CaribbeanRegarding Cuban Translation

Re: Translations in Cuba

This might be common knowledge but I thought I would post this just in case:

http://www.esti.cu/

I was given information by the US Interest Section in Havana. It is for Cuban Nationals and payment in National Money so it is not expensive. No one should be surprised that it takes longer than you would hope. We have used this service twice.

CaribbeanCuba Cuba Cuba Interview Question

Hello. Surprisingly quick considering all of the waiting we have done. The case was completed at NVC on August 22nd 2014. Her appointment was scheduled on September 2, 2014. Her appointment date is October 6, 2014. As far as attending the interview we have been told yes and no. I plan to go and if I have to wait then I'll do that.

The list for places for the medical exam is here:

http://travel.state....xamination.html

From the drop down select HAV and download that pdf. He should go right away after receiving his appointment date. They tried to schedule my wife's medical for after the interview telling her it was no problem she would just need to go back to the US Interest Section when the medical results were in. Luckily she finally got an appointment.

She says the medical is a great place to eavesdrop and ask questions to get information. Probably some misinformation too! For example someone told her that going a half an hour before her appointment time would be fine. Someone else told her people go at five am because the officials start collecting ID's at six am.

Anyway best of luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI130 - I am confused - Transfer Notice?

Wow. That means if it does take 60 days my petitions would be at the USCIS for more than eight months! Isn't that longer than normal? Or is there a normal?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI130 - I am confused - Transfer Notice?

Hello - I received my NOA 1 at the beginning of July, 2013. I was out of the Country visiting my wife Dec. 16th. 2013 until Jan. 13, 2014. On the 27th of December I received and email from USCIS that said:

The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

There was a letter waiting for me when I returned that says:

This is to advise you that in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing:

              Texas Service Center, P. O. Box 851488 - Dept. A, Mesquite, TX 75185-1488

That office will notify you of the decision made on the application or petition.

My question is:

So, what does this mean? It sat in a pile for six full months and now it is sitting in another pile in Texas? When I look at the USCIS processing time information page here:

https://egov.uscis.g...TimesDisplay.do

It is a little unclear. By the way I filed two I130's. One for my wife and one for my stepchild. I have receive no RFE's and I followed all of the Visa Journey instructions putting the petitions together. Is it really possible that I will be waiting five more months before it even goes to the NVC?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy timeline

I just did some work on my timeline but I am wondering if it was done correctly. I sent my I-130's to the Phoenix lockbox and received my NOA 1's June 28th, 2013. Those came from USCIS - National Benefits Center - P.O. Box 25920 - Overland Park, KS 66225

Is the the National Benefits Center (MSC)? What is MSC?

Nothing happened until December 30th, 2013. That is when I received a notice (I-797C)  that the case was transferred to the Texas Service Center. That notice came from a different address in Lee's Summit, MO.

Is my time line correct the way it is filled out so far?

US Citizenship General Discussionn400 part h, oath requirements

As Harpa said - just say "yes".  It is a standard question.  Don't make it harder than it has to be.  If things got bad enough she could be asked to sew socks or bake cookies - all it is asking is would a person do their part if called to do so.

Actually it was a CR1 (I saw the error and corrected it) there was no expedite and the Petitioner lives in the USA.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsabout the I-130

While this is true in some cases, it isn't in all cases.  We filed my wife's I-130 May 21, 2013 - NOA 1 received May 29, 2013. The petition was approved in July 23, 2013 (55 days).  Her case was received at NVC August 5, 2013 where they assigned her MNL number, this week, and sent the bill for the Affidavit of Support. So while some cases are taking longer, not all are.  There are several posters on here that are relating similar timelines.
