Lies, please see other posts in this thread and the USCIS service center board. They are currently processing files as far out as July of this year, they are lying to save themselves from having to do service requests.

I hope they did the RFE today. That would just suck if it was done last week.   On a good note, I'm glad they touched your file. You went to TSC... and so did we.  My husband thinks we have just the worst luck.  He wanted CSC ...  and so did I.     Hopefully your RFE is something tiny and you can send what they need the day after you receive the notice.    Fedex can deliver the next day if needed.

What scares me is the backlog at the NVC.   Its beyond me why they don't combine the USCIS and the NVC steps into one to save time.  Too many hands touching the files.    I was looking at the immigrant visa info on the embassy website today. Interview Mon, Tues and Thurs 12-1:30      I know Im ahead of myself.  just checking out the info

What type of backlog is there at the NVC?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMoving to Mumbai before NVC Stage--Need Some Advice

Hey dude,

She can move as she likes, but I just feel compelled to say that a lot of your visa worries and problems have arisen from you trying to game the visa process.  You didn't go for K-1 because you decided you would get AP, or some other thing, I remember a lot of various decisions were made to try to get the visa easier and those decisions just resulted in more delays and headaches.

So, don't move to Mumbai to try to game the visa process.

best of luck.

How is that gaming the process????? And how is getting married gaming the process, back when I-129F's were taking more than a year tons of people said the K-1 was not worth it so there's no point in even applying, the AOS is really long and difficult, just get married and go for the CR-1 instead. There's absolutely nothing illegal about moving within a country or getting married before applying for a visa, that's not visa fraud at all. Thanks for your response which did not answer any of my questions.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMoving to Mumbai before NVC Stage--Need Some Advice

My wife wishes to move from her home city of Lucknow to Mumbai, both because she wants more independence and because I have heard/read on here that the Mumbai consulate is easier to get a visa from than the Delhi embassy. We put in our I-130 in November and the way things are going I expect that we will be done with that by April/May, and sending our first NVC documents in July. We have a couple of questions though:

1. Is there a length of stay requirement in order to be processed by a certain embassy/consulate?

2. What is the absolute latest she can move before the interview? And what proof will the consulate request of her for proof of address?

3. Will she have to get multiple police certs? If so how soon after moving to Mumbai can she get a police cert?

4. Will there be any possible negative effects of doing this?

Sorry for multiple posting, but this seems to belong in more than 1 forum. Thank you!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPCC--Single Status

An original copy of your marriage certificate can be got from your town hall or wherever they keep records in your town for like $10.

No reason not to send her one.

You've obviously never tried to get anything done at an Indian court. She's never been allowed to come to the US, so our marriage cert is from there. The court people told her last time it was not possible to get a certified copy that the Passport Seva Kendr would accept, which is probably not true (but it's not uncommon at all to hear stuff like that from Indian court officials, especially if their palms have not been sufficiently greased). She just needed to keep going back day after day and bribe the right people to get it done, but she told me it was impossible and I got frustrated and told her not to bother. We had plenty of time, I should have just told her to keep trying. In any event, we have to get it done now.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPCC--Single Status

My wife's passport lists her status as single, and although I told her many months ago that she would need to change it to married with her current address, when she went to change it they demanded her marriage cert, which was and is in America with me. She told me repeatedly that they would not change her passport with the original marriage cert, and further that she could not get another certified copy from the court (!). Now when she's going for the police cert, because her passport says single, the PCC will also say single. Will this be a problem? If so should we try to get her passport changed at all costs? It's just a bit of a pain now because she is moving to Mumbai at the end of the month, and the way things work in India get the police cert and the new passport will be difficult by then.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAny Washington DC field office I-130 transfers?

Wow this is unbelievable, I am going to file in September, I am wondering what is the point if it takes this long? I might as well just move to her country, 10 months for an NOA2 is RIDICULOUS.

Edit:

I live in Maryland and according to this I will be going through the Baltimore office (even though I live right on the border of DC). Does that one have anything to do with the DC office? Does anyone have some info on it?

Honestly, I am thinking a lot now about moving to India. In one year I get a PIO card and I can work like a citizen over there. This country is so screwed up, even though India is bad I would be happy just to get the hell out of it and go anywhere else.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAre they sending I-130' to the Local Offices Again?

