i sent him

SUBJECT: I-129F/K1 priority over 1-130?

"Hi, My name is Daniel, and i'm a U.S. citizen with a currently pending I-130 Petition at the Vermont Service center. I've read your reports on the USCIS and I had a question maybe you could answer for me.

I've been waiting for over 5 months for ANY information about my case, and I've noticed that I-129F/K1 filers seem to get approvals SO much faster than I-130 filers, sometimes within a month.. which seems a bit funny to me, as an I-130 would constitute a an existing family, and a I-129F/K1 filer is people who haven't even married yet. Is there a reason they give Fiance Visa's more attention than Marriage Visas?

Someone called the Vermont center, and the agent actually confirmed that I-130's are given the least priority, even among Tourist and Work Related Visas. That blows my mind.. These are families waiting to be together, and TOURISTS are given more priority? why??

Thank you for your time, i hope i get a reply..

BTW, my case number is **blanked out*** if that helps any.."

if you guys want do the same. i'm probably not as educated as you guys are on the subject, but i hope i got some of the point across..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresmoving back to europe, do i lose greencard?
QUOTE (evahamilton @ May 20 2008, 01:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right place to post, if not mods are welcome to move.
I am living in virginia and have a CR1 visa. My adjustment of status is november 2009. I am moving back to the netherlands next month, and my husband will join me there in january next year.
Will i lose my greencard? What will i have to do to keep it? We do not know if we will move back eventually or not.
Thanks in advance!

why spend all that time trying to get to america only to move back in a couple of months? i'd wait until you got citizenship in 2 years and change before moving back. then you can come and go as you please.

I am feeling a very bittersweet moment now....

Another Nepal VJer, madhuandnatalia, just completed her fiance's interview(approved). Don't get me wrong, I am very happy for her, but if you look at her timeline you will see that she sent her 129-F on January 28, 2008, and I sent mine on January 10th. I looked at her profile thinking probably she went through CSC, but no, she went through pokey ol' VSC!!!!!!! Un-be-f***inglievable!!!!!! Her case has sailed through the embassy in 4 MONTHS from date of filing, and I haven't had even a F%%%ing touch!!!!!!! This is simply not right that fiance visas should be given priority - I knew that going I-130 only would be slower but I had no idea how much slower.... I am coming back fully expecting that we are going to be separated another year...

Madhuandnatalia - CONGRATS, you know my anger has nothing to do with you but I am really PI$$ED OFF AT VSC!!!!!!!! protest6wz.gif ranting33va.gif protest6wz.gif ranting33va.gif protest6wz.gif ranting33va.gif

we have almost the same timeline.. i completely agree with you. i'm happy for everyone who's getting a speedy approval, but this is bullshit.

Well I beg to differ. I dont think it was appropriate to use her case with the wording and dialogue you originally stated. I think she would be very hurt by that.

Doesn't really matter if YOU think using her case as an example was wrong. Or what you think might be appropriate words or not. Look, hurt about what? What do you think about approving Iraqis automatically? How can you think a through background check can be done on a person from halfway around the world in 11 days... or 42? huh? You tell me! Protect our borders? I think?

Besides all this.... Realistically... what would a 45 yr. old woman from South Carolina be doing marrying a man from Iraqi in the middle of a war zone??? Look, I don't know. That is not a question being asked by USCIS? It should be. Or maybe she flew to Iraq to marry him after meeting on the internet or something like this who knows.

Hey, I am married to Colombian woman and you know what... the US GOV wants to make damn sure that she is not married me just for a visa. And with good reason! Because this is what so many others do yes? Fraud their way into US illegally.

Colombia is a very dangerous place to be too. Ever been there? mmm... They have the FARC and narco-traficants and paramilitaries, groups of terrorists to worry about. 2 bombs went off in Cali just last week. How do I know? I am here to know!

If they US GOV can THOROUGHLY check a Colombian... they can thoroughly check out Iraqis all the more I think. Period. Now fight amungst yourselves on this, I'm finished.

right, because Colombians are being hunted down for marrying Americans, right? the situation in Colombia is SO much like the situation in Iraq. why didn't i see it sooner?

as for the background check issue, it doesn't take that long to perform a background check. you think your being held up because of a 5 month long background check? i cant honestly see a background check taking longer than 2 hours.

BTW, its Iraq, not Irac. good try though.
