US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDo I need a police cert?

Hey all,

I spent almost a year studying in Australia. And fact is, I was there for about 5 months, flew back home for term break, and then went back to Australia for about 5 more months before returning home for good. That means in total I've spent about 10 months in Australia, though not continously. Do I still need a police cert from Australia?

And if I do, can I obtain it before my packet 3 arrives? Thank you all! :D

You better apply now for the police certificate........you better safe than sorry

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAnyone tried calling the Frankfurt USCIS recently?

So I just tried (again) to call the USCIS in Frankfurt: 069 7535 2233. I get an automated message as I always have, but now there's no offer to forward you to a rep or voice mail, it merely ends saying "we can't answer questions on the phone, write an e-mail." Am I calling the write number? Have they changed their policy?

And are people getting answers via e-mail? I e-mailed three weeks ago and haven't heard a peep...

Walter

Hi Walter,
It is the right number for sure...just a joke, maybe the guy that answers the phone got fired after what happened with my husband  . And from 4 emails we sent they answered only one.
What a story we have with USCIS Frankfurt. My husband just kept calling and calling a few hours. Every time it looked like somebody answers the phone and then hang up. That was 2 days ago. The person on the phone couldn't help too much so he told my husband to call the next day (yesterday). My husband called yesterday and the same person from USCIS got very rude, not giving any helpful information why it takes so long. But my husband succeeded to get transfered to the officer in charge with our case (very nice lady) and she said our case was approved. She apologized it takes so long, they are only 3 officers that work to the cases. Our petition approved is next to another 100 approved petitions that will be transfered to the Visa Section hopefully today.
I hope my answer helps you, I know it is hard not to know what happens.
Just a tip, if you get a human on the phone do not let yourself foul with his answer "we still waiting for I files from the States", put him to check in to the computer and you will have a surprise ;) .
Have a nice day,
Adriana

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow long is the police background check good?
I do not think they are going to do 2 background checks to the same petition. Contact the Consulate and the USCIS about your issue.
All the best.

Asia: East and PacificHelmets now required in Vietnam.
I have been to Vietnam twice and during that time I have seen so many motorcycle accidents with deadly injuries.....I think it is a good idea that they make it the law now. It does not matter if you drive slower than anywhere else, you have to consider the road conditions and also the protection of the clothes....you know most of the people where the regular "thin" pants and shirts...so hardly any protection.

on which base did you adjust your status? Trough marriage?
If so, you need you passport, your ticket, your greencard and your marriage certificate (in case your passport is still in your maiden name, while your greencard is in your married name)

Asia: East and PacificPrenuptial agreement - anyone else do one?
QUOTE (chuckandkim @ Aug 30 2007, 06:32 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Don't lose the topic here is about Ding who wants to get married a Thai who lies and needs his forgiveness to come to America while Ding still maintains his wealth and riches by having a prenuptial agreement with this Thai woman!

Seem to me Ding has a little bit twisted reason and motive to marry. Making her feeling sorry, feeling as if she owes you for your grace and mercy because you have forgiven her for whatever she did to offend you, is NOT a good strong foundation to build your future upon. I do not know and will never do what she has done to disgrace you and to deserve this treatment and the mentality behind it!

To HappyOne,
Third world or first world, people are @$$holes, lie, cheat regardless of their social, demographical, geographical and economical background IF they are @$$HOLE by nature. There are a lot more @$$HOLES in 1st world than anywhere else! But you learn to accept them as a norm for they are everywhere... Ask your S.O. about lies and @$$holes in Germany, I am pretty sure there plenty of those over there too. However, I choose to focus on the goods and drill into it. I find goodness in the bad in people, and fight it out until they absolutely proven to me they are certifiable @$$, then it's their loss not mine to continue the path.
Bottomline is, thirdworld or not, being-an-@$$ is not only reserved for any particular group, people, ethnic background or part of the world. They are everywhere people!

I do not want distinguish between poor country or rich country. It is just upsetting me how Ding is talking about his wife and her fellowmen.
If he got a problem with these people that are "so called" lier and cheaters....then he should not get marry to her!
I am myself asian and get here to the US. And trust me, I got that view all the time when it comes to the question: Where are you from?
My answer will be Germany because I am from Germany but people automatic assume that oriental people have to get marry to get to the US.
As if the US is the only wonderful country!
I just feel sorry for Dings wife that he got such a point of view!

Asia: East and PacificPrenuptial agreement - anyone else do one?
This is a real hot topic!! I personally do not understand how a person can get marry to someone that he does not trust. Of course he say that he loves her but is this the only thing?? Think about that deeper. Why would a man go to the 3rd countries to find a wife?? It is just because modern women are not as easy to control. So the question here is should the woman not be more worried than the man? The woman is giving up her entire life to be with the man she loves and sorry for this expression but it sounds like she is treated like a piece of #######. She does not give up her life to be someones slave!!! Most of the cases I have read about where the "Thai" women are using their husband to get to the US....I have to say that the man is stupid enough to fall for that because if you would take your time to get to know the person better (and not decide to get marry so fast) than you do not have to worry that she is using you!
Of course the man got a reason to worry about this issue because reality is that there are that kind of person out there that uses the man but the man can control the situation!!

No offens to anybody....just my 2 cents!

are they allowed to ask for your email password? I am pretty sure this was not legal.
I would suggest you to get a lawyer as well. Of course "normal" people would understand that real couple fight and get mad at each other and I am pretty sure you
won't be able to convince them.

Find a good lawyer!!! Good luck!
