K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC letter

Sorry I couldn't edit my previous post. The Online Registration for the Medical has the MNL Case Number, not the Appointment Confirmation for the Interview.

Has your fiancee scheduled her interview at the US Embassy Manila yet? If so, she can proceed with the Medical already. No need for the NVC Letter / NOA2. When asked about where she got her MNL Case Number, she can say you guys got it by phone.

She only has to show the following at the SLEC.ph guard by the door:

- SLEC.ph Online Information/Confirmation sheet (This is only if she registered online. If not, no biggie. She can fill up her information there. I'd suggest that she register online though. It saves time. www.slec.ph)

- Passport

- 2 photocopies of her passport bio page

- US Embassy Manila Interview Date Confirmation. (Either the email or the Confirmation page when she scheduled her interview. The one with the barcode.)

- 2 photocopies of this Appointment letter / Confirmation page.

- 3 2x2 photos (White Background)

- Black Ballpen (Not a Gel pen or Sign pen)

- Payment of Php 9143.00

That's it. smile.png

Side note: If you really want a document stating the MNL Case Number, You can do this through NVC Inquiry. Email them at NVCInquiry@state.gov and put your USCIS Receipt Number on the Subject line, and your name as Petitioner. In the body of the email, provide again your USCIS Receipt Number, Petitioner's Name, Petitioner's Date of Birth, Beneficiary's Name and Beneficiary's Date of Birth. Ask for the MNL Case Number the the Case Status if it has been sent to US Embassy Manila already.

They would reply 10-12 days after you sent it. So I guess, if you do it now, you'd have a reply before June 4. She can then print this out and bring this with her to the Medical. This is optional though. She can still take the medical without this.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC letter

Quck question: How long to receive the NVC letter with the MNL number? My fiance will be doing the medical on or around June 4th, and I want to make sure she has everything she needs.

If I haven't received it by Monday I'll start calling. I received the MNL number over the phone on or around May 5th.

Thank you in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsplz help

I receive a noa2 from the nvc on the 8 of this month saying my approve petition was approve and shipped to the listed consulate....... but am seeing where other person noa2 says it was shipped to nvc or dos can someone help me understand why they sent out two different noa2

Happened to me. It wasn't sent directly to the Consulate. All cases go through NVC because NVC is the one 'giving out' the case numbers and THEN gets forwarded to the consulate. :) Stay on top of your case though. Call NVC after a week or so to check if they already have your case number.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy Congressman did/did not/maybe helped me get an NOA2

State: North Dakota
Congressman: Kevin Cramer

1. During the JUN-OCT 2012 CSC Blackhole, just on 5th month mark, Christopher sent an email to Congressman Cramer's office. Their constituent services replied and sent out privacy authorization forms. After a few weeks, our I-129F case was approved.

2. After the Interview, we had 221g and sent in all the docs but was stuck in AP for almost a month. We contacted them through email and within 12 hours they replied. Said they have contacts at DoS who have sent out an official inquiry on our case, directly in contact with the Consular Office at the US Embassy in Manila. Within 5 days, my visa was issued. :)

(Sorry, delayed post. Just saw this thread.)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow long for NVC case number?????

Try to call NVC again. If they can't find your case. Call USCIS. Ask for Tier 2. Ask where they sent the file.

Our NOA2 was April 25th. And people sharing the same NOA2 date as mine, got their MNL Case Numbers already. I, on the other hand, didnt.

Ours was forwarded to NRC not NVC. Have the USC put pressure on USCIS and NVC to locate your case.

Keep calling the NVC. They should have your MNL case number any day now. I don't remember reading them anything other than our names and our birth dates, and maybe our WAC/EAC number.

NOA2: April 25, 2013

NOA2 Hardcopy: Not yet delivered to my fiance.

---

Tried to beat the clock (12am EST) last Friday. Called and gave our CIS Number. He didn't tell me right away that our case wasn't in the system yet like most operators that I've talked to.

He proceeded on asking me "Do you have an approval yet?" (We haven't gotten the physical NOA2 yet.)

I said, "We have had an approval."

He said, "Will you read the first line, please?"

I said, "No, I don't have the physical mail as I'm the beneficiary."

He said, "Let the one who has received the letter to call when he gets the Approval Letter."

Judging from that conversation, I think they have our case numbers, but won't release it to me.

:(

Apple 21 do you think it will be good if i will apply for them passport before i leave philippines? even theire BC is written there that i was married to theire biological father? Before i asked to the department of forein affair about this and they said ,,they can issue the passport for them but they cannot do anything about theire BC, just they will follow all what's the written to theire BC!! So i was worried it might be complicated when we start to apply for them a visa !!! thank you for your early advice, im so much appreciate it! :)

Thanks Hank! That's what I thought too. We did talk with attorney, and he filled us with a load of ####### about needing to spend 300,00 just to make notation on birth certificate. I think we will go with it like you said she has full custody so shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks again, we appreciate the help!

We're going to just stick it out with the K-1 process. I don't know if I was MISINFORMED when I called USCIS, but... it's sounding like that was the case (or maybe I misunderstood what I was told--this is all fairly complicated). We got really good advice from the vast majority of posters (when we really needed it) and that is greatly appreciated. It's also been encouraging to see the posts from those who've been approved recently.. again, thank you..

You would need to withdraw the I-129F petition before filing the I-130. You can marry and he can stay and wait with you for as long as he is granted visitation time in the US. He would need to leave before he overstays. He needs to return home for the medical and interview anyway. He cannot enter the US with the intent to marry and STAY and adjust status.

