IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Affidavit Of Support I-864EZ ?	Affidavit Of Support I-864EZ ? - I have a question about this. I am retired and easily meet the 125% poverty level requirement for support. I intend to use only my social security and my pension to support this. The I-864 EZ requirements say that I need W2's but the year end statements I get are 1099-R for the pension and SSA-1099-SM for social security. It seems like those should suffice but I don't want to make any mistakes at this point.   I also have printed the Social Security Letter that is available online and shows my income from them as backup. I also have an income verification letter from my pension plan. I think sending those is a good idea. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Visiting Cuba for Interview	I don't think this can be correct. I am an American and have been to the U.S. Interest Section in Havana several times. I can't imagine that they would exclude you from the interview if you want to be there. Whether you go or not I assume is a personal choice. It seems that some go and some do not. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 2013 I-130 Filers	Elisabeth,   I don't know how we got approved so fast; it was just a routine filing with no expedite request.  However, being approved so fast can be a curse as much as a blessing because now we are waiting for my minor son's to be approved so that he can go through the process with my wife. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	May 2013 I-130 Filers	We filed our I-130's on May 22, 2013.  My wife's went to the California Service Center (CSC) and my son's was sent to the National Benefits Center (NBC).  My wife's was petition (I-130) approved on July 23, 2013.  Did a service request to, through a tier 2 officer on July 26, 2013 asking that my son's petition be expedited to bring his in synch with my wife's.  Tier 2 officer said to check back on August 10 on status.of the expedite request (which the tier 2 said shouldn't be a problem) so keeping my fingers crossed. Yes, you are right she doesn't need the Exit Clearance, just the CFO.  However, she does want to exit on her Philippine passport and enter the US on the US passport to avoid the tax that would be imposed upon using the US Passport. I believe so, because you want him to exit the Philippines on his Philippines passport to avoid paying the penalties for exiting on the US passport related to having overstayed, or not having had a Philippines Visa in the US passport (even though the child never "entered" the Philippines.  When the child gets to the US he/she will enter on their US Passport.   Edited by KJA85302, 09 September 2013 - 08:38 AM. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Filing Mistake. Not sure what to do, please help.	I agree with those saying do not wait to send it.  Copy your receipt, it has  barcode on it, so they can match it up.  Send the documents to where you know the case to currently be assigned to. Keep copies of everything.  You can also call the service center and make a service request.  If you send the docs, and for some reason they do not match the docs up, you are no worse off.  If you don't send them and wait for an RFE - you will be doing exactly that - waiting. You have nothing to lose by sending the docs.  I recently opened a service reuest on our case.  They told me to call back in 15 days to be assured that it was completed.  Before the 15 days I had expired, I received an e-mail confirming that it was completed.  It was a VERY smooth and easy process. Your son is an American citizen as evidenced by his possessing a US Passport.  In addition to that the only thing I would recommend is that your boyfriend/husband also carry a notarized statement from you stating that he is traveling with your consent and knowledge. We are plan to complete the process in the Philippines, but we are worried that we will not be able to transfer to the embassy there. I have contacted USCIS and they said to contact NVC. I called NVC, but they said they could not do anything until they receive the papers from USCIS. It's been a month and two days later and I still have not received the notice approval  yet. Yes it's two different forms. You should have received an approval notice (NOA2) from the USCIS. I'm sorry but , what is a AOS mean ?   The same thing happened to me. I have a thread about it.  Basically, got approved on July 25, NVC received and transferred to to Consulate on August 7. We emailed the consulate for packet 3 and received that on August 14. We returned packet 3 on August 16. I emailed the consulate on August 27, and was advised that the case is in the que to be assigned a interview date.   Keep in mind that while all of this was going on, I never received a NOA2 from USCIS. I had called them 10 days after we got the txt/email on july 25, and was advised that it could take up to 30 days. ON August 23 however, we received another txt/email with the following:   On August 23, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.     We did receive a letter from NVC that our case was transferred on August 07 to the local consulate. Ok, I received the same letter from the NVC on August 22. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	NOA 2	On July 26th my fiancee and I were approved for a K-1 visa from the USCIS.  An approval notice was mailed to me by US Mail on the same day. I called the USCIS and they said file a I-824 to get a duplicate notice set to me, but this form has a $405 dollar filing fee. The embassy has already received the case from the National Visa Center. I'm confused on what to do now. I don't want to pay $405 dollars to the USCIS for a duplicate approval form, especially since I paid them $340 dollars to get the process started already. Has anyone ran into this problem ? This is not right !!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	emergency advice -stolen bag at airport with visa packet	So went to our deferred inspection and was admitted on her K-1 finally - 90 days starting now.   When we went in they had a list of things that they were going to require and were going to give us a continuation on the probation to acquire them, but apparently 'bring everything' was good advice, as we were informed we had everything that was needed, then they stamped her passport for K1 (1 of 1 eligible visits) and told her she has her 90 days and we can get married.   Ultimately it appears it was reaffirming the information for USCIS and we move forward with them as far as we can tell with the standard AOS -> Citizenship path after we get married.   Embassy was done with us completely since she had already arrived in the states and she had been issued her visa.  Of note that the officer seemed to be pleased about was we had acquired a 'new original' of her medical records from Poland and a copy of the police record (saying she wasn't a criminal), so anyone in a similar situation do try to reacquire those.  They also had wanted the sponsor passport/birth certificate and g-325's and the evidence of ongoing relationship (helped that we were both present as well I assume.   Now on to the fun and important stuff in the process! Many calls to multiple agencies all saying to call the other agencies - we will just go to the meeting in August with copies of all the paper work we can.  The most help we got at the end was from CBP saying that paper is cheap, just bring a copy of everything, but they can't say what they will need, and they will be requesting documentation from the other agencies in the meantime.   In the mean time she is here and better to be going through it together than separate.   Will update as we have more. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	emergency advice -stolen bag at airport with visa packet	Long story short with more detail to come after we've spent some quality time~   She was given a 1 month parole visa and passport was surrendered.  We have until this time to get the appropriate paper work gathered and submitted.  They said lost/stolen/damaged/etc happens fairly frequently overall - it's still better to do it the 'right' way but they do have a contingency plan.  Don't rely on it, but it's there.   Thanks to everyone for the support, and we definitely took a chance but it paid off - as I get the details of what needs to be gathered and submitted I will add to the post.
