K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Updated and Correction

Hello Six7one!

I had the same problem when I was about to send mine... the expiration date and no new version. I asked a friend of the family that works at a law firm and she said that it was okay since the site said Previous Editiobs Accepted. As far as the typo goes I guess it depends on how serious the typo is... I double and triple checked my forms but itts always a possibility that I missed something! Hopefully nothing too important that will delay the petition.

I sent mine last week and am now waiting to hear back!

Good luck!

To me the typo is significant. It is regard to her employment. Instead of typing "Jun" I mistakenly typed "Jan" which is a difference of 6 months. Do you think I can just correct by striking thru and writing it in with black ink?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Updated and Correction
I recently visited my fiancee and completed the G-325A form which has an the expiry date of 06/30/2011. There was no updated form on the USCIS site at the time. However, upon my return home I checked the USCIS forms on the site and the have indeed a newer from which now expires on 08/31/2012. The site says Previous Editions Accepted. Upon looking at the Form I had my fiancee sign, I noticed a typo. My questions are, should I correct the typo and how or should I re-do the G-325A using the new form and have her sign? I will be visiting her next week but not sure which is the more sensible thing to do. I had planned to mail in my petition this week.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancee's Child has different last name

Don't worry, check the link in my signature. She won't even need to secure DSWD travel clearance.

Per Philippine Family Code, since the child was born out of wedlock the mother has SOLE PARENTAL AUTHORITY.

That's what I figured, but just wanted to be absolutely sure. At this stage really unsure of how strongly/loosely laws are enforced in the Philippines. Kind of a ####### shoot. Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancee's Child has different last name
My fiancee in the Philippines has a child who's last name is not the same as my fiancee's. Her daughter's certified birth certificate has the child's last name listed as her father's, and her father is also listed on the BC. My fiancee has a CENOMAR but does not possess a Solo Parent ID. I don't believe this will be an issue in obtaining their Visas, but will there be a problem with her daughter leaving the Philippines? The Philippines Bureau of Immigration states "In cases of illegitimate children, if they will be traveling with the mother, they are not required to secure a travel clearance from the DSWD."

Does this still apply if the child does not have her mother's last name? The site also states "Since the mother has the absolute parental authority over her illegitimate children...."

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAddress in I-129F

Use your PO Box; you don't need to make any notes about it on a continuation sheet. Use your residential address to answer the question "address where your fiancee intends to live."

I receive my mail at a PO Box and I used it for my address on all forms except for the question that asked where my wife will live. Received both NOA's from USCIS at my PO Box.

Thanks for that tip!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAddress in I-129F
I don't receive mail at my residential address, but rather a Post Office Box. Which address should I use on my I-129F? Will they mail me anything or is it in reference to my residential address? The form does state "Address (Number and Street)" Should I make note of this in a Continuation Sheet?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPreparing to Mail My Petition
Thanks for the advice everyone. I think based on what I read here I'll supply enough evidence that we've met and a little of an ongoing relationship. I visit my fiancee almost every month since October of last year and I think evidence of that is just too much for the petition. Wil have all that for her interview though.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPreparing to Mail My Petition
I've read many things here and on other sites. I have lots of evidence of our ongoing relationship such as itineraries, receipts, email threads, photos, etc. My question is, how much really should I mail with the petition? At the very least I will mail my itinerary, hotel bill, and photos of my proposal and engagement ring receipt. I know most evidence will be needed for the interview. Any advice?

Also, what should the order of my package be? Cover letter - I129F - G325s

Thanks in advance everyone!

The form asks for your employment for the last 5 years. If I have been employed with the same company for 15 years, do I really need to list previous employment? Prior to my current employment of 15 years I was still a college student working odd jobs here and there and its difficult for me to even recollect those jobs. Is my one line with my current employment be detrimental to the Petition process?

Thanks in advance everyone.

I checked Yahoo Messenger and it does have dates. I'm using the latest client. You have to use the client and not the latest Yahoo Mail. You can save any "Conversation" or print them. If you want to retain a little formatting you can print to PDF if you have Acrobat Pro or print to Microsoft XPS.

I you dont have the latest client, download and install. Take the option to convert your archuve messages. Hope this helps.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresalmost ready to submit the I-129F....a few more Q's
Address - also agree you should just use your current address. I'm living at home again but plan on getting our own place once we get married.

