K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures60 day expired after RFE reply
I do not know. The person that usually answers the calls has no further information than what you already have. All i know is that others say to ask to speak to a tier 2 and they usually have more information. I think 60 days seems a long wait after an RFE but I suppose it depends on what the RFE was for.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresestimating time of K1 process to set wedding date
Don't plan anything you can not change. You will only set your self up for disappointment when the process takes longer than you thought it would.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust want to be married and be together
Your filing date is just after mine and I am still waiting. We realy shouldn't have much longer to wait now. Personally, I would wait. My fiance and I agreed we didn't want to spend married life apart for months so we chose the fiance visa. Yes it's hard being away from each other but in a way, I think it would have been worse if we were married and living apart. Just my thoughts. Hang on in there.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresanticipating problems :(
Start using a means of communication that you can print from. I mainly use Skype video but we have emails, Skype chat, letters, cards, photo's, facebook comments and probably more. I pay a subscription to Skype so I can call his cell and home phones. It logs that I made the calls. Every little bit helps.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresanticipating problems :(
I think that when you apply, you are just as honest as can be in regards to your previous stay in the US. Yes they will look into it, that's what they are meant to do but if you did everything right last time then I am sure it will be ok this time too. All I would say is make sure you have ample evidence of the relationship.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresanticipating problems :(

my fiance (a US citizen) and i are planning to apply for the K-1 visa in April, we met a couple of years ago while i was in the US.
At the time I was married and in the US as a permenant resident, after the marriage broke down and we got divorced, i moved back to the UK.
so my question is, will the fact i was over there already via marriage effect our case to the point of refusal??

thanks for any advice :)

I don't see why it would. As long as you were in the US legally and have not overstayed and you are now free to marry again then why would there be a problem?

It will be useful if your child can speak English for his schooling in the USA. As far as I am aware, he will not be required to attend the interview at the embassy but will require a medical.

Also, if your fiance is not the father of the child, you will need to get written permission from your child's father to allow you to remove him from your country.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow long will NOA2 take?
Please change your timeline data to say California. That helps visajourney with data. Currently California is at a standstill. Many people have now been waiting around 8 months. California say they are processing July 18th still. I think we have many more weeks of waiting unless we get lucky.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdvise on When to Plan the Wedding or Religious Ceremony
:time:

At the current rate of processing at California Service Centre, you will be lucky if you get your visa before Christmas!

Maybe it's just me, but I do not want any sort of celebration until the day I marry my fiance. I read up and we haven't booked a thing and won't be doing until I have the visa in my hand.

I guess you and your fiance have to decide what you prefer. I am sure the family will understand if you put things on hold and a lot of wedding associated things like photographers, will not refund you but they MAY reschedule you so you don't lose out but they need to know as soon as possible.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNo NOA2...help please

Hi Everyone,
I know I am not the only one here who has not received there NOA2. I filed my k-1 on sep 14. I have been told since Jan. that I need to wait two more months. They finally told me that in may I can do an e-request. I have gotten so fed up that I have contacted my senator and they have told us that they have emailed USCIS and that that is all they can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I call USCIS 3 times a week to just be annoying, I have called the lady from the senators office that is working our case and she is no helping. I am starting to wondering if the reason this is taking so long is b/c my fiance is from Turkey? Has anyone from Turkey had this problem? Does anyone have some helpful suggestions as to what I can do to speed this up?
Thank you and good luck to everyone!

:time:

Please be patient just a little longer. I am sure you will hear something very soon. Take a look at Igor's list under Timelines on the link above. You will see that September approvals are realy only just starting. California has only just started processing at a good speed. My RFE only came on the 18th April and we filed on 7th August!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMaybe the Demand on CSC Needs to Be Transparency
I think that is the whole point. When we decided to go the K1 route we made plans based on approximate processing times. Based on those times I should have been getting my visa about now and making plans to move to the states with my children. All we wanted to know and still want to know is how long this process is going take roughly.

I am just past the 8 month mark now and many have waited longer. If I was told at the time it was going to take a year then I would have accepted that but to be told 5 months then a set of never ending excuses is simply not good enough.

This further adds to my theory that they are trying to lower their average by processing petitions from November/December.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHaving a VOICE

I'm sorry, all of the super sleuths on this website are working on rumor and paranoia. Plenty of others have argues against DACA slowing things down (because their notice says they will hire more people), or have argued that influx of applications happens from time to time, or have tried to explain how the centers readjust their workload, but some people in these progress report subforums just want to blame it on someone. Two years ago everyone was blaming Haitians for having an earthquake and messing up their immigration. Before that it was someone else, and before that, someone else.