I just moved my residence from Maryland to Virginia, on the assumption that my I-130 would not be sent to the Washington DC local office, which is terribly backlogged. The Baltimore office is bad, between 7-8 months, but DC is over 12. I thought my petition (which I am going to send off next week when I get paid) would be sent to Overland Park KS. Now I am hearing about transfers to the USCIS offices. I do not know what to think. Are I-130's going to the NBC or to local offices? Please let me know, my lease is month to month so I can get out of it and file at my Maryland location, but I can't wait forever!!!!!!!!

I hate it so much when people ask me "You got married? Why didn't she come back with you to the States?" Idiots, no one knows how completely useless, lazy, and badly-run the USCIS is! And no one understands that we have the worst immigration system in the world! If my wife was from a developed country I would never even think about bringing her to this rotting cesspool we call America!

Seriously I have no idea why someone married to a German, Canadian, or British citizen would want to bring their spouses to live here, this country sucks. If I could get work over there I would move in 1 second and never come back.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsQuestions re: i-797c

Got my package returned from Lock Box. Yep, I sent a money order from Canada made in us funds and that is the reason why no NOA1. So...I opened a TD US bank account and will be resending it. 2 questions I have is

1. has anyone else received green notice attached to the package saying "This will flag your application to recieve special attention when it is re-processed"? (curious)

2. My package has been dissembled and my original clear envelope is gone but already separated and marked on. When I send it back, should I put it back in order or leave as is?

More concerned over question 2.

Thanks for any advice!!

I actually called the lockbox and managed to talk to them on Tuesday, they do that to all packages sent in. Send it in the original order, they go through all that stuff and are supposed to put it back in the original order but of course many do not.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSick and Tired of Just Waiting? Calling All VJ'ers to Action

Just as a note to my detractors, I was born in this country to white parents, so the "go back to India!" shows more than a bit of prejudice on your part. Also if you take the time to read the post that apparently everyone on this forum read, I said that I would prefer to live in a DEVELOPED country other than the US. In particular I listed Germany, Britain, and Canada. I am under no delusions about life in most other countries in the (developing) world and I am very aware of the fact that the quality of life of most people is better here than in India. If you could keep your hateful attacks on me personally factually accurate I would appreciate it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSick and Tired of Just Waiting? Calling All VJ'ers to Action

Listen, i got on board with the letter that was supposed to be going out this past Tuesday. And I agree with you all on a need for our voices to be heard. But I am NOT at all interested in providing mine and my spouses personal information to someone like "thedude" who has viamently spewed his anger and threats and voiced his disdain about the US here, then apologizes for having a bad day. Thats just a wee bit unstable behavior for someone trying to lead the charge on good intentions. I have no interest whatsoever in adding myself and spouse to a video, letter, thrashing to the govt, etc in this context and risking someone, perhaps "thedude", skewing my intentions when he ramps back up and all of this looks like crazy just took over, and then my application getting flagged for national security reasons because crazy horse there had another bad day and I signed something that said I agreed with him. I agree with the reasoning behind this movement...its not about the reason or the cause...its "thedude" who has already set himself up for question by those of us on VJ who clearly as frustrated and disappointed but arent angry participants. Good luck to thosenof you who follow his lead...be cautious or you'll be sitting in line another year from now while the govt scrutinizes your applications because of guilt by association. Just bizarre behavior for someone who's chosen to get in the system to petition for their spouse and three days later is a timebomb. I cant risk my application, my wait time or my spouses opprtunity to be here with me because I made a bad judgement call. After all the reason we have this tight of an application process in general if because of people who made bad choices for our country who were angry at our govt and went beyond idol threats. Feedom of speech is our right for certain but I choose not to be associated with threats and bad mouthing my country...and the stupidity of doing so while stamping a petition asking to be granted imigration passage in to the same country. Like i have this visual of "thedude" standing in front of this group being all cheerleader with his fingers crossed behind his back. Thats all I'm sayin. Not interested in getting on board this crazy train.

I have borne a lot of insults and personal attacks against me here and I am not responding to them as a matter of principle. To my detractors I would concede that I am too quick to anger and I am prone to inflammatory language, and in so far as I have caused offense to anyone, or made it appear that I am anything but a loyal, law-abiding citizen of this country, I apologize.

That being said, I do need to respond the libelous slander here. I am certainly guilty of saying some things which are not very nice about the US, but I have NEVER threatened it or anyone else. Venting anger about your government, country, or its policies is not a crime, making threats against institutions or people is. I appreciate JA_martinez?s intention to attack my arguments by painting me as a wild-eyed fanatic (since there is apparently little he/she has to say on the arguments themselves), but I cannot abide the accusation that I am a dangerous criminal. Once again, I have never threated the United States or anyone in it, unless you consider my leaving this country to be a ?threat?, which could only be true if my presence here were so vital to this country that it would collapse without me. While I appreciate the flattery, I think that in that case the JA_martizen gives me entirely too much credit.

