National Visa Center (Dept of State)Any way to check case after receiving case no. from NVC?
I just wonder if there is any chance that I can track my case online after receiving the new case no. from the NVC?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)which documents in original are reqired after NOA2?

You should be okay. The rest of the evidence to support prior meeting and genuine engagement (letters, emails, phone records) can just be copies or printed online.

thank you for the information!!! (F)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)which documents in original are reqired after NOA2?
We got our NOA2 september 27th and the NVC received our case last week.
So not sure how much longer it will take until they forward the case to the embassy but can anyone tell me which documents in "original" are required?
The only documents that my fiance sent to me in original was I-134 (notarized) all the other documents are copies.
Did you miss out anything?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Case at Frankfurt Embassy today
We received the email notification on 18th october that NVC received our case.
Another email notification on 24th october gives us the information that our case left to the embassy recently.
According to the dhl.com webpage there has been only 2 mails left between these two days.
So my consumption is now that one of these mails is our package which arrived at the Embassy this
morning!!
So can anyone give me the information if there are any more reviews before they are going to send
out the package 3 or how long the Embassy will need to send out the package3?

Thank you!!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Average NVC waiting time????

cubanlovestory

Have a read of some of the threads in the NVC forum on administrative processing/review at NVC. It is a normal process of NVC, but the time it takes varies. I hope your wait is not too long.

The beneficiary is from Cuba. I wasn't even aware Cubans could immigrate to the US. Wouldn't there be a long security clearance check for people immigrating from Cuba?

Yes there is immigration to the US for Cubans http://havana.usinte...immigrants.html
And no, not necessarily longer in AP. I have seen members where this whole process has gone just as fast as for anyone else even though to my knowledge Cuba is one of the T7 countries.

You should not worry too much. First I thought it will take long too when I got the notice that they receive our case (after almost 3 weeks) and within 1 week they forwarded it to the embassy.
So hang in there!!!! Things will work out!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Who received their NVC Letter this month (October)?

Hi guys! We just received our NVC Letter yesterday, October 18 but before we even received the letter, we already called NVC and was told that our case was already sent to the Manila USE last Oct. 12. I tried calling the USE in Manila but I couldnt get hold of anyone so Im not sure if its already there.
Anyways, anyone here who received their NVC Letter this month? When do you think our schedule for interviews will be? I hope it will be in January. ..

We received our email notification that NVC received our case already and we got issued a new case number. But in the email nothing is mentioned about the case has been sent to the embassy. So I guess that
it is still at NVC at the moment (which can take according to the email 2-4 weeks).

it's peppermint tea if you don't mind.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBefore sending off the I-130 ....

This is DIRECTLY from the I-130 instructions:

7. What Documents Do You Need to Prove a Family Relationship?

You have to prove that there is a family relationship betweenyou and your relative. If you are filing for:

A. A husband or wife, submit the following documentation:

1)A copy of your marriage certificate.

2) If either you or your spouse were previously marriedsubmit copies of documents showing that all priormarriages were legally terminated.

3) A passport-style color photo of yourself and apassport-style color photo of your husband or wife, taken within 30 days of the date of this petition. Thephotos must have a white background and be glossyunretouched and not mounted. The dimensions of thefull frontal facial image should be about 1 inch fromthe chin to top of the hair. Using pencil or felt pen, lightly print the name (and Alien Registration Number,if known) on the back of each photograph.

4) A completed and signed Form G-325A, BiographicInformation, for you and a Form G-325A for yourhusband or wife. Except for your name and signatureyou do not have to repeat on the Form G-325A theinformation given on your Form I-130 petition.

NOTE: In addition to the required documentation listed in 1)through 4) above, you should submit one or more of thefollowing types of documentation that may evidence that bonafides of your marriage:
1) Documentation showing joint ownership or property; or

4) Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, thepetitioner, and your spouse together; or

5) Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person makingthe affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and detailsexplaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage); or

6) Any other relevant documentation to establish that thereis an ongoing marital union.

twincactus,

if I understood correctly she was talking about the bolded part above, not about the marriage certificate.

So yes, Henia, you have to submit the documents listed under points 1 to 4 above and should submit one or more of the things listed at the bottom list... if you think it makes your case stronger.

Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionConsulate and Interview Question

Hey Everyone!

So my fiance and I have been living in the UK for the past year. He's Australian and I'm the USC. We've already sent out our I-129F but I had a quick question about the interview. On all of the forms we put that he'd have the interview here in London -cause this is his place of residence and has been for the last year. But, since he's Australian does this matter?

Also, just curious, what exactly does it mean when people say they are getting their conditions removed? I assume that you have to prove you are in an authentic marriage after you finally get married, but what does this mean?

Thanks!
Marina

Hi Marina,

after getting married in the US on your K1 visa you'll go through the AOS process to receive your conditional greencard (2 year- gc). 90 days before the conditional green card expires, you can file for removal of conditions, after that you'll be getting the unconditional (10-yr) greencard.
Correct me if I'm mistaken here.

