It would be different if we had known from the beginning that it would take 6,7,8,9 months, whatever but at least you are not left out there in the dark...Uncertainty is a terrible thing to cope with... You will not see any touches until you get approved, The reason is because they use your actual application number for NOA1 when they work on your case. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	USCIS to NVC paper trail	QUOTE (RexT @ Feb 10 2009, 06:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If anyone is freaking out because it has been way too long in between the time you receive your NOA2 and getting notification from NVC, and you have sent inquiries to NVC and still no record of it, call USCIS and be sure to ask the representatives to speak to an OFFICER. Reps will tell you anything, but the officers know exactly what is going on. It took me 10 times calling USCIS to finally get in touch with an officer and this was her advise. I was approved on Dec. 22nd and still nothing from NVC. They are saying 30 to 45 working days sometimes, before NVC gets the paperwork....why the hell so long I would really like to know, but......half of the Reps told me that K-1 visas do not go to the NVC, but straight to the Embassies and that is a bunch of malarky. I've had similar problems with CBP (Customs + Border Patrol), which is also under the DHS (as is the USCIS). We can all thank the late George W for that wonderful government department and the chaos it caused.
