K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	missing documents . .what do i do???	I,m putting together my petition and a few quick questions if anyone could help . . . .I visited mu girlfriend in the philippines 3 different times and i have a few missing items several boarding passes . . .we traveled on boat to an island to spend some time together but i seem to be missing the boarding documents for that, but i do have itinerarys and other items such as hotel documents for everything else . . .DO you think ill be able to get by?? also, should i make a note someplace in the petition of missing items and where , on the contents page??? finally, fir my trip documents, should i just include the major ones such as plane and hotel OR do i need every single little thing such as luggage reciepts, taxi slips,meal reciepts ect . . . Canada	how do you know if you passed the medicals?	That's insane! It would cost me less to drive the hour and a half and pick 'em up Yes $50 at Seidens to have it couriered to your house. My fiance doesn't drive so hes having his mailed to him because he doesn't want to take the GO train back to Toronto. (And I don't want to drive in Toronto). Canada	Getting Ready for Interview...Do I Have Everything I Need?	Don't you file those with the affidavit of support? I can't for the life of me understand why so many people bring them during interview and THEN get denied for enough support... don't they review that ahead of time? Not in Montreal. Montreal everything is brought to the interview. From what I've heard, it seems like everything is sent with P3 for Vancouver. For our interview last week they asked for: 1) I-134 and 2011 tax transcript 3) They took both original and a copy of birth certificate, original was returned during interview 4) Appointment letter - I think I messed up here, I printed out the summary of everything (Applicant, Appointment, Loomis, etc) and lady at the first window made some comment that it wasn't the interview letter but let us through anyway. 5) Letter of intent 6) They took original. make sure it has a raised seal, they looked for that. *) Don't forget the medical results! It can't hurt to have the other stuff, but they never asked for any of it. Compared to some of the horror story interviews on these forums, our interviewer sounded rather bored like she didn't want to be at work that day. She just asked how we met, where I live, and how I proposed. What exactly does the interview letter look like? I printed off the confirmation from the CSC Monteal website and I also have the printed off email confirmation from the interview date schedule and the loomis. Canada	Getting Ready for Interview...Do I Have Everything I Need?	The letter of intent must be from the USC, not the Canadian. (Not sure which you are) and you need the last three year's tax returns (including W-2s) or tax transcripts or thed I-134 is useless (technically you only need the most recent year's but the last three is highly recommended). Also the Canadian needs to bring two passport style photos. Also only original police certificates are accepted. And the medical exam in the sealed envelope- very important! I am the USC. I do have the last 2 years of Tax Transcripts. I couldn't get the third year. Hopefully that's ok. Do they request W2s with the tax transcripts? I don't think I have those anymore. Canada	Getting Ready for Interview...Do I Have Everything I Need?	We are getting ready for our interview on the 19th in Montreal...I wanted to make sure that I have all the documents that I need. This is what I have: I-134 Filled Out with: This years paystubs. Letter from my employer. My offer letter from employment when I started. Copy of my fiance's biopage of his passport. Original and Copy of his AND my birth certificate (just in case they ask for mine) Appointment letter and loomis confirmation as well as prood of $240 fee payment. Letter of Intent from Me signed within 30 days of interview Police Certificates original and copies 13 pictures of us with location, names and dates on the back. Copy of our entire Package 3 sent to the embassy. Copys of receipts/text conversations/other things for proof of relationship. Anything else you can think of that I need? Canada	Montreal Interview--APPROVED! K1	Yes! I was. They didn't even ask for my ID. They just asked if I was the USC and I said yes. BUT I did get an email from the Consulate about 2 weeks ago that did confirm I was able to get into the Consulate with my enhanced driver's license. They didn't even ask for it though. This morning I received an email from the embassy saying that we need to bring it back to the DHL/Loomis office, send it back they will reseal it and Loomis it back to us. Canada	URGENT!! DHL opened DO NOT OPEN envelope with VISA information	I am pretty sure we can get it fixed by going there. Which is just a pain in the neck. Considering I was supposed to be driving home to Michigan on Saturday. But what can you do? I'm just glad we figured this out while I am still in Canada visiting for the holiday. My fiance doesn't drive so it would have been more of a hassle. So I guess for that I am thankful. But it still is unnecessary. We should have been ready to go. Luckily he wasn't planning on coming home with me this trip either. POE is the end of December. But I do want to go home knowing all we have left to do is pack his stuff and drive home to America. On a side note, I am going back to DHL after 3 when someone else is there