Hi everyone. I just signed up, but I've been lurking around the website for 5 months or so. I had no touches since 6/22 on my account and I check it daily. I decided to call today and to my great surprise I was told that I was approved today! It is weird that my status still has not changed on the USCIS website, but the customer service guy assured me that it was just because I was approved today and I should be receiving my notice in 1-2 weeks. Congrats! We have the same NOA1 Date... I hope I was approved too... How did you call? When I call, they always tell me the info on the website...it's frustrating... Let me know how you contacted them (what options did you pock?) Congrats again!!!!

Right at the beginning of her tourist visa application in Manila, she already committed cheating and fraud. How she obtained an authenticated CENOMAR ( Certificate of No Marriage ) from the Census office is questionable because she will be traced upon verification as single or married ( unless there's inside job to hide her marriage certificate). It is really a sad reality and she has to face the consequences. Most of us got here in the US legally through sweat and blood and it's unfair that they have to cheat and commit fraud just to get here. I understand the love that binds, the love that will bind them together but they have to do it right.

Here is our case;

Me and ny wife got married here in Florida last March 2008 through the court. And as per immigration instruction we submitted a report of our marriage at the Philippine embassy in Washington, D.C. and probably, it is now filed at NSO-Manila. And now we are working out for our church wedding comes July 2010. So what are we going to di in the chancery? Coz I am still a Filipino when we get married and my wife is a US citizen already. What additional proof are we going to show aside from the usual church requirement? Please, somebody wants to shed light to this? Thank you so much!

I was just amazed how inaccurate info are given to petitioners when we call USEM. I contacted USEM the other day in regards to my interview date. The lady told me that I had no interview date yet and all the February slots have been filled. She said the earliest interview Patrick could have is March. I was heart-broken...

Then, the other day, I checked and we have an interview date along with the other people waiting for interviews... I was so happy...

I guess I learned my lesson... don't take every information given to me as matter of facts...

I am just happy we have our interview... Yipee!!!

NVC also told me our petition was forwarded to USEM on 11-20. I performrd the DHL check and a 72 pound package was sent form NVC to Manila on 11-21 and arrived 11-26. I called the Embassy yesterday and the lady said our petition arrived on 11-27 and to wait a week and call back. Maybe our petitions are at the bottom of the pile for an interview date.


May I ask how you was able to talk with someone on the 301-2000 number? Meryll called that number and was told to call the PLDT number. I am guessing the difference is in how you addressed the person at the Embassy.



Actually, my fiance was calling the PLDT number. They want you to call the PLDT number because they actually charge you to call them! It's all about the money smile.gif My fiance called more than 5 times and were given the wrong info... I was so tired of hearing bad news that they have not received our packet (even though the visa center in Washington DC told me that they have received the packet on 11/26) so I told my fiance that I would call. I called here from the US and called the US citizen line Tel. No. : (632) 301-2000 extension 2555, 2246. This has no charge but I had to pay for the overseas call (i used a phone card). They transferred me to the right person (i have no idea what department) but the lady finally gave me the correct information... I was just happy to find out our papers were not lost!

UPDATE: So I got frustrated so I called the US Citizen Line in US Embassy Manila. I told her the the whole story and she told me that they DID receive the paperwork from the NVC on 11/26! whew! So, i questioned her why my fiance was given the wrong info so many times... she had no answer for me... I was just glad they have the paperwork already! It's on queue to be assigned an interview appointment.

Okay, I've been reading different takes on this... I just want to know if I did the right thing.

star_smile.gif~ I sent my fiance 2 original copies of I-134 that are notarized. They are front and back. Notarized on the back.
I will ask him to make 2 more photocopies just in case before the interview.

star_smile.gif ~ Is there anything else that needs to be notarized besides the actual I-134??? I've read in other forums that some petitioners had the income tax return transcript notarized and other documents. Is this necessary??? I sent mine without notarizing them (except for the I-134).

