PhilippinesSeptember 2008 K1-Filers (Filipino)
HEY! Im not the only ONE! Im new here in this forum and met my beloved Bhe on friendster back in May 2008. I went to see her in the Phil July (my first visit and just got back from my second vist (15 days per visit!). Kinda hard being active duty military and tryin to get over there every 4 months or so.

I filed September 3rd and petitioned for her and her son. The first petition I put in the I-129F, G-325A for both of us including passport pix for both of us, my birth cert and hers, NBI, pictures, letters of intention signed for each of us. Im just like all of you going thru the long process. Wish it was like my ancestores when they stepped off the boat from England in 1655 and just moved right IN!

I might have came into a problem and just sent off the G-325A for her son and my statement of military service. I put a good cover letter in ther explaining what documents I left out, receipt number, our names and who is who, and etc. I'm kinda worried over that though sad.gif

Timeline

August 27th, 2008: Sent I-129F to CSC
Septermber 3rd, 2008 NOA1 Hard copy obtained!
Still waiting for NOA2...(Where do you find out to see if it's been touched?, Im registered thru the USCIS website and still have the "Case recieved and Pending"

to answer the question from stevee we gave them corespondence dating back to 2006 when we first met along with photocopies of my passport, airline tickets
,boarding passes, hotel reciepts for 21 days, photo's of myself and juvy together, photo's of me at her family farm with ALL her neighors and family there,
photo's of my brother and his filipina wife together, proof that my brother was in the philippines too, letters from my brother and his wife stating that they did introduce us but
did not arrange any thing for us ,yahoo messanger conversations dating back to 2006,mail dating back to 2006,$4500+ USD in moneygam reciepts, and a form from
philippines immigration that proved myself and my brother both visited the philippines and got into no trouble during our stay.we also submitted the original I-129 stating the fact that
we met thru my brother and his filipina wife,,which was the main red flag fo them that started all this in the first place. It would seem to me that the fact that we have been together since 2006
would be enough proof that we're a real relationship in itslef,,,an arranged married would last 6 months let alone 2 1/2 years.

Now to answer another question posed.... they ask her personal questions such as if we had sex, they ask her questions about immigration law, which juvy does not know;i'm the one who did
all the research, how we met, what website we met thru, and lots of questions about my brother and his wife.I didnt question juvy to much on the subject i htought she went thru enough as it is.

Is a vaccination supplement required when filing form I 751 for someone who was made eligible for a blanket waiver (due to possible pregnancy) during the medical for a CR 1 visa?

Check cashed this morning! In regard to tax transcripts/returns here is my 2 cents: I have ordered the transcripts a month and a half ago. They never arrived! I didnt have access to a fax machine either to call them up and have them faxed. So I gave up and I made copies of our tax returns including our W2s and included them in the package. They aren't turbotax returns. However, time will tell if I did the right thing, I guess.

Hi, just want to find out if they did accept your tax returns copies.

So... You just kept waiting for NOA doing nothing or did you call USCIS and they respoded it?
Well, since your NOA date is on June, you are June filer now...?

I was about to do that (transfer to June filers) but I saw ICEPECK for Vermont CSC with June 1 NOA date and yet is still part of May. FYI, I did not "keep waiting for NOA doing nothing". I was following up over the phone but was informed to wait for a 30 day window from the time they receive it before doing another follow up. From the time they receive it and before the 30 day window ends, the ball is no longer in my court. I can understand an instruction when being told. Nevertheless, i will be more than happy to transfer to June. Anyway, goodluck to all may filers.

PhilippinesApproved I-130. What's next?
I posted this a few days ago but somehow i could no longer find it so im doing it again. On the first week of February 2010, my USC husband who is a permament resident of the Philippines received the Notice of Approval for the I-130 petition which he filed at the US embassy in Manila. It says that the US consulate will contact the beneficiary (Me) and give instructions about getting a VISA. It has been more than a month since he received the approval but until now, i have not received any word from the embassy. Should i call them up? If so, what number? Hope somebody has any idea on this. Thanks.

Philippineshearing for permanent resident visa...

hi, i'm an american living in the philippines with my wife. friday i have a hearing for me getting my permanent resident visa (13A). anyone been through this before? what should i expect? thank you :)

My USC husband had his permanent resident visa and he didnt have to attend a single hearing. They just took his passport and returnd it upon the visa approval. i think the hearing is just a formality so no worries.