that isn't 85 years old. The guy that opened it was 85 years old and had no idea what he was doing. That is 85 years of life experience to know what you DO NOT OPEN OTHER PEOPLE'S MAIL! So frustrated. I called DHL Canada and what do they tell me to do to file a complaint? Write an email! This is ridiculous. There has to be someone that I can at least talk to? Nope. It is too much to talk ask that I just want someone to talk to on the phone to fix it. I am heartbroken and upset and frustrated. I went back there to the DHL office today and the guy (George) was 85 years old and wouldn't give me the phone number for the guy that handles the visas in Toronto for DHL. George tried to send him an email, but he had no idea what he was doing. So I am going to be going back there at 3 when the manager of DHL is there. POE told us to contact the police and file a police report because the custom's officer I spoke with said it is a federal crime for anyone to open that package that is NOT a border/customs officer. I also read on the Montreal website that the only day they are observing as a holiday is today. Tomorrow they should be open. This is a freaking nightmare and I am so angry. It is looking like we are going to be driving out there tomorrow night (7 hours) and getting there first thing Friday morning. I am going to try to call my congressman one more time. Tried this number. It is a call center to set up appointments for Visas or to get an emergency passport. They will not give me any immigration information. Hi! If I were you, I would call the consulate to verify/clarify/inform them your situation. That happened to me with my yellow envelope. It had a torn part and I was so nervous, didn't know what to do. I called the consulate and the agent said it's nothing to worry about. In your case, better call the consulate, dear, that way you'll have a peace of mind. Consulate doesn't have a phone number because they stopped answering their phones. It is only information and refers you to go to the website when you call the number. I emailed them twice and said I will get a reply in 10 to 15 business days. I called POE and they do not have any internal numbers for the embassy. They looked for like 15 minutes and tried to think of ideas. I tried faxing a letter to them to ask them to call me, the fax wouldn't go through. I called DOS, they said to call the Embassy. Emailed Montreal and also put in an inquiry on their website. Something has to work one way or another. But I am seriously angry at the DHL guy opened it. I pounded into my fiance's head for 6 months DO NOT OPEN THE PACKAGE! He didnt. Someone else did. How does the DHL man think he has the right to open over people's packages? Thats what I don't get. What do I do? He taped up the side with tape that says "Inspected by DHL" and wrote a letter on the front with his name and said it was a mistake. FREAKING OUT! Canada	Booked our Hotel at the Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis in Montreal	Has anyone ever stayed there? It was difficult to find a hotel since there are so many and wanted one at reasonable price. If you have what was your experience? We stayed at the Candlewood Suites Downtown. It was like a $6 taxi ride or a 10 minute walk to the Consulate. They are decent priced around $100 a night and the rooms have flat screen TVs, full kitchen with oven and stove, dishwasher. There is an IGA grocery store right down the street between the hotel and the consulate so you can save money by cooking your own meals. This is what we did. Saved us a ton! They offer free laundry services and GREAT views of the city if you are on the upper floors. I would highly recommend it. For some I know you don't have to be exact (ie the weight at birth) but his mother's info does need to be correct. http://www.ontario.c...th-certificates You also need to have a guarantor. Which is someone in a professional career...doctor, lawyer..etc that has known the Canadian citizen for at least 2 years and can certify that they are who they say they are. I was shocked when it spit out 6 passport pictures. I thought it was like $10 for 1 picture! Nope! 6 of them! Very helpful, but they didn't even ask for more! Canada	Update on DHL/Loomis Opening Our Sealed Envelope	Well, the package was received by Montreal on November 26th. And there it sits. DOS can't tell me anything. They only have updates stating the visa was issued. Well, I know that. So because they have not replied to any of my emails that I send daily, I contacted my congressman yesterday. They are going to be looking into it and hopefully coming up with something. The worst part of waiting, is that it wasn't even our fault in the first place. I am just hoping it is soon. If anyone has any phone numbers I can try to get a hold of someone at Montreal, that would be great. But I have tried all numbers, emergency everything. I went as far as contacting border patrol when all this happened. So frustrating. POE is supposed to be in 26 days. With the holiday coming up, time is running out for any hopes of me having my fiance here for New Years Eve. Prayers, positive thoughts are welcome! I have read that if you currently live in the US they may return your passport back to you the following afternoon after your interview if you are approved. I am currently legally residing in the US and am wondering if anyone out there has been granted this passport expedite. Any suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated....
