CanadaAny word from Montreal?
I know we're all aware of the fact nobody can book interviews right now, but has anyone heard anything *else* from Montreal lately? Our file was sent from NVC two weeks ago and even DoS has told my Fiance that it should've been there by now. He had one agent tell him that Montreal isn't processing or udpating anything right now (I'm assuming they meant receiving cases, P3/P4 etc...) and another say that ours just hasn't arrived and to call back "in a few weeks". and anotehr say it was there but not entered into the system yet, etc.

So I was just wondering if anyone has heard from them at all, since this trouble started? :(

CanadaAnyone got an interview in Montreal-past week?

OMG YOU GUYS!!! I was off today from work and I spent all day refreshing the CSC appointment page and when I was just about to give up....I GOT AN APPOINTMENT for June 1st!!!!

Please don't give up, just keep refreshing the page, and hopefully something shows up!! I've been at this for about a week and a half now and I finally got an appointment so DONT' GIVE UP, even when they tell you it'll be another 5 to 7 months.

GOOD LUCK GUYS and thank you for listening to my ranting lately. LOL

That's fantastic news!! Congratulations!!

Wow this is devastating news. I am still waiting for pkt 4.

I hear that, I keep watching this thread hoping it changes because we should (hopefully) be hearing about Packet 3 soon... :(

Thank you once again Laura, I have my packet all in order, going to go photocopy it tomorrow and put it in the mail via express post on Monday.I have butterflies! Can't imagine the emotions I will have for the interview!
Have a great night,
Lise

Haha, I know that feeling! The entire time I was in line at the post office I was completely nervous for some insane reason. And I'm glad to have hleped! Good luck! :)

CanadaMontreal has Appointments!

Thanks Laura, I went to the thread and have the documents:
1) checklist of documents
2) DS-230 part I and part II
3) DS-156 – 2 copies https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp
4) DS-156K – 1 copy http://www.state.gov...ation/82063.pdf
5) Form DS-160 – one copy, available online at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

So, my question now is on DS-156K it asks you to attach documents, am I right in understanding that the checklist serves as the attachment and we bring those items to the interview?

Thanks for the guidance, I think I have overthought this too much and am not sure of myself anymore!!!
Lise

Yup, the checklist in place of sending them. That's what I did, and everything was fine. Sent them Xpresspost the day DoS said P3 had been sent out and added a cover page lsiting what was inside and re-stating ym case #. That was it. Plus, I didn't physically get P3 until after I'd been authorized to book my interview so sending it as soon as P3 was sent shaved over a week off my processing time :)

I thought of that but without the instructions I am not sure what I all have to send. Don't want to screw up at this point!

I sent it without the physical instructions, this thread has a good summary: http://www.visajourn...-process-recap/

yeah, I think refreshing for awhile is the way to go. Even just a few days sooner for us would make a world of difference! I'll try to find out the date at which point I'm no longer able to change my booking, and if I don't have a new appointment by then, reschedule. Could be worse though, at least we only have about 3 more months of separation at the worst!!! :D

Exactly! While I'm stressed over timing and other things, its nice to know there's a light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. :)

CanadaMontreal has Appointments!

Well at least everything will be good to go prior to the wedding!! Our wedding is August 5th in Canada, then we're hopefully crossing on the 8th. We won't get legally married until we're back in the states. I just don't know what to do at this point though. Cos according to iampatricias poll, I have a 30% chance of getting the visa in time.... so now i'm more confused than ever!!

:( Just keep refreshing and hope to get something just a little bit sooner? I'm going to give it until near the end of June before I give up on rescheduling and find a couch to live on for a few weeks.

CanadaMontreal has Appointments!

I got the same day for my fiancee! Hopefully something will open up sooner, since we're supposed to leave for Hawaii on the 8th... don't think they'll issue the visa quick enough after that. But at least I have a date to plan things around!! Congrats to everyone who finally booked!! :)

Yeah, that's how I feel. And now we know for sure I can make the tentative wedding date of Sept 17th we've been working with, so we can start planning that! I really do need it a little sooner though since I have nowhere to live as of August 1st... but like you said, this is better than nothing! :D

CanadaPacket 3 quesiton

Thanks Ralyse.

Did you send originals or did you make photocopies of all the forms and just sent that in your packet 3?

Now that I have to re-send the package... just wondering if i should just make copies and send?

I just filled out all the forms on the computer and printed three copies of everything, sending what was necessary and filing the extras. (I'm slightly over prepared sometimes).

