Philippines	Filipino in US NAVY	Though it was a long time ago that I served in the US Navy (1971-1975) here is my opinion. If you join the Navy it will be an experience that you will never forget. If you go in with positive attitude your experience we be positive. There are so many benefits from serving in the US military including educational and citizenship to name a few. Work toward learning a skill that you can use after you are discharged. If I were to do over I would stay for 20 years and retire with a "pension". Get a 2nd career and work for 20 years and retire. Now I have two retirement incomes plus Social Security. I'm set for the rest of my life. If you make investments along the way your even better off.   Good luck in your decision.      I very much appreciate your input. I've always desire to be part of the military. Finally my husband agreed after 4 years of convincing. Navy has caught my attention, because they do have this program called Nurse Candidate Program (NCP). This spring semester is my last semester as Pre-Nursing Major student. My Husband and I think that we couldn't afford for me to transfer to a University to finish up my nusring school and we don't want to apply for student loan, we got denied for pell grant. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	My fiancee was approved.	Well, I managed to gather a lot of support on these forums, and for that, I am truly happy.  I don't plan to make many threads about myself or try to take the spotlight anymore after this, but I am extremely thrilled to say that my fiancee was approved in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia today.   I was worried they would not approve us for various reasons, like age difference (she is 11.5 years older than I), the fact that she has four kids but was never married, and because she doesn't speak English (I speak Mongolian).   I sent in a ton of evidence, and I think it helped.  She ended up having an interview which she said took only two minutes.  The officer did not speak Mongolian, so she was provided an interpreter.  They asked her:   1. How did you meet / fall in love? 2. Various questions about the kids and their birth father 3. Various questions about my parents/family, which she was able to answer. 4. How do you communicate? (by phone) 5. What do you talk about on the phone? (I don't know how she answered this.) 6. About the age difference (she said ????????, which means "it doesn't matter.")   They accepted her answers kindly, and told her that they will issue the visa upon receipt of her medical examination results (she hadn't been able to get the medical done in time).  They proceeded to tell her that the children would be able to interview and receive their visas any time within the next year after hers is issued.  Because one of them is in the hospital with meningitis, we had her interview alone first.   I know I will get a flood of congrats and happiness, but I think this is very important to people interviewing in the future: Don't make the same mistake I did and stress out.  Even if your fiance/e is from a poor family in a poor country, as long as you have enough evidence, you spent a lot of time together, and your fiance/e knows you well, you will get approved without too much hassle.  I had been so worried for no good reason.   Many people describe this as anticlimactic, but hearing the happiness in my fiancee's voice, and sharing the happiness in my voice was the best climax one could imagine.  I wish the very best to everyone on here with a true relationship, and I hope that you are all able to gain approval as easily as my fiancee.   From my heart, I would like to thank everyone who sent me good wishes or posted in my thread to help me during the excruciating wait.  I wish everyone on here there best. Hello all, just to let you know I've been approved and help you with statistical data:   case number was EAC...722   NOA1 date was Dec-06-2012 Transferred from VSC to TSC on May-29-2013 NOA2  on 06-21-2013   Your I-129f was approved in 197 days from your NOA1 date. almost 6.5 months, far from the 5 month average that is claimed, but it is what it is.    "On June 21, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice... What do I need from her ? Will I need to bring my paperwork from social security showing I get income and something from school? You definitely will need all the information from your mother. Her IRS transcripts from last year, bank statements from last 3 months, letter from her employer, letter from her bank, and ALL the proof of your income (social security) she (your Mom) has to prove that she makes enough money to support herself, you and your fiancée. Next, get all the other paperwork ready; bank statements, IRS transcripts, letter from banks, employer, and wait to get your new case number from NVC.
