US Embassy and Consulate Discussionno original birth certificate

Hi,
just asked at the civil registry office if I can get an international certificate with the notarized certificate (Birth Certificate replacement). They cannot issue an international certificate for me since I was not born in Germany! (buhuhuhuhu :crying: ) On more problem now!

Hi Happy One,

Hello Milka,

maybe it is easier if I write this part in german.

thanks a lot for the information.
I myself tried to contact the embassy here in germany but there is no email adress so that I can send an email. You only got the chance to listen to a machine that is not really giving you the information you need.
I myself thought it should be ok because it worked for getting the german citizenship so why should it not work for the visa. But now I am a little bit worry that I might take it too easy!

I got a question and I am not sure if somebody else is in the same situtation.
My parents were "Boat People" back in 1979 when they left Vietnam. I was born on the way to Germany when we stopped in Indonesia. Because of that I do not have an original birth certificate.
Here in Germany I got an notarized certificate that proves my birthday.
It worked out when we applied for the german citizenship but now I am concerned that the us embassy
won't accept it as a birth certificate.
It is absolutely impossible to get an original birth certificate. What should I do? :crying:

US Citizenship General DiscussionLiving in Germany applying for USCitizenship

Hello everyone,

I am German Citizen living with my Husband who is in the USmilitary, we are married since 4years, got married in germany and never lived together in the states.

Now i wanted to file first for a green card, cause you know how the military is sometimes it's you gotta go NOW back to the States, anyway i filed for the green card got all the paperwork done until the medical part and the interview part, cause they embassy wanted to have us leave to the states right after the medical and interview part , but unfortunate that suddendly never happend anymore, so everything got on hold.

Now my husband and i talked about me getting the USCitizenship, i worked for the US here in germany as an LN and want to have a goverment job in the states as well, maybe considering applying for an police officer job , anyway i can't file for the US until we leave that is ok, but now i'm a little bit confused, cause people here in the forum say you need to be 3 years married in the STATES, perm.residence, well but we are stationed in germany for another 2years, does that mean i'm ending up beeing almost 6years married and can't file for an USCitizenship because we are not in the states because the Army???? Can i apply for goverment jobs or as an police officer just with a green card???

i'm a little bit worried about my future career, so if somebody may know somthing about living overseas,Germany, with USCitizenship spouse since almost 4years married, applying for a USCitizenship, without ever having perm.residence in the states together!!!
I need HELP and every help is highly appreciated, thanks for your time
manuela

P.S. the embassy told me here, before we leave i need to have a purpose for applying as USCitizenship, so in my case that would be wanting to work for the goverment and there jobs require USCit., does that mean the embassy gives me wrong information???

Hallo Manuela,

US Citizenship General DiscussionNaturalization of Military Spouse
QUOTE (jodee @ Oct 24 2007, 04:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
QUOTE (GoBruins! @ Oct 24 2007, 07:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Expeditious naturalization for PR/CPR spouses applies when your husband receives his official orders to move to a foreign base. You have to be included on his orders. The application is usually lodged after the orders are received and before departure overseas, but NO EARLIER THAN 90 days before the intended departure date. For example, if your scheduled to depart on Dec. 1 to your husband's foreign base, you would have to have filed the N-400 application on or after Sept. 1 while you are still in the US.

For those of you who are already overseas, you can still file N-400 in the Service Center that has jurisdiction over your Home State. However, your Active Duty Spouse's foreign assignment should be at least 12 months on his current overseas base. The N-400 for military spouses cannot be adjudicated overseas, so be prepared to fly back to the US for the interview and oath.

Good Luck!

Thats basically what I said and have said everytime that question is asked in this forum. It has been asked on more than one occasion. Except I said you must go back stateside to lodge it,..But the point is, it must be lodged with the relevant stateside service centre associated with your resident state, whether you mail it there or you mail it while your stateside and you do indeed need to go back stateside for interview and oath.

I think the people just dont like the answer they are hearing , and dont want to do the research themselves, and would rather have other people do it, hoping that the answer that they want is going to pop up.

I even went so far to find the ruling in the INA laws and guidelines once, but that was taken with a grain of salt.

Sorry that you might get the impression that I or some others are not taking your information for right. I am really thankful for that but since I know that rules changes quite often and in my situation there is another application (to keep my current citizenship) necessary I need to double check to make sure not for wasting the money on that if I cannot apply for the US Citizenship.

I thank you all soooo much for all your inputs on this topic. Each single one is a big help for me!