Ummm....i think all the processing is done at the embassy if you DCF...you would have never sent it to the USCIS Chicago lockbox. Have you read the guides or the DCF area in the forum? Your question might be better answered there (DCF forum)

There would be urine and blood tests, eye exam, vital signs (such as BP, pulse rate), height, weight, immunization interview (where you will be asked of your first and last day of period, chicken pox, last sexual contact, etc.). The most "dreaded" part is the physical exam of the doctor where you will be asked to disrobe everything, and check your breasts for possible lumps, your wrists, #######, etc. Then the "interrogation". You will be asked about drug addiction, sickness, hospitalization, etc. including annulment of marriage (on which you will be recommended for Psyche evaluation). The medical lasts 1 1/2 to two days. On the second day, and if everything is okay, you will be given the vaccination record and CD of Xrays...

Thanks for the detailed info. Goodluck on your interview!

PhilippinesAnyone else in the same boat as I am ?

Well, as long as the medical would go without a hitch, she could do the medical and interview in one trip...in a week's time....she could even attend the CFO seminar while waiting on the visa interview. She would just have to register with the CFO after she gets her visa. This may be more cost effective in the end. The only thing that could throw a wrench in that plan is if the chest xray wasnt clear.

I am glad that Mhay was only like 2 hours from manila...she did end up making a few trips. We did a trip for her medical..she had to go back to get her immunizations after her period.....then she went to her interview recently....and will have to go back to register with the CFO to get her sticker after she holds her visa. Not to mention the 2 trips it took her to get her passport renewed. (i think she did 6-8 trips in all to manila...to include her to leave to come with me) It is a lot of travelling for them to get a visa finalized.

Best of luck to you and your fiancee!

Hi, i'd like to inquire what tests they conduct or perform during the medical? would it take longer than a day? How soon can the results be released granting the medical is clear?

PhilippinesPolice Clearance

regarding police clearance from the age of 16..For Philippines do I need to get a police clearance from all cities or places that I lived in?

Or does it cover all the places in Phils the NBI clearance as police clearance?

also, and this may be tougher

another thing...is CFO still needed if I exit in Kuala lumpur? or does it only apply for Filipino who exit in Manila?

U need only one police clearance from the philippines. U may ask the philippine embassy in kuala lumpur if they would require you to attend the CFO seminar.

Philippinesvalid id for interview?

My wife went to the NBI office and was told they don't issue a ID card. Is this card only issued in Manila or the larger cities

It's initially available in Metro Manila only. Maybe later on it will be made available for the provincial offices.

Philippinesprism & cfo experience

I attended the 10 am schedule in PRISM. The guard told me to go to 3rd floor. When I got there, I went to the only window there. The lady asked me about my fiance's citizenship and if I already have my visa. After answering her questions, she gave me a form, asked me to fill it out and to give it back to her. After filling out the form, she told me to proceed to the last door. There were already several people there, most were females. Some of them are going to other countries in Europe and Southeast Asia.
The seminar started with an introduction of the organization, which started around 10:25. It lasted for about 10 minutes, it was very brief. After that, they explained about the offer of BDO to Filipinos going overseas. They explained what it was. It took a little long because we had to fill out the form from the bank.
Next was the group counseling. All of the USA bound people were asked to stay in the room. The others were directed to other rooms. The discussion started, they then gave us printed papers about the discussion. Just the things that we have to bring and what to do on the day of departure and arrival. Other things discussed were US immigration policy, getting settled, and naturalization requirements.
The last part was the one on one counseling. Here are some of the questions asked:

1. What is the maiden name of your fiance's mother?
2. How long have you known your fiance?
3. Where did you meet?
4. When did he visit you?
5. Is he divorced? If yes, how many times?
6. How many kids does he have?

The lady asked my for my fiance's divorce paper, photocopies of my passport and visa. After the counseling, I was asked to pay for the certificate at the window. It costs Php 250.00. After paying, I had my picture taken. Waited for a little while then got my certificate. I was out there around 1pm. Went to BDO to get my ATM card, however, the line was very long. I had my lunch and when I went back, line was still very long. I asked if it's possible to just withdraw my application to open an account, they said yes,so I took my ID.

