Kakatuwa ka naman mag-kwento....you really do had a nice time there!!! halatang halata!hehehehe

yes, I was star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif !!eto may kinakain pa ako ngayong UBE ensaymada from Bohol!!!! Although somebody was not impressed ( kasi pata[os na lahat ng activity kahapon kaya wala na gaano siguro napanood), the best thing is they were able to put up a place where Filipinos here in USA could gather and share cultural heritage annually. In fact, we witnessed the awarding of recognition from the county declaring Philfest ( http://www.pcfitampa...ilfest2009.html ) as one of the major events in Hillsborough County.

PhilippinesPHILFEST 09 -TAMPA, FL
Hi sa mga kapwa ko Floridians!!! May nagpunta ba sa inyo sa Tampa PhilFest09? This was April 3-5, 2009. Ika-14th year na nila and maraming magagandang nagyari. I particularly enjoyed the food being sold there..he he he he he he...kahit isang taon pa lang nawala sa Pinas, namiss ko talaga ang dinuguan, papaitan, pinakbet Iloko. pero kakatuwa kailangan kang bumili ng food coupons para makakauha ng pagkain, di puwede ang cash.

They have foods from particular regional groups Ilonggo, Bicolano, Ilocano, Boholano, etc...

Over all the Philippine Dances makes everyone in awe and nostalgia. he he he he he sabi ko nga kay misis gusto ko sumali sa Tawag ng Tanghalan. here's the link for more proof : http://www.pcfitampa...ilfest2009.html

Philippinesa song for your partner

BREATHLESS by shayne ward

If our love was a fairytale
I would charge in and rescue you
On a yacht baby we would sail
To an island where we’d say I do

And if we had babies they would look like you
It’d be so beautiful if that came true
You don’t even know how very special you are

Chorus

You leave me breathless
You’re everything good in my life
You leave me breathless
I still can’t believe that you’re mine
You just walked out of one of my dreams
So beautiful you’re leaving me
Breathless

And if our love was a story book
We would meet on the very first page
The last chapter would be about
How I’m thankful for the life we’ve made

And if we had babies they would have your eyes
I would fall deeper watching you give life
You don’t even know how very special you are

You leave me breathless
You’re everything good in my life
You leave me breathless
I still can’t believe that you’re mine
You just walked out of one of my dreams
So beautiful you’re leaving me

You must have been sent from heaven to earth to change me
You’re like an angel
The thing that I feel is stronger than love believe me
You’re something special
I only hope that I’ll one day deserve what you give me
But all I can do is try
Every day of my life

You leave me breathless
You’re everything good in my life
You leave me breathless
I still can’t believe that you’re mine
You just walked out of one of my dreams
So beautiful you’re leaving me
Breathless
Breathless

I am planning to do the same..after my fiance medical and no problem with that, we will buy a plane ticket leaving on March 8..I already started looking and I think I got great price for $810 with $100 fee if I want to reschedule it..I think, i will have a good deal with that rather paying on plane ticket leaving in the next two days!!!Good luck on every one! good.gif

When I 1st heard my Wife's Interview.. I was so excited I quickly called my agent and scheduled both my daughter and wife for March 5th.. Then after few days it hit me.. I thought about worst case scenarios, I mean I have no control of the Visa, why am I controling the flight.. Called my agent again and cancelled it.. Told em I will buy it when we get her Visa to be on the safe side..

I mean.. I was imagining.. What if she doesn't have her VISA before March 5th? I am going to have to re-schedule my flight $50-$100, daughter and wife too..

It can accumulate to $300 worth of charges for re-scheduling fees.. Does money could have went to clothes shopping when they get here..

I think you have made your point plenty of times wacko.gif But as everyone says, it's up to the couple to take the risk. For me, I have the same situation as JeffMayeth. I think it is more economical for me to pay the rescheduling fee than to book a flight that is close to the interview date. I want to be with my Patrick as soon as possible! Lets put it this way, I paid $710 for the ticket before interview ( a good price for Manila to Fort Lauderdale flight) . If I book it after the interview and schedule the flight 2 weeks after the interview, the price goes up to $1600 something for one-way (ROUND-TRIP is CHEAPER! - go figure! wink.gif ). So, there you go... I chose to buy before the interview.

yes.gif But as you said, if you are not comfortable buying the ticket before the interview, "To each is own." You have the freedom to buy the ticket whenever you want smile.gif That's the beauty of it all!

The bottomline is, I want to be with my baby already. I miss him so so much! luv.gif
Eternal LoveMalePhilippines2008-01-31 19:31:00
PhilippinesDid you buy your ticket before or after the interview?
wink.gif I just want to survey how many purchased airline tickets/bookings before/after actually passing the interview? We are about to purchase and I want to know YOUR experience/s?

tongue.gif Is it worth it to buy before passing the interview (worst come to worst, we can pay the $50 to rebook the flight)?
or wait after the interview (but our target date for him to be here is Feb 15, his interview is Feb 7th! It would be too expensive to buy after the interview because it is s close to the flight date)?

PhilippinesWhy there are pinays out there who feels so conceited about theirselves once they arrived here in the States?
:dance:HELLO EVERYONE  Puwede makisabat? Part-time cashier ako and sometimes loader..aba akala mo kung sino makapag-utos at maangas magsalita, mayabang. Ako nahihiya sa asawa nila na very humble and always utter " I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP or THANK YOU MUCH " phrase after you serve them. Naririning kong nagsasalita ng English, minsan gusto ko humagalpak sa tawa..... nakakatuwang pakinggan, he he he he he LOL!!!

