That is very cute! Although a couple of years ago, I'm not sure who'd be dragging who!

CanadaApprox. time from NOA2 to interview

After the NOA2, it all depends on how fast you get paperwork back to the embassy and how quickly the embassy schedules interviews.

If you're in Vancouver, it'll be faster than Montreal. Once the embassy receives your case (after NOA2), they'll contact you about information they need and scheduling your interview. Like I said, Vancouver is faster than Montreal, so you could get your interview shortly after.

Back when I did mine, I got my NOA2 in January and didn't get an interview until May, even though I had all the paperwork complete. Montreal's just slow. You won't be waiting nearly that long though I'm unfamiliar with Vancouver's wait times. I believe it's less than a month, though.

Hopefully someone who has been through that consulate recently can chime in and let you know. :)

You can take a look at my info in my signature and see how fast it was. Once you get your NOA2, wait about a week and then call the NVC for your case number. They will forward your case pretty quick to the Vancouver consulate and that takes about another week. Then e-mail the Vancouver consulate to see if they have your case, if they do they'll e-mail you your packet 3, once that is checked off, you e-mail or fax it back and they'll e-mail you packet 4. It happened all very quick for me.

CanadaProblems, Advice, and Stories on Border Crossing
The border guard assumed that my fiance had given me my car because it had an Obama/Biden sticker on it. I said no, but he gave me the sticker to put on the car. He then asked me if I voted in the election. I'm Canadian! I've never been given a hard time about crossing to pick up/visit my fiance.

CanadaCan't get a company letter head letter from US employer!???!!
I've spent the last 2 weeks biting my nails because it's taking so long for my fiance and my co-sponsor (his mom) to get letters of employment. My interview is next week and they messed up my fiance's letter. It's all so stressful. To know that I don't necessarily need the letter is somewhat comforting. But I'd probably have blown a gasket if he told me that his employer just doesn't do that type of thing.

CanadaMontreal seems to be moving rather quickly at the moment.
I think that is normal for the e-mail. I never received anything physically in the mail from Vancouver as all my communication was done via e-mail. If you can schedule the appointment, I would. You will have a list of dates to choose from.

CanadaTD canceling my Visa becase moving to the US?

The only company I've heard of that does close down accounts whose owners move out of Canada is PC Financial (which is primarily why they don't know my new address). I was able to change the address on my RBC visa with no problems. Don't know specifically about TD.

I have a PC Financial account and was thinking of just changing my address to my mom's until I need to close it down.

CanadaDr. Gulzar Cheema - medical review

We too did lots of research.

As for the drug testing, I personally do not want drug abusers to be allowed to enter our country until they are clean anyway, but they accused my fiancee of doing drugs because she had a tattoo and then they didn't do her urine test until a urgent call was received the day after her interview (and not sending in her medical results) without telling her what it was for, causing me to change my plane ticket ($150) and spend another $50 on gas for something she clearly tested negative for. The reason I went with her was because they already asked her to return three other days, so we had 5 days of medical that were completely pointless!

The delayed drug test is something I would not want to tell a drug abuser, or someone concerned about the drug test. It was clearly a tactic used to determine if she did drugs or not. Well, we passed. But I wouldn't want a drug abuser to pass...

If a drug abuser was taking a drug test specifically they wouldn't pass anyway.

But with regard to Canadian medical exams, they don't do drug tests. This is a review for Dr. Cheema and what to expect from him. He is the only Dr. that does the US immigration medical exams on the West Coast here. I'm sure many Canadians, myself included, would claim a violation of human rights if we were singled out for drug use because of a tattoo. I guess if I have a "I love meth" tattoo, that might be different.

CanadaDr. Gulzar Cheema - medical review

We need a new area in the Reviews section to write these kinds of things. Or is it better that we don't report on Medical? It can get too personal maybe? Or maybe it will be bad and give away tactics the medical centers use to try and catch drug abusers, hence helping them into our country? I don't know...

i.e. "Reviews: Embassy/USCIS/POE/Medical"

I did lots of research when it came to the medical. I wanted to know what they do, what can I expect etc. It's extremely helpful to have these posts to reference. The medical centers aren't trying to "catch drug abusers", they're there to provide a service, and they don't do drug tests in Canada anyway. There's nothing secret about their procedure.

CanadaDr. Gulzar Cheema - medical review

We require 3 photos (for me, kids only need 1) for our medical. I wonder if that is because we are doing CR1 vs K visa? Odd.

probably for CR-1 - It's just 1 photo that Dr. Cheema requires for K1.
