Hi vj Family

I had my CFO seminar last September of 2005, for my passport to apply. My question is that do I need to have a seminar again just to have my visa stamp, Or I will just go ahead and have it stamp without attending the seminar, I still have the certificate that they gave me after the seminar..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTransferred I130 to local USCIS Office for further processing?

Hello AprilMay,

We're in the same boat!

Married to French husband - March 9th 2013

Filed I-130 - May 29th 2013

Reveiced receipt - June 6th 2013

Nothing received until November 25th 2013 : "we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made."

Then on November 26th, 2013: "we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed"

My local office is either Raleigh NC or Charlotte NC, I havent received anything in the mail these messages come from checking my case status online.

I don't think there is anything wrong, at least we're hearing some news! They're probably sending files to other offices to work faster.

Don't worry Bobby299, we received the same message and less than a month later, we got approved. I didn't find a way to locate my local office either but it didn't really matter. Keep hanging in there! Here are the messages we got throughout our waiting time:

"On November 25, 2013, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made."

The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed"

"On December 17, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance."

"On December 17, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAfter approval

Hello everyone!

I-130 for my French husband got approved on December 13th 2013. I did a change of address December 3rd 2013 that got taken into account December 26th 2013.

I call the NVC everyday to find out about my case number but they say they have not received my petition from USCIS yet. It's been almost 6 weeks and I see posts on here where people have received their case number only a couple of days after the approval letter.

Should I be worried because of the change of address? Should I call USCIS to find out if they did in fact send my petition to the NVC?

I have the same problem. I changed my address on December 3rd and got approved on December 17th.

My status stayed on "post decision activity" until December 26th when it read "initial review" and said I had changed my address.

I called USCIS and they told me that if I have my approval notice in my hands then I'm good to go.

I'm still waiting on NVC to receive my case... :(

You will be given instructions on how to pay the Green Card fee at your interview.  It is done online - but not through CEAC.  You do NOT have to pay it before you enter the US, but your physical green card will not be generated before the fee is paid.  It behooves you to pay it as soon as possible after your interview so that the card comes as quickly as possible (to the US address you put in your DS-260 form).

While the Visa page, combined with the stamp at your POE, are "technically" your "Green Card", you will find that many bureaucracies (like the Department of Motor Vehicles) don't understand this.  These bureaucracies think that you must present your physical Green Card to be considered a Legal Permanent Resident, but this is not true.

So getting that physical green card as quickly as possible is a good thing.

The $165 Immigrant Extortion fee isn't for the visa, it's for the green card. It isn't payable at Embassy from what I've read as I think you can't pay it until, you have visa in hand. It doesn't have to be paid before POE, but it is highly recommended that it is paid beforehand.

Thanks to both of you who replied to my question.

So will it be available to pay online through the CEAC website? And then the Green Card will be sent to my address in the US? Do you know how long that takes?

Congrats! Happy for you!

I'm very happy for everyone getting their interview dates, but I can't help but feel a little upset my wife's is at the end of August. I'll have to call the embassy to see if she can reschedule. We just got the interview email today, so the next thing we'll be doing is scheduling the medical exam.

Quick question: I see people talking about how their package was shipped to the embassy and/or is "ready". Where do I see this and how? Thanks.

Go to this link to see if your package has been shipped:

and put in your case number.

Got the interview letter by email this morning and my case is already in transit... wow ! Things have never gone this fast (we would know, we've been waiting for a year and 1 month...)

Anyway, I just want to know what happens after the interview. It is my understanding that my husband, the beneficiary, will receive his passport (visa in it) by mail within 7 business days after the interview. Then what? He has to pay another fee online, $165, to get his Green Card? He does this online on the CEAC website?? And only then can he come to the US?

Amen to that. Tried to do this like a big girl all by myself... It sure has been a loooooong journey.

I see that a few of you are bringing your DS260 confirmation page with you at the interview but when I log on to the ceac.state.gov webiste, my DS260 does not show up on there anymore... This is all I see :

CHOICE OF ADDRESS AND AGENT : COMPLETED

AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT: PAID

APPLICANT INFORMATION: PAID/COMPLETED

The DS260 has disappeared since my case has been complete...

Should I call NVC and ask them about it?