PhilippinesBringing Yaya ( Baby sitter ) in the US

Hi. I checked out this option of getting nanny from Philippines as I am having our baby this December, we both working and I am very hesitant to get a nanny without Filipino culture. I want to get nanny in the Philippines with background known by my family in the Philippines. But working visa is not going to work for nanny position as it is not considered special skills and also you have can't just pay minimum wage. Looking for Au Pair is a good idea but most agencies do not cater Filipinos and it's very expensive as you have to pay agency aside from paying for expenses that you're au pair incur just to get here. Getting au pair is not different from getting an American nanny.

You're best bet is to find Filipino in your area.

We sent her back to school to finish High School and we will enroll her to TESDA for a short-term course somewhat similar to CNA here ( certified nursing assistant ). In that way, she will be qualified for being a skilled worker. It is true though that it would take sometime to get her here. I was watching Atty. Gurfinkel's Citizen Pinoy over TFC and they had a topic bringing yaya or katulong from the Philippines. Of course we are not paying her just minimum wage, we love her so much and we won't be mean to her. She's been with the family for more than 30 long years.

PhilippinesBringing Yaya ( Baby sitter ) in the US
Posted Image, so many many things have said! I said I need suggestions and thank you for those who who support my cause and really have the right ideas about going through this process. So, since this a Filipino thread allow me to explain my side in the language: Una, napagtanto ko na yung iba dito ay talagang di nagbasa o walang alam sa senaryo ng pagkuha ng katulong o yaya sa Pilipinas...sadyang matalas ang pananalita na wari mo yung nagtatanong eh wala talagang kaalam-alam.

And lastly, I posted this to Philippine thread not to be bashed or to be mistreated by a fellow-Filipino........ If you don't want my topic please save spaces for those who want to share. Thank you,

Posted ImageMe and my wife are planning to petition a yaya for our baby girl who is turning 1 this October. I have been reading lots of info online and now I am getting confused on what particular visa to apply for. Any helpful suggestions to simplify my upcoming application, please. PhilippinesWhere's your hometown?
ON PHILIPPINE LANGAUES AND DIALECTS

According to Ethnologue, a total of 171 native languages are spoken in the country. Except for English, Spanish, Hokkien (Lan-nang), Cantonese, Mandarin, and Chavacano, all of the languages belong to the Malayo-Polynesian language family.

There are 13 indigenous languages with at least one million native speakers: Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilokano, Hiligaynon, Waray-Waray, Kapampangan, Bikol, Albay Bikol [1], Pangasinan, Maranao, Maguindanao, Kinaray-a, and Tausug. One or more of these is spoken natively by more than 90% of the population.

A Philippine language family identified by Robert Blust is nearly synonymous with the Malayo-Polynesian languages of the Philippines. The differences are that the family includes languages of north Sulawesi and the Yami language of Taiwan, but excludes the Sama-Bajaw languages of the Sulu Archipelago as well as a couple North Bornean languages spoken in southern Palawan.

Hey Patrick, here's some dinardaraan, bisukol, marunggay & saluyot for you and the missus.

It makes me glad to realize that your province was named after one of the most prominent men my hometown of Vigan has ever produced. Furthermore, the capital of your province was named after my father's uncle, Nueva Viscaya's former Gov. Leon Cabarroguis of the Cabarroguis clan of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.

NAIMBAG NGA ALDAW QADAQAYO AMIN!!! I am Patrick from Cajel, Diffun, Quirino

Quirino Province acquired its juridical personality as a result of the division of the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Isabela on June 18, 1966 under R.A. 4734. Quirino was named in honor of the late president Elpidio A. Quirino.

On June 21, 1969, three year after its birth as a sub-province, R.A. 5554 was enacted amending R.A. 4734 creating the Municipality of Cabarroguis taken from the portions of Diffun, Saguday and Aglipay. Finally, R.A. 6394 was passed on September 10, 1971 further amending R.A. 5554 separating the sub-province of Quirino from its mother province of Nueva Vizcaya constituting into a regular province. Hon. Leonardo B. Perez and Hon. Benjamin b. Perez had authored R.A. 6394.

The province of Quirino was formally established on February 10, 1972 upon assumption to office of the first elected provincial and municipal officials headed by Dionisio A. sarandi as Provincial Governor.

Eventually, on February 25, 1983, Batas Pambansa Big. 345 was enacted, creating the municipality of Nagtipunan, a division of the municipality of Maddela.

Long before its creation, Quirino was the forest region of the province of nueva Vizcaya inhabited by the tribal groups known as the Negritos. These tribal groups roamed the hinterlands and built their huts in the heart of the jungle area. Ilocano dialect is widely used in the lowlands of the various municipalities while Ifugao is the predominant dialect in the upland parts. Other dialects are Bugkalot, Pangasinense and Kankanai.

The Sierra Madre Mountain Range provides a natural barrier on the eastern and southern border and the Mamparang Range on the western part of the province. the province is generally mountainous, about 80 percent of the total land area is covered by mountains and highlands.

My wife Michelle, is already a US Citizen ( been here in Florida for 15 years )who was born in Manila but raised in Orani, Bataan where her clan lives ( Cruz -Mangalindan ).

Hi everyone. I just signed up, but I've been lurking around the website for 5 months or so. I had no touches since 6/22 on my account and I check it daily. I decided to call today and to my great surprise I was told that I was approved today! It is weird that my status still has not changed on the USCIS website, but the customer service guy assured me that it was just because I was approved today and I should be receiving my notice in 1-2 weeks. Good luck to all June filers! I wish you a speedy approval!

Congrats! We have the same NOA1 Date... I hope I was approved too... How did you call? When I call, they always tell me the info on the website...it's frustrating... Let me know how you contacted them (what options did you pock?) Congrats again!!!!
