I like this but what do you mean Vermont just started processing? I thought they were still on July/August. I really hope you're right and I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Vermont until this month got no transfers. This month they got several September and October filers, and so far have approved 4, 3 September and 1 October. Before they were doing less than 1000 petitions, not even enough to register here on VJ. Now they are awakening from their slumber.

I really doubt there'll be any nov approvals before may. They have to get thru July, August, sept and October transfers and approve them before they touch us. Most places aren't even finished with July and June yet... Especially nebraska.
Look at the other spreadsheets. There's a LOT before they get to us. Transfers do not mean approval. In most cases they pass the "60 day decision" promise they tell the transfers.

I disagree. Vermont just started processing and some OCtober people are getting NOA2. California is ahead of the pack. IMO we will see November NOA2's by this time next month.

Just deleted the transfer column. None of us are transfers. Fill 'er up guys!

I am beginning to wonder if they will start transferring October petitions in say late March, I would sure love that. That way I will know some work will begin on our petitions soon.whistling.gif

They got through August in less than a month. My guess is they're finished with October by next month's end, tops. IMO April will be the month when the start into the November files in earnest, My biggest, burning question is whether the VSC will awake from its slumber and start churning out approvals or whether it will turn into Nebraska redux sad.png

Let's be clear here guys. No one is hearing anything before May. They need to get through all of October before they touch us.

Don't even bother till mid-late May of this year.

We called re our case just to see what they said. USCIS said processing was still March 20 2013.

That's just what the website says. Those idiots know less than we do (but probably get paid way too much for their meager and inefficient services). You should point out to them that the official wait time for an I-30 there is 8.7 months and that March 20 was more than 10 months ago, so obviously one of those numbers is not true.

Have anyone heard anything yet, next Friday will make exactly three (3) months and still waiting on NOA 2cray5ol.gif

People who filed in August are just starting to see approvals now, that means at LEAST 3 more months, and that's being optimistic.

It's been 2 months since we filed and we haven't heard anything since our NOA1, I doubt any Nov filers will hear anything until March/April if not longer. sad.png

That's optimistic, expect till the end of May at the earliest.

Hello again to all, and Happy New Year.

I might have asked this already, and if so I apologize, but can anyone confirm for me if the 'receipt number' is the same as the case number?? Is the receipt the same as an NOA??

I just want to clarify, thanks to all who answer.

smile.png

The receipt number is your petition's numerical "Name" in the USCIS system. It is what your petition is called by the USCIS's various adjudicators and other sundry mionions and it's how your petition is located by the USCIS's automated message system (on the phone) and on the website. Your "NOA1" or I-797 will have the receipt number on it, but the two are not synonymous. You can get the receipt number from the text or email the USCIS sends petitioners, or also by calling up the helpline, in addition to getting it off the i-797. I never got my i-797, so I had to get it from the email they sent me.

Oh and our timeline got updated it now says:

*Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between February 2, 2014 and March 25, 2014*.

So here's hoping we hear something, ANYTHING! within that timeframe! smile.png

That is an estimate based on an algorithim VJ spits out using other filers' data. It fluctuates a lot. I would not count on anything be March 25th if I were you guys.

Thank you!

It's been over a month now, So monday Dec 30th, I'm calling them to find out what the hell is going on, I checked my case status online and it hasn't been touched sinced.  I understand the process is long but just want it to hurry up!

A month is (somehow) considered a short amount of time, expect to hear 7-8 more months since that's what's on the website.

Thank you for that info.

I'm assuming I spoke to a tier one - it sounded like he was reading from a script, If I get a chance tomorrow or Friday I'll call again and ask for a tier 2, Do i just try get hold of an actual representive and ask them? Oh and do you know which buttons to press to get to someone without listening to all the pre recorded stuff? that gets reallly annoying. lol

I just don't want them to send stuff and not receive it as they could send an RFE and it could get lost or something.. it really worries me

Just keep pressing 1 until it asks for a case number, then press 3 or say "I don't have one." Then when the tier 1 drone comes on demand to speak to a Tier 2 in order to make a service request. If the Tier 2 gives you any sh!t about not getting your NOA1 demand to talk to a supervisor.

