Congratulations

hi, i juz want to ask if how long does the NVC schedules interview after case completion? we called the NVC and they told to us that we juz wait for their email

The NVC does not schedule interviews. Call the USE in Manila - they will tell you if you can schedule your interview yet.

Edit: I see that you are doing CR1 - My advice does apply to K visas - Not sure about CR1.

QUOTE (ahadhayat @ Apr 23 2009, 08:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
a couple of questions:
when did u file your 2008 tax return? i filed it on the 12th of april.
do you know where i can order my last 3 yrs tax transcripts quickly? any websites people have used?
Also, i was in college in 2006, so i didnt have to file my taxes as i didnt make a single dime. If i ask for 2006 tax transcript, what will i get?

If you didn't file a return, obviously there is no transcript!

The only place to get a tax transcript is from the IRS of course.

The instructions for the linked form give a phone number you can call to order yours.

IRS form 4506-T

Hello,
I am waiting on the NVC number right now. In the mean time, getting all the documents ready. When it comes to my taxes, what IRS tax transcript am i going to send NVC? I dont think i will be able to get 2008 tax transcripts. So should i apply for 2006 and 2007? What other Tax related documents will i be sending? I filed my taxes from Turbo Tax. Should i send a copy of my taxes from Turbo tax for 2008 with my w-2 etc?
Thanks in advance,
Ahad

I got my 2008 tax transcript well over a month ago. Your turbo tax return with W-2 is just as good.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Suggestion on writing a letter to US Embassy..
Just state that you filed an extension because you needed more time to file a complete and accurate return. That's the typical explanation on an income tax extension whether it be personal or corporate.

I wouldn't go into the details about wanting to file a joint return, etc.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)still stuck at NVC
QUOTE (goat @ May 1 2009, 12:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We just got notice by email that our petition has been sent. We got a letter in March saying "will be sent within a week" but that was a lie. It took three weeks to find out that we were stuck at NVC in admin processing, as they continued to lie until reached by telephone.

Our total wait in AP = 43 days (March 18-April 30)

I have a feeling that NVC imposes an AP deadline on themselves that allows the consulate to get the file, send the Packet 3, and schedule an interview within the 4 month period for which the USCIS approval is good. Like, right at the very end of that 4 month period, and assuming the petitioner and beneficiary send stuff back quickly.

We had the consular case number, and we downloaded the Packet 3 stuff from the consular website and went and got the medical exam, police certificate, etc., while waiting for AP to finish. Now we expect to get Packet 3 around May 15 and send everything in the next day.

Goat

First off, congrats that you are out of AP at the NVC. I am currently at day 39. So you actually received an email from the NVC saying your case had been sent on to the foreign consulate? That's the first I have heard that they have done that. Most people have to call every week and ask but never get any notification.

Good luck on the rest of your Journey.

Oh, it would also be very helpful if you would fill-in your time line. We are now even tracking time stuck at NVC and your data is valuable.

Did you call the NVC to make sure the case has been sent on to the foreign consulate? That's the first step. It could be stuck there for "additional processing" at the NVC. I'm not sure a congressional inquiry can do much now - you have alrady been approved.

I think that what the casework form is for, to see the status of my case. Like whether or not it have left NVC or still stuck there for AP. The NVC still haven't reply to my email. I sent it last week. On their website, they said email was the best way to contact them.

Calling is much better. You will get an immediate answer as to whether your case has been sent on or not. Not sure why you are resisting calling them.

603 334-0700 Have the case number and both of your birthdays ready.

Well, I talked to the secretary at the attorney's office. She told me to fill out this casework form, it's a federal agency help form. I don't know if it helps, but the attorney that I hired to handle my case is now a congressman. It sure didn't speed up the progress as far as a whole. So who knows if this form will help. Also, the secretary told me to tell my fiancee to go to the consulate in Vietnam and ask them if they have anything for her. We'll see if either of these help at all.

The NVC sent me their letter dated April 8th, 2009. It stated that my fiancee will soon receive information from the consulate. It's been more than a month now. She has yet to receive anything. I sent an email to the NVC, but haven't got a reply yet. When I received the letter from the NVC like I did, I shouldn't have to do anything right? I just wait? Is my wait about right? What does this all mean? I hope my fiancee will get some answer soon. If she still doesn't receive anything by end of June, I'm going to be very worried. Please shed some light on this for me. Thanks.

You need to call the NVC at 603.334.0700. They will ask for your case number (on the letter you received) and names & birth dates for you and the beneficiary. Ask them when your case was sent on the the foreign consulate. Sometimes they are delayed for up to 50 days (see thread pinned at the top of this page).
