Fox News? Yeah, they care a lot about immigration over there.

They care about illegal immigration and stopping President Obama, that is enough for us.

Yes it was a K-1 in our case. No one is comparing. You seem like an angry person.

I am trying to save you a little grief. If you look back in this thread, you can see that another K-1 filer did the same thing and about 1 million angry CR-1 people piled on to them and told them not to post here. Also, if not to compare, then why did you post that? "Angry" or not I am just trying to help.

Congrats !! That's great. WE got approved in 49 days.

Again, you applied for a K-1 VISA, not a CR-1 VISA. You applied for your fiance, we have applied for our wives and husbands. Please do not compare the two as currently the processing times could very hardly be farther apart.

Three posts violating the Terms of Service have been removed (personal attacks).  I can appreciate the frustration people have when something like this happens but please do not resort to name calling and insulting each other in your frustration.  If you can't post constructively, then do not post.

moderator hat off . . . .

greenivy, congratulations on your quick approval.  Over my years here I have seen a few cases like this - and during my own visa journey there were a few instances.  Upon investigation, it turns out that when USCIS is training new staff they will often just grab a petition/application from the most recent applications received that haven't yet made it to an adjudicator's desk.  They aren't trying to circumvent the waiting time, just that those are the applications that are just coming up from the mail room and are readily available.  It looks like they are training new adjudicators right now so there are going to be a number of petitions/applications processed quickly, and as we have a large membership here on Visa Journey, it is not surprising that some of these quick approvals will go to our members.

Is it fair?  Nope.  Is it frustrating?  Absolutely.  Is there anything you can do about it other than wish the beneficiary of this largess congratulations?  Not likely.  Many people - including me - have complained to USCIS about this over the years, and yet, it still happens.

So I should not get my hopes up? :/

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportstoday is 10 month on noa1 and nothing yet

That is severely messed up in SO MANY ways. How are LPR getting priority over US Citizens.

We've been over this in other threads, once the LPR's get their approval they go to the NVC where they have to wait many months and sometimes years for their PD's to become current before the NVC will even touch them (this is due to caps on LPR family visas to slow so-called "chain migration"). Citizens, however, get their petitioner processed immediately since there are no caps on our family visas. In all fairness LPR's should be processed faster because they have a long wait time ahead at the NVC. I am all against illegals getting any consideration at all, but LPR's are legal immigrants to this country and they deserve the same considerations that we get.

I already in toucjed wth my senator bt thy repoled me my file is in normal processing time . The processing time for i-130 petition is 6-12 mnths so thy told me to wait till one year. Now i dnt knw wht to do .

Well then your Senator (or his/her immigration liason) is an idiot. According to the USCIS's (cooked, fraudulent) processing times you are NOT within normal processing times.

Either call up your representative or call the USCIS disinformation line and demand to speak to a Tier 2. Put in a service request as you are outside of normal processing times. If the Tier 2 gives you proverbial sh!t demand to talk to a supervisor.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSTILL IN ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS?!

Because it is undergoing "mandatory administrative processing" (whatever the hell that means). The government is basically doing a bunch of pointless, stupid BS to make sure your husband is not a gay flag burning Alqaeda terrorist (or something, no one can know exactly what goes on there because its for "National Security"TM) (brought to you by the same idiots who let 9/11 happen, then invaded Iraq to avenge this and killed more than 100,000 people, most of them innocent civilians, also let the Boston Marathon bombings happen and could not detect an officer in the army being converted to Alqaeda (Nidal Hassan) etc. etc. etc.).

Basically, it's going to stay there for a while, in India anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months usually. After the first two weeks you can start pinging your representative about it. Nothing to do really but wait unfortunately :/

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhere are they in I130?

Officially? Petitions filed on or before 12 February 2013

Unofficially? Data from VJ indicates that most February filers are already out the door, they are now working on March and April filers willy-nilly and getting ready to throw May and June into the mix within the next month or so.

Why the discrepancy? So that the USCIS can cover their @$$ and not have to do service requests for all of the March and April filers who have been waiting 8 and 9 months.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat Is considered a normal processing time for a I 130

It's common knowledge that I-130s are extremely backlogged right now. Seven months might be the "official stance", but in reality it's closer to twelve, and for some people even a little more.

On VJ we are seeing approvals from March and April left and right. There's hardly anyone left waiting in the February thread.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhat Is considered a normal processing time for a I 130

Immediate relative I-130s are taking around a year to process right now.

How can you say that? The official stance is that it's taking 7-8 months (depending on which USCIS screen you want to believe) and people who filed in March and April are getting their acceptances now. Now way can that be a year, 8 months and 1 year are totally different ball games.

That's awesome, except for one thing. The current immigration reform proposals do not address our situations at all.  I support immigration reform, tbh. But what they're proposing does not fix the current broken system nor offer any real solutions, transparency, nor accountability, regardless of what the politicians are saying about it. If we don't fix the current system, any attempt at implementing what they are suggesting, again, imo, will be an unmitigated disaster. If they throw millions more people at the current system, it's going to be a cluster ######.

I agree with what you're saying but it seems to me that her point is that so-called "immigration reform" is ignoring us entirely. With the House taking up reform in pieces, I think this is actually the best bet for us to get some change. Like it or not immigration "reform" seems to have all the political stars aligning for it so if we want change our best hope is to hook our wagon up to theirs.

Can you imagine? maybe they were siting in the offices doing nothing! lol.. so if as at DEC19,and still battling with Feb filers then those of us who filed in october will wait till 2015.. God help us o!

Needs to be pointed out that this is a bold-faced lie, almost all February filers are clear and somehow July(!) people are getting RFE's and acceptances now. The February date thing is just to keep the remaining (from VJ data somewhere around 33% of) March  filers from being able to file service requests.
