At ur interview CO determines if ur case needs AP.
99.99% muslim males gets put on AP and there is no way to avoid it.CO determines what he needs to investigate during ur interview. It can be name check,FBI background ,finger print check, criminal n court records, relationship n residential/work history investigation or what ever u can possibly think of.Each of these are assigned to private investigation firms, case is sent to Washington and after getting an Ok( which can take from weeks to years),u can get called for a second interview or can get ur visa.

so if he was a christian or an atheist, it'd be different? or is it just the fact that he'd be coming from a middle eastern country that would automatically put him in AP? that really sucks. i guess i should prepare mentally for a wait too, i had hoped he'd be here to celebrate our second wedding anniversary together sad.gif

damn.

thanks.

There's an entire sub-forum dedicated to AP. Have you tried reading there?

lol, i didn't even realize that there was this....thanks. will take a look, but i wanted to hear from people also who have gone through this and know what was being checked out. hubby and i aren't criminals or anything, worst i've done is gotten a speeding ticket, and made an illegal u-turn once, etc...stupid stuff. hubby is boring. lol

thanks.

right, but how, and what exactly...is there some kind of worldwide database they look at? i'm just curious because i'm anticipating that happening to my case and i'd like to be able to provide enough info for my hubby at his interview so that they don't go overboard with being nitpicky and annoying lol...if that's even possible biggrin.gif

How about a condom?

Haole, your comment is not helpful, if you have nothing constructive to add then please dont post.

Be careful making judgements about what is or is not constructive. Just because you don't "get it" you deem it as nothing constructive and run around deleting posts and tossing about warnings. I see the comment as allowing the OP an opportunity to realize the parallel of the two objects and deduce that it is just as unproductive to send in a perfume box.

I will add that Haole's comment is more appropriate to Off Topic and is not acceptable in the Upper Forums. TayRivers has issued only a warning - a 4 hour suspension as per Captain Ewok's instructions earlier this year, could also have been issued. The comment was out of line, and your public objection to a moderator ensuring that offf topic comments in an inappropriate location are addressed is also inappropriate.

perhaps it was helpful but definitely a tad amusing.

to the OP, hope you can put together enough stuff....i am afraid i may be in your situation soon enough.

Yes, a little nerve wrecking to know we have a second interview. Our first one went great then we were placed in Ap process. The embassy knows my wife is pregnant so they rushed the Ap process.

Shane;

You may NOT have a second interview! We didn't! We were put on AP. After we came out of AP, we needed to file an I-212 with our local USCIS office in Miami. We were told by the consulate that once we had the approval letter in hand, we should schedule an appointment to bring that letter in with a my wifes passport so that they can issue her visa.

What I'm getting at is that if the Consul kept your wife's passport from the first interview and did not return it to her, chances are that there may not be a second interview. When she left, did she pay for DOMESA (the courrier service that delivers the visa)?

I would contact the Consulate via e-mail immediately (if you haven't already done so) to clarify this issue. Who knows, if your wife gets her visa soon, we might meet you guys on the plane back to the states (LOL). I'm flying down to Bogota as soon as my wife calls me to inform me the visa has arrived (which should be early next week).

Anyhow, congrats.

Ecellent feedback. You were right, I emailed the embassy and reminded them of my wife having her passport there. they emailed me back to say never mind on the interview My wife was approved. they said they would send her passport within 5 business days.

Stephen + Elisha,
thanx for ur comments yes i had my interview in pakistan embassy of america they kept my passport and told me that once my visa is ready they will send it to me, and it has been over 2 months i am still waiting,

i'm sorry, but considering the fact that there are a lot of political issues surrounding the stability of pakistan right now, i hope you are not surprised about your still being under AP at this point. i would try to just relax and hope that things end quickly, but don't stress yourself out. i know it's easier said and done, and God knows i've spent weeks in bed crying and being like a zombie from all this ###### that i've been through....which is probably similar to what you have gone through as well. but honestly...you can't let this overwhelm you to this point. try to keep busy and do what you normally do and Inshallah your visa will come through soon enough. but honestly...again....pakistan i guess is considered a high risk country for the US immigration authorities, so it's of no surprise to someone like me to read about this.....hopefully you will be reunited with your loved one soon, as will i and everyone else here waiting good.gif rose.gif

United KingdomSome amazing news regarding my cat
hi and congrats about your ordeal. just had a Q though: are you bringing him to the US with you? hope it wont be a hassle, i checked into bringing my cats traveling with me a year back and apparently there are some rather tight standards when it comes to pets, so i hope that youll have what you need in order to do that....he is adorable btw!

We only speak English at home, except to the dog. He is usually in enough trouble that
"Kharashova devushka" is never a bad way to go, especially if you don't know what type of ladies you're talking to. Keep it clean and let her surprise you with the dirty words when she's ready!

kharoshaya jenshina is better. devushka means little girl, jenshina (the "j" is more of a "zh" sound) means woman.