Well... ick. When I called and spoke to the woman at the call center, she did tell me I'd need to withdraw the I-129F, and she gave me a list of forms that we'd need to file in order for him to stay and NOT return to Amsterdam. It's frustrating that the whole process is so complicated that the people who are being paid to answer the questions, don't know the answers. I guess we will just continue to wait.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAbandoning the K-1
It's my understanding that refiling would put us back at the beginning of yet another long wait--the difference would be, Tony would be here in the US, not in Amsterdam. The tentative plan is to wait for a bit longer--I'm planning to go to The Netherlands sometime this summer. If something shakes loose on the K-1 in that time, we'd just continue on that journey. If nothing's changed, he'd fly back to the US with me and we'd get married here and refile.

I'm just so tired of the indefinite wait. It's like being in line at the grocery store...... for months.

Thanks, btw, for all of the comments and advice. We're going to continue to discuss and weigh options. I guess I don't understand why waiting for the CR-1 would be as agonizing since he'd be here.. or could he be made to return to Amsterdam?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAbandoning the K-1
We received notice of receipt of our K-1 package on 12/28/2012; we received the first NOA on Jan. 2, 2013. At that time, the estimated time for NOA 2 was 5 months. I called USCIS today and was told that based on what cases are currently being processed by the California Service Center, we could expect to wait an additional 6 months (from now! 4/16/2013). I'm so disappointed and so disheartened. We are talking about changing tactics and filing the I-130 and adjustment package information. I don't think it would save any TIME, but at least Tony would be in the US (he's coming from The Netherlands). We need advice, and guidance, and prayers wouldn't hurt either. :help:

Please help?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNow what? confusing forms and options

Yes.  I pour over the guides and read the FAQs... It all gets so overwhelming that it's easy to forget pieces. Tomorrow I'm going to use that guide and go through the documents, make sure everything is signed, all the blanks are marked N/A where appropriate, and do the cover letter with a check-list. I'm missing a couple documents yet--they should arrive by the end of the week, and then the whole 5 lbs of paper will be off (at least, it seems like it should weigh that much!).

VisaJourney and the people here have all been so very helpful. I don't know how we'd have made it through otherwise!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNow what? confusing forms and options

Our K-1 Visa was approved at the end of September. Tony gave his 30 days notice at work and traveled from Amsterdam to Minneapolis on Nov 4. We were married on Nov 15. He got his SSN on Nov 19. We have FINALLY saved enough to file the I-485, have all the required documents required for it and the I-864, and plan to file the I-765 at the same time.

Now I have questions (I can't seem to find instructions that say DO THIS--EXACTLY): When filing the I-765, do we use the category (a)(6), or ©(9)? I'm confused because although Tony's here on a K-1 Visa, he's no longer my fiance. Also, we haven't filed previously for the adjustment of status and it's within 90 days of his date of entry (in regard to the ©(9) category).

And at the top of the I-765 form (not the portion where you Do not write in this block), there is a blank for Which USCIS Office?, Date(s), and on the line underneath that, Results (Granted or Denied -- attach all documentation). What am I supposed to fill in there? We've never applied for this so we haven't been granted or denied anything, and does the question regarding the USCIS office refer to the one we've sent the packet to, or the office that processed all of our K-1 information, or... neither of these options?

Yikes. What a mountain of paperwork. Going through all of this STUFF has given me new insight into issues surrounding immigration and employment....

Help will be much, MUCH appreciated..

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRelationship Evidence
I used Skype logs--two or three lines only from each week to specify dates, and then put them together by month. We also use WhatsApp on our cell phones, and emailed that log to myself. I did the same thing--took a couple lines by date from each week then compiled them into months. I think I condensed it all to about ten pages per program. I specifically listed them in the Evidence of Ongoing Relationship, gave each of them a cover page and sent it with the packet. Of course, we haven't been approved yet... so I dunno if it's enough, too much, not enough, etc.. (my point was to try and demonstrate the ongoing relationship, and use the logs as an example of our day-to-day discussions. And yes, chat logs can be easily falsified. I had 100s of pages; there's likely no point in sending all of that--at least, that was how I looked at it.)

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI864 HELP!
Hello, I am a frequent visitor of this site and it has helped me so much in my journey so far. Since I have not found the answer to a specific question, I have decided to finally create an account and ask it myself. Here is my current situation:

I brought my wife (fiance at the time) here on a K1 visa and we got married on 2-2-2013. We have no children or dependents. Now it is time to start filing for AOS. I am currently double checking, triple checking, and quadruple checking my i485 packet to make absolutely sure that everything is filled out correctly and I am having trouble understanding some questions in part 3 and part 5 of form i864(affidavit of support)

Part 3, question 10 states. "Enter the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring on this form from Part 3, Items 8 and 9." Then there are two boxes to fill out. My question is, do I enter a value for question 8 in the first box, and another value for question 9 in the next box?

What I have now is in the first box [1] (for my spouse)and in the second box [0] (for dependents) because as I understand it, it is asking two seperate questions. Is this right?

Then the same applies for me in part 5 question 21.h I put [1][1] as derived from 21.a [1][0] and 21.b [0][1]. The rest of the 21 questions were answered with zeros Will USCIS see this as me trying to sponsor 11 immigrants or was this filled out correctly?

My deadline to file is 3-9-2013. Any and all help is greatly appreciated
