US Citizenship General DiscussionIs my son a naturalized citizen?
Hello,

My wife was born in Japan. Her father was a US citizen living in japan at the time but not part of the armed services. My wife was registered as an American born abroad and received a US passport. Her father had satisfied the timing requirements for how long he had spent in the US etc so she was eligible to be considered. she is regarded as a US citizen at birth, not a naturalized citizen.

Hope this helps,

Dave

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAnyone filed in Los Angeles recently?
I am confused. Looking at the CSC processing time information page it says they are only processing 751 forms received back in august. anyone know why that says one thing but people are seeing it faster (which is not a bad thing)

CSC is pretty fast. Check our time line below. Good luck.

12/18/2006 Sent I-751 to CSC with $275 enclosed
12/23/2006 CIS returned the app with note that fee was only $205
12/26/2006 Sent I-751 again with $205 enclosed
01/10/2007 NOA with 1 year extension
01/11/2007 Received notice of biometric appointment
01/23/2007 Biometrics taken
02/24/2007 Email from CIS that card production has been ordered
03/01/2007 Green Card arrived in the mail.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionLetters from friends
Hello all,

Thanks for the great replies. My main reason for avoiding the notarization is the inconvenience it causes my friends and families. It is easy to get them to sign, not as easy to have them take time out of their busy days to find a notary public (although none have refused). I have a lot of other evidence so I will just send them as is.

Thanks again,

Dave

OK, but section 7.8.1 of the FAQ says it does not need to be notarized. I am confused.

http://www.visajourn...conditions.html

Should be notarized, to prove that your friends signed them.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionLetters from friends
Hello,

The I-751 instructions state the following

Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people who have known both of you since your conditional residence was granted and have personal knowledge of your marriage and relationship. .....

Does this mean it needs to be notarized or not? I cannot make it out. I see others have had it notarized.

Thanks,

Dave

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionE-Mail notification
OK, so basically I cannot do it until I get the actual approval (NOA). Now I understand. Thanks.

You need to sign up for notification on USCIS site using your petition number listed on the NOA1 document.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionE-Mail notification
Hello all,

I have noticed a lot of people referring to receiving e-mails regarding their applications. However, the I-751 form does not have a place for me to enter my e-mail address. How are people registering theirs?

Thanks,

Dave

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionExpress Mail & Return receipt
Hello all,

I saw someone in an earlier thread asking about sending return receipts etc. I want to let people know I sent my package to the CSC in Laguna Nigel via express mail and included a return receipt. It got delivered this morning and CSC signed for it no problem so there does not seem to be an issue.

Hope this helps. I will post my time-line once the check gets cashed etc.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1- Which consulate in our case?
While my case was at NVC we requested it to be transferred from the USEM in Manila Phils. to USC Frankfurt Germany. So yes, you can have it transferred. You should email or write USCIS requesting transfer. :-)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUS Consulate Sydney doesn't respond to email
Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone here has any current experiences regarding processing times for emails.

My 90 day window for Removal of Conditions opens up mid of June.
4 weeks ago I contacted the embassy to set up an appointment for Fingerprints. One week later I received a response that I need to contact USCIS in BANKOK???!! I wrote them back that I believe they misread my email. We are stationed overseas and according to the instructions for ROC I can take finger prints at an US Embassy. Since then I have not heard back from them.

My husband has sent them an email as well 10 days ago and hasn't gotten a reply.

Is this normal for Sydney Consulate to wait this long for an answer??
I'm getting a little nervous now....

Thanks heaps!!

Or do I have to go to the usembassy to get that done? Do I need a from to fill out from the embassy for my medical exam or could I just scedule an appointment now? How long does this take until I get my K-1 visa?
Can somebody please help me? The us embassy never picks up their phones and I really need to know!

US Citizenship General DiscussionDual citizenship american german
Hey everyone!

I got alot of question. I googled some stuff already but it seems that on every website they say something else.

So i want to get the dual citizenship. My father is an American and my mom is German. They never got married. My mother married an american few years later. He also adopted me. I was born and raised in Germany.
I read that i should get the dual citizenship with no problems.
But how do i get started? I know this sounds dumb.
Do i call the embassy or the federal foreign office?

If someone could help me please

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWE HAD INTERVIEW

AND WELL IT DID NOT WORK OUT AS PLANNED :(

I THOUGHT I HAD EVERYTHING READY AND SENT IT ALL TO HER
I GUESS I THOUGHT I READ QUITE WELL, BUT I MUST NOT HAVE
THEY TOLD HER THAT I HAVE TO SEND MY TAX RETURNS FOR 2005 AND 2006
:(
I HAD A LETTER FROM MY WORK, A LETTER FROM THE BANK, THE WHOLE YEAR WORTH OF DEPOSITS
ALL,

THEY DID NOT KEEP HER PASSPORT, THEY DID NOT TELL HER IF SHE HAS BEEN APPROVED. THEY JUST GAVE HER AN ADDRESS WHERE I HAVE TO SEND DHL THE TAX FORMS.

I THOUGHT THEY WOULD HAVE KEPT HER PASSPORT TO GIVE TO HER ONCE MY DOCUMENTS ARRIVED? I DIDNT THINK WITH ALL THAT EVIDENCE THAT I NEEDED MY TAX RESORTS. AM I THINKING WRONG?
:( :( :(

It doesn't mean that she was denied, her interview it was moved for somewhere in the future when they have all the documents they asked for. Everything will be alright, just have a little bit more patience. Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMixed Blessin- Interview date too soon!
I really do not know how the Embassy in Turkey works, but usually, when you reschedule an appointment you have to wait a lot for a new interview date.
You should try to call the Embassy and ask them what happens if you want to reschedule the interview, what is the earliest appointment you can get.
Good luck....and Congrats