I AM SORRY. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT SOMEONE, NO MATTER HOW BAD THEIR SITUATION, WHO SPEAKS ABOUT OUR COUNTRY IN THAT MANNER. YES YOU HAVE THAT RIGHT, BUT I WOULD NEVER ALIGN WITH SOMEONE WHO CALLS OUR COUNTRY A "ROTTING CESSPOOL" AND THAT "THIS COUNTRY SUCKS".

Well I am sorry you feel that way. For my part I bear no ill will against the guy who started throwing all types of "America love it or leave it" attacks/insults at me personally (and whom the mods never saw fit to edit in any way).

I am not going to defend what I said because I feel it would only make you more angry with me. I am just going to say that if you put your feelings about a post I made while I was in a highly emotional state and a very bad place, in large part because of the stress of this terrible process, above your family and your wish to reunite with them than there is nothing that I can or could say to dissuade you. I worked for Obama's campaign as a field organizer and I consider myself a die-hard leftist. Despite this I am more than willing to work with the Republican party and affiliated interest groups because they are the ones who are safeguarding my interests and the interests of my family. When it comes to my wife, there are very few people with whom I would not make common cause to secure our reunification. I would just advise you to take the same view I do, and if you do not, good sir/ma'am, then you to are entitled to your opinion which I do respect. God's speed and hopefully you'll get your spouse's visa soon.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSick and Tired of Just Waiting? Calling All VJ'ers to Action

How long can the USCIS this month spend processing last year's October I-130's? Sounds almost like a Chinese riddle.

The USCIS has lied to us. Our country has betrayed us. We followed the laws, but the law breakers got to stay while we got to pay.

To quote the famous founding document of this country "But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security." Well, I don't know about you, but I am not in the mood to overthrow the US government, and if I were I certainly would not be saying so on a public internet forum. I am, however, in the mood to shake things up. "A long train of abuses and usurpations" seems a little bit too close to home to ignore. Our government has wronged us, our government has broken and ignored its own laws to the benefit of foreign illegal aliens at the expense of citizens.

So who will make them pay like we have paid, are paying and continue to pay for every day of USCIS incompetence, lies, and screwed-up priorities? Certainly not the President's own party, nor the majority of Americans who now find the slant of the Republican party too much to bear even when the President is fairly unpopular. And as to the Republican party, even stalwart conservatives have illusions left that it is an organization dedicated solely to the benefit of this country and its citizens. So who will address our grievances? Who will save us from this "absolute despotism" of family separation?

The USCIS thrives in the dark. It is the one agency of the federal government which derives most of its revenue from the people it "serves" and it is an agency most Americans (they don't know how lucky they are) never have to deal with. What does a cockroach fear more than shoes? More than traps? More than predators?

It fears the light. In the corners, the dark places, hidden away, preying on defenseless morsels of human consumption, it is safe. Exposed to the light, it is the easy prey of larger predators and angry humans. We need to expose the USCIS. We need the country to know what it is doing to us.

How many times have you told shocked, unbelieving friends, acquaintances, and coworkers that you won't be seeing your spouse for years? How many times have you had to explain the arduous process? How many times have you had to listen to people who don't know their proverbial bottoms from a hole in the ground on immigration tell you that it will all be alright if you just hire a lawyer, call some representative, or get a tourist or other non-immigrant visa for your loved one?

People don't know. They don't understand. But if they did, there would be an uproar. If they did, Obama would have to take a few minutes of the time he spends worrying about the illegals in this country to focus on us, the legal and law-abiding citizens of this our country.

We, the USC Green Card Petitioner's Committee, are putting together a video series for Youtube, and we need YOU. We need your spouse. We need to you to tell your story. We need America to hear your story. Alone, we are nothing against the bureaucratic weight of the USCIS, but like fingers closing into a fist, together we are strong. Let's close our fingers, make our fist, and smash the USCIS, the US government, their lies and their love of illegal aliens!

If you interested in taking an active part in the struggle in the fight to reunite our families, if you're ready to take the fight to them, send me a PM. Please provide me with your real name, email address, and some form of phone contact. Let's get this thing done. Let's show America the truth.
