Hi dear VJ Folks,

I have been so busy lately getting ready for the big jump from Oz to the USA that I haven't really had a chance to come in here and say hello or read how people are going or even to say thank you...so....

A HEART FELT THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU :luv: who have offered support, shared your lives and experiences, cracked a joke or vented or asked dumb questions (that I wanted to know the answer of too!!) and got hammered for it! For those who moderate this website and keep it ticking over like a well oiled machine...thank you. What an amazing and diverse virtual community. We are very lucky to have it!

Tomorrow I fly out and the next time I come on here it will be from the USA having started my big adventure just like so many of you. :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsin the 3rd week of waiting for NVC

Just a quick update:

After calling and calling and calling for about 30 minutes last night after getting out, I finally was able to speak with someone at NVC who confirmed that our case had been received and assigned a case number.

Looks like they were stacking the petitions in a box for a couple of months to send out in bulk. Hope to read good news soon from others who've been waiting.

- John

Glad to hear NVC got your case number. So the packge 3 should be with you soon!!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionstillbirth certficate

Hi,
I am gathering my I-751 package and I would like your opinion whether to include a stillbirth certificate or not. Is it acceptable as evidence?

Thanks for your advice.

I am sorry to say, but I would add it.
A very dear friend of mine lost her child of SID at 2 months old, and they had sent in her Birth Certificate with their CR1 application.
When they didn't mention anything about the child in their ROC application, they got an RFE.

I HATE these processes. it is absolutely humiliating.

I’m sorry to see that you guys are still waiting for approval… hopefully it is not going to take longer. Hang in there fellow May filers. Fingers crossed for all you

it ticks me off so badly, that a friend of mine, who filed 2 weeks after I did, got her GC 4 weeks ago.
So I called the misinformation hotline again, and the same answer: "you are in the marriage fraud database and you should hear from us within 6 months"

Thanks for nothing.

Hi there!
Happy news: received my bio note, for august 24th!
So happy!

I guess it is that far back because of all of the immigration stuff going on here in arizona.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMay 2010 I-751 filers

Something seems to be wrong. I wonder if the huge 2007 group is moving through the system now and we will see delays this year from the filers who were beating the fee increases.....

When I called the misinformation line 2 weeks ago, they told me to expect the biometrics letter around the end of July.
This is soooo frustrating!!!!!!!!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMay 2010 I-751 filers
I called them last week and they told me to not expect the biometrics note until the end of July and that the total timeframe until approval will be 6 months or longer.

She mentioned that all cases of people who apply for removal of conditions are being entered into the "Marriage Fraud Database" and undergo extra thorough checks.

*sigh*

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI 751 RFE
It drives me absolutely INSANE and up the wall that if you don't have a kid or a house after two years of marriage, they will send you a RFE.
I already know that the same thing will happen to us. If it does, I will send them the bill for our fertility treatments to shut them UP.

RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTravel after NOA1
Hi everyone,

My Greencard will expire on Dec. 21st and I have filed for removal of conditions in September, got my biometrics appointment today.

However, we'll be travelling for Christmas and will be out of the country until the 27th of December, when my GC will already be expired. I know that the NOA1 extends the GC for one year, but my question now is: do I need another stamp in my passport or is it sufficient to bring the NOA1 along on the trip?

Does anyone have experience with re-entering the country with a NOA1?

Thanks,

sophyie

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAffidavits Attesting to Our Relationship and Marriage
Hi guys!
I had a quick question on the petition to remove condition of status (I-751):
Can family members be affidavits attesting to our relationship and marriage? Do they need to go to a notary and get a signature and seal?
Thanks,
Tobias

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionsubmitted I-751: how long until green card comes in?
Hi Everyone!
I am living in California and submitted my I-751 not long ago. I received a letter saying that my green card got extended for one year and a few weeks later an appointment for biometrics. How long after the biometrics appointment should I expect my green card extension?

Thanks,

Adam

Right, I was just wondering if there are instances were it may cause some problems if you travel on that status

Does anyone has some experience with this?

Thanks,

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI -797, Notice of Action
Hi guys,

I sent out my I-751 in the beginning of August. I already received my I-797, Notice of Action (I-751 Receipt Notice), which states that my green card got extended for a period of one year.
I also had my biometrics appointment in the end of August. Now I am just waiting until my new green card arrives. Based on the average waiting time in California which is 6 months, I am assuming that it will come in the beginning of February.
I want to go back to Germany over the Christmas holidays for 2 weeks. Should I accept any problems reentering the US since my new green card hasn't came in? I am assuming not, but just wanted to double check.
I was planning to take my passport, my I-797 and my expired Green Card in order to reenter the US. Should I take anything else with me? Employment letter maybe?

Thanks,

Adam

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNewest Report: California Processing Time
The new processing time report for the California Service Center came out recently.
However, the form does not mention the processing time for the I-751 documents. All the older monthly reports did. Does anyone know why?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTwo different WAC numbers????
Hi Everyone,
I am in the process of removing the conditions of residency. I filled the papers back in August 2012, got a letter with an ASC Appointment Notice for biometrics (Form I-797C), went to my biometrics appointment, and I got also my I-751 receipt notice (Form I-797) and knew that I will have to wait 6 + months until my new Green Card will arrive. Today, for the first time I wanted to check my status online and notice something weird. Apparently, I have two WAC numbers!?!

Form I-797C:
This is the document with the ASC Appointment notice, that tells you that you have to go in for biometrics. The form has an “Application Number”: WAC + ten numbers. If typed in on the uscis.gov to check your status, it tells me that” On August 6, 2012, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. “

Form-797:
I received the I-797 stating that my conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year. This letter has a “Receipt Number”: WAC + ten numbers (these numbers differ from the I-797C form mentioned above).
If typed in on the uscis.gov to check your status, it tells me that my case ”can not be found at this time in My Case Status.”
My reference number/USCIS A# is the same on both forms.
Does anyone else have two different WAC number?
In order to check you status online which number on what form do you use? I-797 or I-797C?
Thanks,
Adam

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNeed help Removing Conditions on Residency

Thanks you so much for your help...I truly Appreciated.

I think a few people have suggested good alternatives. I would probably seek the help of an experienced attorney in this case - but I was wondering, if your trip outside of the US is very important - then, once you file either a new AOS or 751.. maybe you can see if you can get a temporary stamp of evidence of residency. (They usually do it, once your papers are all filed & your GC crosses the one year extension, your new GC is not yet here - but only for emergency conditions!) Just a thought as this stamp may give you some time to travel, and get back! Hope this helps! Good luck - please let us all know what you ended up doing... so we know for the future. :)