Hi everyone - quick update on my case - we still haven't received our hard copy of NOA1 (it's been 23 days since emial - 18 working days)

Gave USCIS a call today to see where it is and they said if it hasn't arrived then it most likely got lost in mail! sad.png and that they don't do duplicates.. So, there goes that.

I also asked about wait times and the guy said Nebraska has just finished Feb 2013 i-130 filers and that our wait time is approx 10 months!

Oh well... more waiting around..

Good luck everyone.

OK, the USCIS drone gave you some BS. Did you talk to a Tier 2? Never trust anything the Tier 1's say, a trained monkey could give you better info.

FYI, we filed the same day and the EXACT same thing happened to me. I never got my NOA1 but I did get the email. I called and put in a service request with a Tier 2 to verify that it was issued as some point. I have confirmed, repeatedly, that it is at the VT service center, and not lost in space. You can do the same thing I did, put in a service request asking for it and they will send you a little letter on USCIS letter head stating your case number and informing you that they don't make copies (a lie, they actually do, but only for completed cases). Relax, trust me if there is a case # they have it.

Maybe I should try to apply for K-3 in the mean time...

I will be too, but it's mostly a feel good measure or, at most, a way for you to get someone to lay hands on your case. The K-3 is, 99.9% of the time, simply merged with the I-130 at the service center and then administratively cancelled out once the I-130 is approved.

So...you're saying don't bother trying at all while the I-130 is pending? What if the I-130 is approved (NOA2)? Or do we have to wait until she gets her CR-1/IR-1?

You can try but you'd better be prepared for her to be sent back at the POE. Sorry sad.png

Also they would not let her in until the visa is in her hands now.

And you should change your timeline to "CR-1" and Nebraska Service Center.

The notice that I got was from Nebraska.

My wife is in Taiwan now. She's been visiting the US on and off every few months. My concern is this past visit (September - November) we were retained at POE (SFO) and the officer told us to make sure she gets an adjustment in status. Now I'm worried they'll hassle her again at the POE if she visits me again after only two months (Nov. - Jan.)

Bad news buddy. They are not going to let her in. The POE officer was trying to save you some grief, now that you have put this in and she is out of the country they will not let her back into the country while this petition is underway until she gets the visa.

Edit: It is theoretically possible but realistically unlikely that they will let her in. The burden of proof will be on her to prove she will return to Taiwan after she is done in the US and this is exceedingly hard with a pending immigrant visa petition.

I filed on Nov. 19 and the Chicago Lockbox received on Nov. 20, the NOA1 shows a date of Nov. 20, notice date was Nov. 22.

I wish Taiwan had a TPS (Temporary Protected Status) designation. Not to diminish the typhoon's destruction but Haiyan affected much of Southeast and East Asia too...just read a lucky lady got hers in 13 days!

Are you adjusting your wive's status or trying to bring her here from Taiwan? Also what service center did you go to? Vermont or Nebraska?

Edit

So yours was Texas.

Hey guys, first post but need to do some venting. Over 9 months since we got married, then filed first week of May. Only update we've had is on Dec 5th that we'd been sent to Nebraska. My wife called today and still nothing, we haven't even been assigned an immigration officer.... 250 days(ish) of been in a pile of paperwork. The USCIS don't give two hoots and don't want to assist in anyway.

Would anyone have any positive news?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMay 2014 I-130 Filers

I called USCIS yesterday just to make sure there wasn't anything missing because I didn't want to receive a letter saying there's a checklist and delay the process even more. I was told that even though my center is Vermont and they have a 5 month processing time, I should keep checking online as a lot of them are getting approved within three months time.

I was just looking at the timeline processing dates and yesterday it was saying April 12th for Vermont and now it's saying April 2nd. How is that possible for them to be going backwards? Or is it how this site is set up that whenever people update, it shows that particular date instead of the most recent date?

They are being overwhelmed by DACA petitions and renewals for illegals. It looks like these are once again taking presidence over the petitions of US citizens, in line with this administrations established policies of favoring illegal aliens over US citizens.