Employment - thats the trouble with the electronic pdf. You could always leave the TO blank when you print it then write Present in after. Another option is to use a Continuation Sheet and explain it there.

Pictures - I used 8 total but printed two photos per sheet on photo paper.

I was advised here not to front load the petition and i agree. Im my case i just submitted evidence of my proposal. Photos of me proposing, engagement ring receipt, boarding passes, hotel receipts, and an explaination of how and when I proposed. Hope this helps and Good Luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit Of Support Question
I have not filed my 2011 taxes just yet. If by chance my Fiance is able to schedule her K1 Interview before April 15, will I still need to provide 2011 tax filing or will the last 3 years suffice?

Does the US Embassy in Manila require originals of my 1040s as in stamped 'Received' copies or will photocopies of these be sufficient?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCENOMAR and NBI Clearance Validity Periods
While waiting for our NOA2, my fiance' obtained her CENOMAR a few months back and actually had an NBI Clearance To Travel before we became engaged. Is there an expiration for the CENOMAR? I don't remember seeing one when I looked at her documents on a recent visit.

Also, her NBI expires in June of this year. Of course we hope to have the Interview and depart before then. Will the US Embassy question the validity as being too near expiration even though it is still valid for departure? Thanks in advance VJers.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A: mailing address vs physical address

My fiancee's mailing address is not the same as her physical address. Which one should I list on her G-325A? Thanks! :)

The G-325A asks for Residences for the last 5 years so you should indicate her physical address. On the I-129F you can put her mailing address on question 15 and use a continuation sheet to explain. My physical address differs from my mailing address and this is what I did for myself. Should not be an issue.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresScheduling a K1 & K2 Appointment Online
Its just about time for my Fiancee to schedule interview appointments for her and her daughter (3 years old). I've been searching VJ and the net on how exactly to go about doing this without much luck. Does anyone have a step by step guide on how to use the online system to schedule BOTH appointments in one shot? Would calling US Embassy be a better choice (albeit costlier for the call) or should I do it for them using the online system? Thanks in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdvice Needed - Suggestive PTB prior to SLEC Exam

That's a serious dilemma, what would really suck is to go through 2 months of treatment with your physician only to have St. Luke's want to put your fiancee through their protocol or a partial of it.

Maybe a doctor type will chime in here.

Since we are still at a loss on what to do here, my fiancee will has will just continue her doctor's prescription until. If St. Luke's puts her on another 2 month watch then that's what we'll have to face.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdvice Needed - Suggestive PTB prior to SLEC Exam
Recently we received our MNL Case Number. We have not paid nor scheduled for the interview just yet. As such, we have not done the Medical at SLEC either.

Just a few days ago I asked my Fiancee and her daughter to go and get checkups and for my Fiancee to go ahead and get a chest x-ray. Well, her results show minor suggestive PTB. Her doctor has recommended and prescribed medication for 2 months with a follow up exam when the medication is completed. This puts the date at the end of April.

At this point we don't know what we should do. Should we continue the medication for the full 2 months with her doctor? Should we do the exam at St. Luke's as soon as possible and have SLEC prescribe the treatment? If anyone has a similar experience, please let me know what you suggest or how your dealt with the situation.

Although we are disappointed that this may delay things a bit, we are both in agreement that her health is more important now. Just need some guidance on what to do. Thanks in advance fellow VJers.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 Questions

The 134 is not needed until the interview.

Thanks. My Fiancee and her daughter have their interview scheduled for the 3rd week of April. My petition included my K2 so I am assuming also that the I-134 will cover my Fiancee's daughter in the section provided on the I-134. Is this correct?

yes residential address, it even clarifies by stating "street number and name". Yes you need separate documents for the K-2.

Thanks. I'll use my residential address as the form states. Just hope they don't mail me anything to that address.

For the section "Residing At" do I use my residential address even though I do not receive mail there? Will USCIS mail me anything, and if so can I use a P.O. Box in this section?

Lastly, do I need separate I-134s for my Fiancee and her daughter? I'm doing a K1 and a K2. Thanks in advance VJers.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChild of K1 Visa application

I hope someone can answer this question. I'm starting to get nervous and confused.
I have completed the 129F and included my fiance 19 year old daughter on the form as well.
My fiance has received a letter from the Embassy in Manilla indicating she has been approved
and to call to schedule her interview. When she called they wanted to know about the same letter
in her daughters name. Myself and my fiance have not received any letter in the daughters name and
I have not read anything about a different letter for my fiance and another for her daughter.
The Embassy will not schedule the interview until both letters have been received by fiance.