Sorry, I'm not sure about your first question, but if I remember correctly, there was a UK- citizen living in Germany who went through the K1 process and had her interview in the Frankfurt embassy... not sure about that!

Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPaperwork "overstay"
It has happened to me too, from my visit to the US from Aug of 2005.

I only noticed the I-94 was still in my passport when I started my (DCF-) process in Germany, about a year later.

I found a list of things to send in to proof that you have left the country (don't have the link anymore, but will go through the list quickly):

- boarding pass
- copies of passport showing stamps from immigrating other countries since
- photocopies of other evidence such as:

- paystubs from work in homecountry to show that you have worked after leaving the US
- detailed bank account information showing that you have been outside the US
- credit card bills showing the use of the card in countries other than the US
- additional proof (from universites/school/landlord...)

send all this to

ACS - USCIS, SBU
P.O Box 7125
London, KY 40742-7125
USA

I did all this, never heard back from them and it never came up during the process.

Will be fine! Especially since he has entered the US since.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFirst name changed--problems?
I'd imagine you might want to prepare an affidavid from your mum stating that he was born "Mark" and then lived as Gary all his life.

I think that's what is done if (for example) the birth has never been registered and there is no birth certificate...

The one thing I don't get is- how did he get a passport (or any kind of official ID) in a name that's not on the bc?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAnyone else?
You might want to try the German- thread here in the forum

http://www.visajourn...hp?showtopic=35

- most of the girls there have gone the K1 route and there are tons of interview- reviews..

From my own experience (different visa type though): I always found everyone in Frankfurt very helpful and patient, they usually took away my nervosity within a couple of minutes...

Good luck!

Just wondering if anyone else will be going to Frankfurt for an interview on Friday, February 2. I'm getting really nervous!

I have done a search on questions that are asked during the interview but couldn't find anything. Can you guys tell me what kind of questions they ask in general? I just wanna be prepared. I suck at job interviews when I'm hit with questions I never really thought about, and I definitely don't wanna mess this up.

Thanks!

Sandra

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-864 for Sponsor not living in U.S.
Since you have only been a USC for the last months and have not been a LPR before, the tax problem shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Have you tried to call or email the embassy and ask them?

What I guess might be even more important for your situation as it is right now is to establish domicile in the US, which includes a lot of different things: having bank accounts/credit cards, a mailing address (we used my husbands parents address for that purpose because he lived in Germany with me), owning a vehicle, a life insurance in the US...

Good luck!

Here's what I've found about domicile on an US embassy site (http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3207.html):

If the petitioner travels to the United States and sets up a principal residence, where he or she intends to reside, he or she may then qualify to petition an immigrant. Establishing a principal residence would entail obtaining an address (a house, apartment, etc.) and taking up physical residence. There is no minimum time to establish residence, but a credible demonstration of an actual residence in the United States is required. If the officer is convinced that the petitioner has in fact taken up residence in the U.S., the applicant will then be able to receive his/her immigrant visa. A convincing combination of several of the following types of action might be considered as an indication of U.S. domicile:

Establishing an address in the United States
Setting up a bank account and transferring funds to the U.S.
Making investments
Seeking employment
Applying for a Social Security number
Voting in local, state or federal elections

Hello

I e-mailed the DS3032 as a PDF file to the NVC - I had no problem.

The NVC's e-mail address is nvcinquiry@state.gov

In order to ensure a prompt response:
- Enter your case number in the Subject Line of the e-mail.
- Include the applicant's name and date of birth, and the petitioner's name and date of birth in the body of the e-mail.
- If the petition is employment-based, include the company/organization name.
- Ask about only one case per e-mail.

The NVC received your case on Sep. 1st - right!?
We have Sep. 10th now. This is less than 2 weeks and they had a public holiday last Monday. Plus Sep. 5 and 6 was a weekend. So they had only 7 workdays to process your case.

its been long time since the old gang were talking , so that is the steps first on the airplane you will file form called i-94 which is your visa data plus the flight # its easy , then you will get out of the plane depend on your POE mine was JFK it is so easy and they are so friendly , you will follow the signs till you get to the boarder officers counters they are like 12 or 13 depends on how many flights landed so will give him/her your passport will ask you the purpose of the visiting and asking for your envelope will open it then will ask you to get your fingerprint done and eyes too then will follow him to the home land security office then asking you will gonna be in the address (DUH) yes for sure no where else l`d like to be anyways will do one finger fingerprint again and sign another form , then go get you bags if its in JFK and have another connecting flight , will go through another bags security check and when finish will go to another one which will takes every piece of metal out even your shoes whistling.gif then that is it the searching part for your connecting flight gate will start and don not forget to check with your flight operator first because i got wrong gate in ticket and had to get the right one GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A SAFE FLIGHT good.gif
