoming holidays? My SO and I can't afford another flight, nor can I afford one to visit my family. Just wondering who else is in this sinking boat with me. Call NVC... you will need to talk to a person at NVC as K-1's are not entered into the automated system. NVC 603-334-0700. Press 1 and then 5 to talk to someone. You will then be asked for the petitioner's name and DOB and then the beneficiaries name and DOB. If they have received your approved petition (usually in a matter of days for VSC filers and soon thereafter for CSC...usually ) they will give you a new case number. If they tell you that your petition has been sent off to the Consualte then you can track your petition with DHL (optional) to find out when it arrived at the Embassy abroad. Usually within a matter of a couple days of it being sent off. Please use the search option to look for threads on how to do this. Another option is to call DOS to see if your approved petition has arrived at the Embassy. (202) 663-1225 Press 1, then Press 0. Questions about bona fides generally don't center around the US Citizen's genuine intentions. As such, sending money doesn't help but it can raise questions about whether the intending immigrants intentions are genuine or about money. When a child is involved, the US Citizen's filing of the Consular Report of Birth Abroad is far more evidence of their genuine intentions than money transfers could ever be. we cant do a consular report of birth, becouse our baby born before my fiance become a USC , but we have a relationship for more than 7 years and we have photos, e-mails, and tickets for the 13 travels to Guatemala, so i really hope everything its ok by the interview!!	jokalu	Female	Guatemala	2009-03-11 18:27:00

You can go to their website and talk with a person who can email you the exact cost and then yoiu send them a check and they mail it back to you. Or, you can downtown in person and get it. They have it. If you have your case number that will help in their search. Thanks, i knew this would be happen , it take to much time to get certified copy from the court? The answer to your question depends SO MUCH on where he got divorced. In my case, we filed in a very small town where my ex-wife did a lot of court appointed work (she's a lawyer). When I went in to get a certified copy of our decree, the clerk of court gave me about half a dozen certified copies while I waited (about five minutes), and didn't even charge me for them. On the other hand, if your fiance is unlucky enough to have got divorced in say, Orange County, California, they don't exactly give those certified copies away. And you'll have to wait a LOT longer than five minutes for them. But, getting an additional certified copy is not the difficult in any case. Good luck!
