K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	How do I know if NVC received my case	Hey ya'll, I'm sure this has been asked here a couple of time, but I can't find it....again . Our Petition was approved on April 30th and we received the hardcopy on May 2nd. How do we know when the NVC received our case? Do I have to call or will they notify my fiance by E-Mail or will he get a letter? I saw the phonenumber in the guides and read, to call two weeks after approval. So that means that right now we are looking at a minimum 4 month waiting time for NOA2s from CSC right? and thats just the minimum! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but here it goes. The current average K1 processing time for California is 126 days. But you and I both filed at the end of July. This could possibly be the worst time to have applied in recent history because of the possible crush of pre 7/30 price increase petitions. VJ provides a projection of when you will receive your NOA2. This projection is found when you look at your timeline. The projection seems to be based on the average waiting time of recent approved petitions from your service center. You are currently projected to be approved on December 5th. VJ's projections are fairly accurate, but they are not rock solid and they are subject to change. The impact of the possible pre price increase spike in petitions has not been factored into the projections yet, because the projections are based on the waiting time of adjudicated petitions. If there really was a huge increase in petitions at the end of July, than late July and August filers may really have a long wait. On the other hand, if this spike in petitions turns out to be a myth, than there should be no impact. In any case, try to stay calm because this is going to take a while. Best of luck! Well, I am trying to be positive even though an NOA 1 sounds really good right now I am hoping that the government knew what would come when they raised the fees. Because there are very intelligent people working for the government (let's stay positive ) they of course hired a bunch of new people to work through our files!!! Anyway, my finance and I send the I-129F on July 28th to Nebraska where it was received on July 30th. That was the last time I heard from it Do you think it is too early to call them in California to ask what happened? It seems that people in this thread have gotten to know each other very well, so here is my story: I (from Germany) came to Minnesota, USA as an Aupair when I was 20 years old. After my year was almost over, my hostfamily asked me if I wanted to stay and they would pay for my college. I decided to do so and applied for my student visa in Germany. After 4 months, I decided that it was too much. I had to be a full time student to keep my visa but my hostmom still wanted me to work 50 hours a week for her 3 young children. I felt like I had no free time and I didn't have much patience left. So I told them that I would leave to go back to Germany in 4 months. 3 Weeks before I was suppose to leave, I took a trip to Maui, Hawaii with a friend of mine. We stayed at a youth hostel and during those 10 days, I fell in love with the tourguide. I had to leave to work 10 more days in Minnesota but after those 10 days I went back to Maui instead of Germany. My parents were shocked to say the least. The owner of the youth hostel had offered me to be his summer nanny and pay for the flight. So I figured even if it doesn't work out with this guy---there is still 3 months living on Maui. Well, it turned out that we were madly in love and still are to this day. It was funny. He was originally from Minnesota as well. We had only lived 20 minutes apart in Minnesota but had to meet in Hawaii. After the summer was over, we moved back to Minnesota and I started up school again to stay in the country. I finished my degree in December 2005 and worked for one year before I left the country. I wanted to find out if I really wanted to live in the US as I had gotten homesick before. Well, I stayed 5 months and I realized, I can't be without this man. The only problem was that he was still married to someone in Switzerland. They hadn't been together for 6 years but so far she didn't want to sign the paper. Finally during my last trip this summer, the divorce came finally through . So we have been together 4 years and I was hoping to get married on our 5 year anniversary in March on Maui. Well, after reading all your posts and not being able to receive my NOA1 yet, I hoping to get married at all next year. So right now, I am waiting while eating a lot of candy---because I am so frustrated. This is of course not good because I wanted to loose weight to find a nice dress. Well, I hope my new job in a health club will help me. I am also waiting for my sweetheart to come out and stay in Germany for a while. I am just trying to figure out how long he can stay and if he would be able to do an internship or something. Well, thanks for listening and good luck to everyone! DHL ships 20kg for 62€ to the US. not bad. i will probably pack one more box with books and that's it! i will have my medical in frankfurt on friday yai - yai! abt JFK: here's the deal: i called several airlines, and it is crazy expensive to redirect a regular flight (for example with british airways, lufthansa or delta or united) via JFK. here are the numbers: STR-TUS: € 700 STR-JFK-TUS: € 2000 STR-JFK: € 500 + JFK-TUS: 250€ = € 750 The sales-lady from lufthansa told me that the easiest way would be to buy 2 seperate tickets. 1) Germany --> JFK 2) JFK --> Arizona That means that I will have to recheck-in my bags and stuff, and that i will have to pay overluggage for the second flight, as it will be a national flight with only ONE bag allowed, but even that will be €1000 cheaper!!!! CRAZYNESS!!!! now i understand why so many people don't fly via JFK. But for me, it seems worth it. even if one gets married right away, it will take 3 months to get the stupid EAD papers. with the stamp in the passport and a justice-of-the-peace-wedding the day after arrival, one should be able to work right away. we just really can't afford to live on one sallary for 3 months, plus the cost for moving and the AOS. plus: i want to be able to be active, to earn my own money, and to meet people! hope things work out the way we plan....	tucson_chick	Female	Germany	2008-01-13 12:23:00