Can someone please help or offer some insight?

Thanks,

Not sure what to tell you other than this does not sound correct at all. If you put the daughter (K2 Derivative) on the I-129F, then you should be fine. Only the K1 Beneficiary gets the notification and the instruction letter. This was the case for me. We got only one NOA2 and only one letter from the USEM. Nothing mentioned for the K2. However, we paid for two Visa Interviews, the K1 and the K2, and were able to schedule both interviews. Try calling back and speak with a different call center agent or contact the NVC for clarification on your case.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI need help for Address Filing Location for Guam K1 Visa

Hi there VJ users. My fiance is from Guam and we are working out our papers now. We are both Filipinos but he was naturaly born in Guam. I just have some confussion :help: with the address that I need to place on the cover page and intent letter which I got from this site. As I have researched its giving me a two different zip code. So I am hoping that someone could help me and and enlighten us with the information. and by the way whats for the 325a form for four copies?? do we really need to send four copies of that? thanks guys!! hope some fast response!! :D

United States Department of Homeland Security
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
[ADDRESS OF FILING LOCATION]

Just so you are clear, the I-129F Petition must be submitted by the US Citizen. In your case, I am assuming it is your Fiance who was born in Guam. The cover letter should be from him. He must send the completed packet to the Texas Lockbox via Express or Priority Mail. Get a Receipt Confirmation also if you send it via the US Mail. He can also send it via DHL, UPS, or Fed Ex, but the US Mail is just as quick. Mail the packet to the following...

USCIS
Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway 121 Business
Lewisville, TX 75067

From there it will be sent to the correct service center. For Guam residents it will be forwarded to California. Be sure to make the check payable to "Treasurer, Guam" as stated in the instructions. Also, take the time to fill out and submit the G-1145 so he can get email updates on status of the petition.

You don't need to submit four copies of the G-325A, just two. Your Fiance will need to submit one for himself (the Petitioner), and submit one for you (the Beneficiary). Both G-325As must be complete and SIGNED.

Lastly, get all your forms online at the USCIS website. DO NOT use the forms at the USCIS Guam Field Office. When I went there they actually gave me really old forms with the the old addresses and fees. Avoid unnecessary delays and use the forms and instructions HERE at the USCIS website.

If you need any additional info, just message me. Hope this helps.

Cancel your Interview and do not reschedule until after you have PASSED the culture test. If I am not mistaken, you can schedule up to 3 times. After the third one you will have to pay the Visa Interview fee again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 18 on I-129F

A quick question, did a quick search too but couldn't find anything about this.

How much detail do you need for question 18 on the I-129F, "Describe the circumstances under which you met." Is a couple of sentences okay, I'm thinking of something like the following...

"We met while she was working at XXXX on MMM/YYYY, we chatted, exchanged phone numbers, texted for a few days then met up for coffee. We then started dating and chatting via email and text."

As you can see I'm not a very wordy person, but if they need more I guess I could add more fluff.

Most people would use a Continuation/Supplimental Sheet for this question. The Sample I-129F here on VJ also suggests that most do it this way. That being said, my Continuation Sheet explaining how we met was about 3 paragraphs. I explained about how we met and also how we saw each other within the 2 year requirement. My reasoning was more information was better than not enough. Hope this helps your decision.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupporting documents for Manila Interview

My fiance is now getting ready for her interview in Manila - Our question is this: Some of her documents, certified copy of birth certificate and certificate of no marriage - were issued in May and July of 2012 - They have no expiration date on them, but since it has been 8 months since we filed and almost a year since these documents were issued, will they require us to get new documents?

Again, there is no expiration date on these two documents, we just want to be 100% for her interview.

CENOMAR needs to be issued within 6 months of the interview. Get a new one. It can be ordered online and delivered right to her door.

Both CENOMAR and Birth Certificates need to be certified copies printed by the NSO on their paper. Tip: Get a few certified copies of her Birth Certificate. She will need them when she arrives in the US (ie marriage licenses, SSN application).