CanadaPacket 3 quesiton

Hi Ralyse,

I think we sent our Packet 3 around the same time and noticed that you have an interview date already!

I used DHL and sent out from Toronto to Montreal Consulate... DHL used the physical Montreal Consulate address... is that where you sent yours?

It has been a week and DOS said packet 3 still hasn't been logged yet...

Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything.

thanks!!

I sent mine to:
ATTN: Immigrant Visa Unit
315 Place d'Youville Suite 500
Montreal Quebec
H2Y 0A4

It took about a week from when I sent it until DoS said it had been processed. Hope that helps!

I didn't include any in my P3 to Montreal, I believe it's fine as long as you have them at the interview :)

Congratulations!! Mine's 8:01 on the 3rd, so I guess they just book them that way by default! :D

And I'm 100% with youy, without VJ I don't think we'd have been able to do this and with all the help and support these forums provide it's such a comfort and makes everything seem so simple!

CanadaP4 was logged but not allowed to book interview?

3rd time's the charm! I just called again and the lady gave me permissionw ithout me even asking! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

So, to anyone else who sees this, if they state that Pkt4 is ready but they don't give you permission just keep calling every 20 minutes or so and speak to different people. :)

YAY!

Congrats :) Hopefully the interview date isn't too disheartening. (It was Aug 17th when I left for work)
ralyseFemaleCanada2011-05-19 15:27:00
CanadaP4 was logged but not allowed to book interview?

Well, I found a pdf of packet 4 and it definitely instructs you to make an appointment online. Ugh so tempting!

Maybe try explaining when you call again that you're familiar with the process? Or just hope you get an agent who is better informed on Montreal's process?
ralyseFemaleCanada2011-05-19 15:17:00
CanadaP4 was logged but not allowed to book interview?

I called department of state twice today and they said that P4 was "put together" for my case today. I talked to two different people and when I asked if I'm eligible to book an interview at Montreal they told me I should wait. I explained to the second lady I talked to that if P4 was permission to book an interview then why couldn't I? She said I should wait just in case there's instructions within packet 4 that would make me want to book an appointment at a later date than I thought (yeah right e_e) and when I asked her if they'd flag my case if I tried to book an interview she said she didn't know. She also said they only know when P4 is logged, not when it's mailed out at they're mailed out in batches. It sounded like she was avoiding giving me "permission" to book an interview as their calls are monitored and she was probably just trying to do her job the way DoS wants them to.

So, this is what I know P4 has definitely been logged for me, but whether or not it was mailed is unknown. It was logged today.

What I don't know: can I book an interview now? Will Montreal flag my case if I try to book it? Does whether or not it's been physically mailed affect the status of my case? Will Montreal "know" or care?

It's a long weekend. I really, really don't want to wait for Montreal to mail it before I can book an interview.

I'm just theorizing, but if they only know when P4 is put together and not EXACTLY when it's sent, what would the problem be in booking once it's put together? I was told I could book mine on the same day they "put together" P4, and if they can't verify the "sent" status of it, what would the point be in waiting for it to arrive? Especially since with VJ you know everything that P4 contains?

The DoS employees don't seem to know a lot about the individual consulates *specific* procedures...

:( Hopefully someone else can weight in, but if it were me I would book it.

CanadaMontreal and P3/P4 Question

So I JUST got off the phone with DOS and they confirmed that my packet 3 response was logged in today (package physically arrived in Montreal on May 12)!

The woman kindly told me that I can call back in a few more days and they could probably give me my interview date, so I'm assuming she doesn't know Montreal doesn't assign dates for K1s anymore. I guess my question is, now that packet 3 is logged in, has packet 4 been sent or do I need to wait a few more days to know it's been 'sent'? I know I don't have to wait to have p4 physically in my hands before I can start attempting to book, but does Montreal usually log p3 responses and send p4 the same day? Since they don't need to assign anything?

I guess I'm just curious as to whether or not this is enough to start the interview booking game.

With us, my fiance was told in the morning P3 was logged, but not to book yet... and then in the afternoon I was told I could book. Call back and ask if P4 has been sent and you're approved to book? That would be my suggestion.

CanadaNo Immunization Records

Be hard to imagine you not having gotten the Whooping cough vaccine - it's a pretty standard requirement to go to school in Canada :)

Oh, I'm sure I've gotten everything! I just have no way of proving it! That's what I'm worried about, not having sufficient documentation for the medical.
ralyseFemaleCanada2011-05-20 20:29:00
CanadaNo Immunization Records

It depends if they used TDAP or ADACEL, they are both the same really just different companys, often doctors just day like " tetanus " so just ask your DR if it was either of thos ones.

