IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresshould i get two nbi clearances? (one under my maiden name and another under my married name?)
I say the instruction is pretty self explanatory. Why do you think does the NBI clearance say "NO RECORD ON FILE" for a new married name when you already have a record from your old MAIDEN NAME? I say you need to have a NBI clearance for each of the names you have ever used in your life. I had my wife request 2 NBI clearances for her, 1 in her maiden name and one in her married name. I sent both NBI clearances to NVC last week so in case they decided they only need the one with the married them, then they can just throw the other one away. I wouldn't risk getting a RFE for a 150 peso piece of paper.

Hi! I was reading the required documents for visa applicants in this link: http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3217.html and under NBI clearance, it says...

"Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name, married name, and any aliases or nicknames ever used, including different spellings of all names ever used."

Does that mean I have to get two separate forms, one under my maiden name and another under my married name? It seems rather redundant...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPeople waiting for cr1 visa August interview in Philippines
I still plan to keep on calling at least once a week. I'll call again tomorrow and next wednesday before I leave for my flight to Manila. Worst case scenario for us now is that I'll just bring my wife back with me on a K3 visa and have her fly back to manila for the CR1 interview whenever that may be.

My husband just got off from the NVC representative named Shelly; she was extra nice & very patient explaining to my husband queries. Per her, the jurisdictions of scheduling CR1/IR1's interview that NVC is totally dependent to the USEM-MNL consulate because basically the consulate will be the one to give NVC the go signal based on dates from them. I am trying to analyze and realized the situation between K1/K3's against CR1/IR2's at USEM-MNL & hope I am wrong with this!

K1/K3 visas - paid the Non-immigrant visa to BPI amounting $131 per applicant & mode of payments are directed to USEM-MNL BPI Account, while CR1/IR1 Immigrant visa $400 were paid ahead of time & payments directly went to NVC, while papers/petitions are still on process. Meaning, does the Philippine Embassy prioritize this K1/K3 applicants in terms of interview scheduling (no offensement to K1/K3) since they paid the non-immigrants direct to their BPI ACCOUNT? Retrieving & gathering of money somehow for the consulates properties??? while CR1/IR1s is for NVC??? The point of my realization is: USEM-MNL will only give interview schedules to NVC specifically for CR1/IR1 once the said consulate done with all the scheduling of K1/K3??? Is this kind of a joke? If it is oohhh my goodness! Give me a fu-cking break!

By the way, until now we don't have an interview date and most likely we will fall on the September lists. mad.gif

Yea that makes alot of sense, if anything this is the way most people would go if there is fraud, you know just get a visa and not for real love,to come to USA becuse it is faster, and less questions etc... wacko.gif

If you notice in my signature I'm also a K3 petitioner and I don't believe the USEM in Manila is prioritizing K1/K3's in giving out interview schedules because they get paid locally. They schedule appointments before the applicants even pays for the visa application. Furthermore, where do you think the money the K1/K3's applicants pay goes? I'm sure they are transmitted back to the US.

And the fraud thing, I think it's not nice to say that. Me and my wife considered filing for a K1 before just for the benefit of getting her here quicker. So now if I actually filed for a K1 does that make our relationship a fraud? Of course not. I would say that they are people who wants to go to the US so bad that they will even consider marrying just for a green card. Fraud is everywhere, be it K1, K3, CR1 or even IR1.

I did think that also, maybe all the consulates income goes to the USA, as I stated before; it is only my analysis. Wouldn’t u think that each consulate may indeed have their own income bracket / quota which may be prioritized according to profitability? I also have several Pinay friends who filed for k1 & k3 just recently and got approvals posted here in VJ. Seems that for them it is very easy to have gotten an August 2008 Interview. One of my very personal friends was able to schedule her interview just today. Her k1 interview is set for the 4th of August. She got a NOA2 2 weeks ago. This is the reason for my confusion in being able to understand why Cr1 / Ir1 seem to have been left behind. So please understand our feelings of frustration and disappointment. At least you have the option to go for either the K3 or the CR1, so I would have to say that it seems ur on the advantage side of the visa process. About the fraud thing I don’t know anything about it; I only care for our case. Though with my sincere feelings I am happy for you that soon u’ll be reunited with your special someone. Good luck to the upcoming interview. good.gif All the best.

I don't blame you or anyone here for being frustrated seeing other people get approved first even though you filled before them. I felt the same way back in May when we weren't approved yet but there was this couple who filed in April and got approved 2 weeks after! That was like so unfair! Then I learned to accept that the visa process is really broken and most of the time just doesn't make sense. Anyway, I'm glad that we are almost at the end of this visa journey, but at this point our K3 visa application is almost pointless. Even after being approved for a K3 visa, we still have to wait for the CR1 since we have no way of adjusting my wife's status using the K3 visa since the CR1 is complete already. I sometimes think that it would have been better to just stick with the CR1 in the first place. The only advantage that we have now is the chance of having a CR1 visa interview on Jul 28 if the NVC can forward our application by next week.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Any new interviews assigned?
Your one very patient person, I would have run out of patience after waiting a month without an interview schedule. That means I'll run out of patience after 3 weeks! I already called twice, this afternoon being the latest, after our case got completed on July 2nd. I'd really like them to forward our application to Manila before my wife's K3 interview so that we can change to CR1.