I took a taxi going to CFO (the girls told me that a pedicab in Quirino Ave. costs about 60 pesos). I only paid 40 pesos, cheaper than the pedicab, hehe. There were a lot of people in CFO. The guard asked for a photocopy of my CFO certificate. He then gave me an ID then told me to go to window 1 for verification. The woman gave me a form, I filled it out then gave it back with my passport. Next was payment, then I waited for maybe 15 minutes before my name was called. They gave me back my passport, and other papers about immigrating to the USA. I was done by 2:30 I was only there for 30 minutes.

Can anybody attend the seminar without the VISA and just come back for the CFO sticker?

PhilippinesHow many of you here DID have your co-sponsor accepted?
QUOTE (The_Sage1 @ Dec 19 2009, 01:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This thread could be potentially helpful to those who are planning on using a co-sponsor. I've seen a few people on this forum say their co-sponsor was accepted under their circumstances.

So the question is, how many of you here had a co-sponsor and had it accepted, or that the consulate simply looked past your insufficient income anyway and let you pass? If so, what were the circumstances that you believe led the consulate to make his decision?

Me!.. we had co-sponsor and we passed! before my fiancee interview were both nervous that we might get denied. i ask same question before here in forums. lots of people let me down and telling me USembassy at philippines dont accept or they usually deny who has a co-sponsor!!

for my own experience they dont.. as long you have all information they need.. and she/he gonna answer the consulate question correct, i guess everything gonna be alright.

my fiancee had her interview dec. 3, 2009... imagine that consulate ask her 2 question only. smile.gif

dont worry.. just pray smile.gif

godbless

In my case, I could use DHL tracking the day after my status changed to "in transit". The day my status changed to "in transit" was the day NVC shipped my package. It arrived to the consulate 2 days after NVC shipped it. Oh, and DHL works on Saturdays :)

Did your status change to "in transit" already? I could help you with the tracking thingy if you want me to :)

Edit: Oh, and also, as soon as my package arrived to the consulate, my status changed to "ready"

Ohhhh, would you help me?? I haven't figured out how that website works yet!

Does anyone know if should I buy a two way ticket for my wife because it's cheaper whether the CBP Officer in Chicago get upset about it if they find out? Like thinking she wants to return or something and not be an LPR? Just curious.

They don't care, they know it's way cheaper to buy a roundtrip ticket.

I'd love to ask a question of all you VJ brothers and sisters...

To what extent do you and your partner share the work on your IR-1/CR-1 process?  Does the USC do most of the work or the non-US citizen?  Do you share it equally?

Of course, there is no right or wrong here!  I'm just curious.

My disclaimer:  I'm the USC, and I have done 95% of the work.  The reasons?  I've already done my OWN process for a Permanent Residency Visa for Australia, and I'm more familiar with the paperwork.  I had to get a Police Certificate from the USA, Japan and Hong Kong.  I've already had to "prove" my relationship for the Australian visa, so I knew how to gather and organize all the civil documents and other proofs. My partner does not enjoy email, chat or forums, and I love them.  We chose to use an attorney in New York City, not too far from where I live (about two hours away).  And, of course, it was easier for me to hassle the NVC for info!

How about you?

Sukie in Oz

I am the beneficiary and I have done 100% of the job, my husband only put a signature on his AOS form when we were still at USCIS stage (good thing I read A LOT!)  and called USCIS to say he was gonna get deployed, they didn't even ask further proofs so he didn't do that either, we got expedite with only the sound of his voice. LOL.

He doesn't know anything, he doesn't know about USCIS timeframe, about NVC, he has no idea about DS-261, DS-260, 30 business days or anything. Every time I would tell him something (consider that he was in the middle of the ocean for the whole process) he would answer "So we got the visa?"
IT WAS TERRIBLE. IT IS TERRIBLE. I felt like poop for the past 6 months and I couldn't even share this with him because our conversations were so brief and he had no idea what I was talking about.

On a brighter side he is very happy he is done with deployment and able to come to the interview with me.

Why would NVC send you anything unless you request it. I know I requested my original marriage certificate be returned to me and they did.

But they don't return thing they send off to the embassy.

Was there something you are needing them to send to you?

How did you ask to have your marriage certificate back? I'd love to have ours, since it is the copy we signed when got married.