Perfect, thank you so much for clarifying!

it is the first one on the list...

Combination Vaccine for:

Tetanus Diphtheria (Td)
Tetanus Diphtheria Pertussis

http://www.panelphys.../Pages/Age6.htm

Its called TDAP shot. or ADACEL.

So my doctor's paper saying he gave me a "tetanus shot" (that's all it says) isn't the right one then? Allright, I'll call him Tuesday, Thanks! :)
ralyseFemaleCanada2011-05-20 19:07:00
CanadaNo Immunization Records

Based on the Panel Physician's immunization page - it says for each immunization if you can provide 'An antibody titers blood test showing proof of immunity of ...' you're fine.

You didn't mention anything about Chickn pox or Tetanus Diphtheria Pertussis or the Flu shot - what about those?

http://panelphysicia.../Pages/Age6.htm

I had chicken pox when I was in grade 4, and I remember reading that verbally confirming that was enough? It's outside of flu season so I think that's covered and my Tetanus shot one just says "Tetanus shot" so is that different one I need?
ralyseFemaleCanada2011-05-20 18:27:00
CanadaNo Immunization Records
I'm worried that what my doctor provided me with isn't going to be sufficient. There's no way to get my previous records, so when I presented him with the information I would need, he ordered a blood test.

I was given back a sheet of paper that shows immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Hep B. And then a one line printout saying he gave me a tetanus shot in January.

I'm probably worrying over nothing (It's been known to happen) but even after I pressed my doctor he said that was all they'd need (I'm a 26-year old female). I was hoping someone might have an idea if I'm missing any documentation here? I haven't booked my medical yet because I need to get my work schedule for June/July first, but I want to make sure everything is in order when I do.

I'm nervous about that because my Fiancee hasn't had any tax returns from the previous years because she just finished school and was not working.

CanadaP4 Required?

Funny how DOS agents give conflicting advice. This is not the first time that someone told me they were told they had to wait for physical packet 4. When I was told packet 4 was sent, the woman said that I could schedule. I questioned it and she said that she had been there 10 years, she knew what she was talking about.

I hope that you get an appointment soon that works for you. Monday is way to soon for anyone not living in or around Montreal.

Yeah, the lady I talked to said basically the same thing when I mentioned what my fiance had been told earlier! Oh well, it's a relief to be at this stage, even if it's frustrating to be unable to book anything. Still no physical copy of P3 yet, even!

I can't recommend enough doing it via the email address on the panelphysicians.com website! They replied to me within 5 minutes, answered all my questions and ten minutes after I'd sent the initial email I had everything booked! CanadaIs this photo acceptable for the medical exam?

Indeed  I work in customer service and if I make a mistake I'm quick to admit it and fix it! Sometimes it's not my fault but I'll still correct it, if it only happens occasionally what's going to cost more- an angry customer that won't bring back business and will badmouth you or just re-doing something to make them happy? It's the customer's right to get what they pay for.

Exactly!

I work escalations for a large company so I spend a lot of time cleaning up errors made by our representatives (Well, and a lot of time with customers who just want things when nothing has actually happened, but that's a whole other ballpark). But nobody ever talks that much about good customer service, they always remember the bad!

Yay! Congrats on getting the refund! As someone whose employment is dealing with angry customers, it infuriates me when its ahrd to get appropriate resolution when you're so obviously right.

It was regular mail last month, too! Though it's worth noting that you don't need to wait for the instructions to complete, you can send the required forms before receiving the packet from Montreal. It might be easier to help if you could clarify what stage of the process you're at. Are you about to submit the initial petition and asking for that stage? Or have you gone through USCIS already and are asking about Montreal specifically?

CanadaPacket 3 Question

Hello All,

My fiancee and I received an NOA2 on 4/21/2011, but no Packet 3 as yet (so ~2 months since NOA2).

My immigration lawyer is totally unhelpful and simply says "wait for it, there's a backlog."

Odd thing is, the NOA2 says "Toronto" as the Consulate (not Montreal, which is where we assumed all Canadian K1s are processed).

Anyway, can anyone please let me know how I can figure out if Packet 3 has been sent?

Thanks very much!

Do you have your case number for the consulate? If so, you can call DOS. If not, I believe you'd need to call NVC to get your case number.

What province are you located in? That's what will determine if it's Montreal or Vancouver you'll be dealing with.