If you can't understand how a self-reporting website can be prone to error and mob mentality, then I don't know what to say.

Oh my! I find it hard to understand how you can dismiss the many hours some VJ members have put in to analyzing data from various sources, looking at trends on both here and the USCIS website as well as reading many, many posts from other members with their experiences of contacting congressmen, senators and USCIS directly.

What I see from what I have looked at and what other members have stated AND what is available on the USCIS website is that my assumption that they are processing later dates to bring down the average processing time at the CSC is correct. I have seen nothing that indicates otherwise.

I have stated this a number of times in the hope that others will look at the data and see for themselves. They don't always so I keep repeating what I found out. It's of little comfort to most July/August filers because it does look like we will have a wait of almost a year from our NOA1 to our NOA2. They will back track to us once they have got to about the National Goal. Indeed I have seen it come down from over 10 months average to 7.2 months avereage very recently.

I worked in an accounts center for many years. I juggled figures, read charts, interpreted data on a daily basis. I know about meeting targets and how to do it!

Paranoia? I don't think so!

Yeah, as if there is any comparison between, being 6000 miles away, every day and night, for months, waiting for paperwork to be shuffled, and living with your significant other and family, waiting for paperwork to be shuffled.

OH OK, YOU"RE RIGHT...I SHOULD LOOK AT HOW GOOD I HAVE IT NOT BEING WITH MY FIANCEE, WHEN IT IS GOING TO BE SOOOOO MUCH WORSE FILING FOR ROC AND AOS LIVING WITH MY LOVED ONE...I SHUDDER TO THINK OF THAT TIME AND HOW HORRIBLE IT IS GOING TO BE!

 Exactly!

Oh well, atleast I am in the UK and for me that means another day is done. It's 8.18p.m and I am off to sleep so that my fiance, who is 6000 miles away and working his backside off can call me before he sleeps at about 3a.m my time. It's the only way we can spend any time together. Roll on NOA2. Yeah waiting on AOS will seem like a piece of cake.

Good night everyone. Tomorrow we will all be one day closer.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally!!! A honest Answer from CSC!!

Oh my god, I'd never even thought that they might be deliberately processing the occasional November/December simply to make their average look better. Was thinking it was just their disorganised system. That's just terrible.

It's terrible but it makes sense. It's just manipulation of figures to hit targets. Most businesses do this. Unfortunately, there is real people behind these figures and we are hurting but to CSC we are just numbers.
Oregon BoundFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-04-10 06:19:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally!!! A honest Answer from CSC!!
It was towards the end of January the date changed to July 18th. We were told this date by telephone before it changed on the USCIS website. So if they say they are still processing July then that means they are doing very little.

On the other hand, as I have said before, if they process a decent number of November/December filers, that will help bring down their average processing times to closer to the USCIS 5 month goal. Vermont did the self and same thing then backtracked to processing earlier dates.

I would put my money on seeing very few July/August filers approved this month.

Take time to come to terms with this setback. You will feel upset and down but you will get back up because your dream is worth fighting for. Don't give up. Maybe a nice long letter quoting facts and figures and showing that the later filers are being dealt with. Quote posts from here that show people have had help and had their cases looked at.

Someday we will all get our NOA2's but there is no harm in stating our cases and trying to make people sit up and take notice.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHelp with info for Senator
My fiance wrote to his senator and had a reply that they were contacting CSC. We haven't heard anything else yet so he is gonna call his senator for an update.

I have put together some information for him to tell the senator's office.

Could you all take a look and see if I have missed anything important. Please remember this is not a letter to the senator's office, just a list of things for my fiance to point out during his phone call.

Ok here we go with some facts and figures for the Senator's office.

Our case number : WACXXXXXXXXXX filed 7th August 2012

California Service Centre still quoting processing July 18th 2012 and have done so since end of January 2013.

Now approving I-129f petitions from late November and December 2012 on a regular basis while petitions from mid July to October are only being processed when the petitioner has had help from their congressman or senator's office. This looks like a direct attempt to reduce their average processing times down to closer to the USCIS national goal of 5 months at the expense of filers from July through to October 2012 yet we are told from USCIS and it states on their website that petitions are processed in the order they are received. Clearly not the case just now.

More December filers have been approved than August.

All this information and more can be found at http://www.visajourn...ogress-reports/

http://www.visajourn...filers.php?cfl=

Visajourney.com represents approximately 10% of all I-129f filers giving a good proportional representation

Ask them directly what they can do to help us and the other filers in the same position.