Yes, I did! I was taken aback too! I sent my fiance a new Palm Treo and he had to pay a ridiculous amount of tax for it! I forgot how much but I was kind of disappointed, but he had to pay it to claim the Treo. There's really no way out of it... it sucks!!! after that... I never sent anything that expensive anymore through US mail. I just sent him a huge box full of goodies through the Filipino Store nearby, costs about 100 for an extra large box. It takes about 1-2 months to get there but at least he does not have to pay for anything.

My fiance has an interview on February 7th. I have a few questions:

~ Should I buy the ticket for him now?

~ If I do, when should I book it for? 1 week from the interview? 2 weeks? when do they usually get visa after approval?

~ What's the best deal out there from Manila to the East coast (FL) - one way??? I was thinking of continental, cathay, or northwestern. They have the MILES option (you earn miles). I'm definitely open to suggestions.

~ lastly, I've read in some forums that if your point of entry is JFK, they give you a temporary working permit for 90 days... how useful is this? Does anyone strongly recommend for us to do this or just wait until he gets his permanent working permit?

Your input will be greatly appreciated!

My Mom is my co-sponsor. She gave me a print out of her 3 latest paystubs but she got this info online. I don't even think she gets hard copies anymore since she has direct deposit. Is this sufficient evidence of income to support Affidavit of Support document? or should she request an actual paystub? I also sent 3 years worth of tax transcripts.

I definitely ditto everything everyone else has said... It's been a hard year, missing my fiance so much. But it's true want I read once. This is a "good" hardship, because eventhough we miss our fiance/fiancee so much, we are fortunate enough to have someone so special to miss... someone who we found true love with....someone who will be with us eventually for the rest of our lives.

For now, it is definitely hard. Every second that passes seems like it's forever. But hang in there and don't lose hope for "Every dark cloud has a silver lining." Our silver lining are upon us, we just have to wait just a little more...and with each other here at Visa Journey, to support and to care, we can make it. I sent all the financial support documents through USPS Priority Mail 2nd week of December. He still has not received it yet and I am worried that it is lost. He went to the Post office yesterday and they told him that they have not received anything yet and to wait for them to deliver him the slip which is a notice that he has a package before returning to the post office. I am just worried because all the original documents to show financial support is in that envelop.

Do you guys think because of the holidays, there's mail delay? International priority mail is usually 7 to 14 days.

We are looking for flight ticket from Manila to Florida (miami or fort lauderdale). We can't seem to find one that has JFK as POE. We want JFK for the temporary work stamp.

By the way, do you think it's worth it to get the temporary working stamp? afterall, it's only good for 90 days.

blush.gif Thanks all for your input. Just to be sure, and because I have a cosponsor, I just went ahead and scanned all of our w2's from 2004-2006. He can just print them out and bring it with him to the embassy during his interview.

I have all our tax trascripts, employer letters, bank statements, and I had just accepted an offer from my future employer (I graduate in May from Pharmacy school) and they are giving me a letter that I will give to Patrick that states the amt of money I will be making after graduation. I hope that's enough documentation... Oh, I hate paperwork! I want this to be over smile.gif I am sure everyone feels the same!

My fiance now my husband was with me during interview and he asked for a visa picked up and it was granted . we waited 4 days for it.



We gave the CO a written request signed by both of us and she said, "no problem, we will expedite it but make no promises on the number of days it will take." I think it took 4 working days to be ready for pick up.

Great organization of docs! i'm sure you will pass the visa interview.

just some comments/reminders:

1. paste your pix to the ds forms.
2. make sure that each folder is half an inch thick only and it should be flexible.
3. don't forget to keep/make your Valid ID handy to enter the embassy's premises.
4. for the cover page of each folder, pls include your name as the beneficiary and the name of the petitioner.
5. make sure you have copies of the ALL the documents in your folder. and bring the original documents as well. just give them the photocopies of michelle's tax docs and make the original ones ready.
6. PRAY HARD!!! take a deep breathe and remove all your worries and fears before entering the room of the consul.

i'm sure you will really make it, kuya patrick!
