Yesterday I did over 17 letters... I sent one for each "important" person that I could think of; the president, first lady, vice president & wife, state governor, mayor, senators, house rep. & the dominican consulate!!!!

I'm going nuts!!! This wait is making me insane!!!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaVisa's for Colombia????

here is my sitution I am from the USA and my wife is from Colombia, she has her resident card here in the USA and is currently working/studing, I on the other hand want to head to Colombia to start a career teaching english as a second language and get my resident card in Colombia, I know I will need a work visa but here is also a spousal visa ,if I can get which if I live in Colombia for 3 years under the visa I then can appy for my resident other wise it is a 5 year process, so my question is does my wife have to be also living in Colombia for me to get the visa I will be living with one of her sistes or with friends there while working. I want to get my resident there and start a career teaching english so when she finishes school we can choose which country we want to live. Any advice /information would be great

OK... I'm a lettle confused here, you said you are from the USA. If so, you don't need a visa or green card/resident card. Being a US Citizen you can live anywhere you like.

I think we need a little clarification.... or is it just me that don't understand?

Mexico, Latin & South America***Dominican Republic - Fianceé Pregnant***
kicking.gif Ok... My beautiful fianceé is pregnant. kicking.gif

I already know the answer to this question. "Will it speed up the process?" NO... It will not speed up the process.

Therefore that's NOT my question... my questions are:

Do I have to let the US embassy in the Dominican Republic know that she IS pregnant?

I've also heard that if the child is born overseas we will have to do a DNA test to proove the child is mine... Is that true?

If so, how much?

Do you guys think she will be able to get here before the due date... June 2008?

Tim or Scott... helpsmilie.gif I hope you come to the rescue. I've been waiting for the site to be up to ask you or the chief consul, but thought that I could find some kind of help here.

Can someone post a link or tell me where I can find a form DS-2001 in Spanish? I looked on several US Embassy websites for South American countries and cannot find one. I just want to get the forms and instructions to my novia before she gets her packet from the Embassy!

I could not find it either, I think the best you can do for now is translate it yourself.

hi Lyn,

AIRLINE TICKET OF MY FIANCE?!
what do you mean for that, copies of previous airline tickets your fiance had when he visited you? or airline tickets he requested for your flight going to US?

Just asking, girl. Because its first time for me to see Airline ticket included in the documents for the interview.

anyway, goodluck on your interview, as well as the results for your medical exam.

regards,
alexandra

I'm glad to know, your interview is coming up soon... Congrats!!!

I think you forgot to mention one thing, that you probabbly have, but just in case let me tell you PICTURES! ...those were not mentioned on your list and they need to be!

I know you'll take along a lot of nervousness, but try to be cool, relaxed and smile!!!... Inmigrations officers tend to be a little nicer to smiley faces!!!

Best Of Luck!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionB2 & K1 Visa with 2 month Passport
I was reading over the requirments for a tourist visa B2 while we wait for the K1 process. I realized that she just renewed her mexican passport about 2-3 months ago. The requirments on the website for the visa say the passport needs to be valid for 6 months. The fact that it was renewed rather then the first time I was hoping would make this not be an issue. What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance...

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCan we start the Medical/Vaccination early?

Thanks... As a side question I looked at your Timeline. Have you really been waiting since Jan. and still no NOA2?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCan we start the Medical/Vaccination early?
I was thinking the other day that some of the vaccinations have to happen in series or over a period of a few months. Is there a place to find out what vaccinations need to be taken/have and list of places (in mexico) that are accepted? Then maybe we can get started early on them?

Thanks

I finally got a hold of someone to find out where my future wifes (from Mexico) paper was and if they had all my information. They have my information but are mailing the forms to me instead, but was told she could download them and print them off also. I still have not gotten the forms they said were sent on 01/04/08. Also I guess it is an open appointment where she just goes anytime and it takes 3 days; 1 to make appointment, 2 for medical exam, and 3 for interview? But my problem/worry is this all feels not right. Why would she have to travel from Mexico City to that town (CIUDAD JUAREZ)? Why not Mexico consulate? Also to not have an appointment and just show up after all the travel to get there is odd as well.

Does this make any sense to anyone???

THANKS in advance!

Ciudad Juarez is the ONLY city in Mexico that handles K1 Visas.

Consider yourself LUCKY!!! You DON'T have to wait in order to get an interview date. Us K-3 filers have to wait for an interview date to be sent to us. You go as soon as you are ready. So just count your blessings. And yes, Juarez is the only consulate in Mexico who adjudicates and processes spousal/fiance visas (and residency).

Do you know if there is a time limit on when I have to go, say within 4 months of getting USCIS approval (approved 12/02/07)? I only ask because looks like first week in March is the time we can both go together. But in either case would like to know my due dates...

Thanks everyone for their insight, it is helping more then you know!
