I-797, Notice of Action. Approval Notice

I am reading the first paragraph of this letter and it states, "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would like to forward the petition to a different consulate..."

I am assuming the Petition is going to the NVC first, correct?

I do not see the consulate listed on the document?

There is a Beneficiary number on Notice, Axxx xxx xxx, what is this used for?

yes, it goes to NVC first. You will get another letter from NVC telling which cosulate exactly.
The A**** number (is the Alien no.) you will need for the Adjustment of Status later on (if you do not have a SSN at the time of the application)

usually package 3 contains a form that asks you when you are intending to leave to the US. Usually they they try to get you an interview date that you can leave the date you intented to....of course only if they got interview apointments available.

Hi guys!

I have one question for those who know:
What exactly happens after NOA2? I read somewhere, that a fee-bill is being sent from the NVC to the USC. What exactly needs the USC to do then? helpsmilie.gif
I ask because my fiance, the USC, will be working in Germany from Nov-Jan kicking.gif , and he will thus need to bring all the documents that I will need for the interview, with him.

If the NVC requires some mailing back-and-forth and paying bills, he will need to forward his mail to Germany, and arrange for that.

as mox says though, a lot depends on how you're travelling... there are no guarantees for ANYONE, but if you're from a country on the Visa Waiver Program you seem to have a lot more chance (though that said, you also TAKE the chance, of buying a ticket and setting out just on spec, and maybe being turned away at the border and made to fly home again... at least if you have to get a tourist visa, you know in advance whether you're likely to be successful or not)



i went to visit Eric for 6 weeks right after our NOA1.
they didn't ask ONE single question. POE was philly.
maybe we were just lucky, but for me it was the 2nd visit that year.

i had to wait for 4h and the actual interview was ..... 3mins.
the embassy in frankfurt is aparently facing technical problems with the visa stickers, and it takes them longer then usual to issue the visa. but they allow you to pick up the visa in person as soon as its ready, so there will be another trip to the embassy next week.
flight is booked for the 8th. smile.gif



i keep my fingers crossed for everybody still waiting for they NOA2 or the NVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know, here on VJ there are people telling us that we will get declined if we do non-legal ceremonies, that we will get turned down at the POE for sure, and all kinds of stuff. and there are only a few people on the german board, so maybe they are just biased.

thank you.... at the moment i'm worrying about the visa-fee. the embassy sent me with pack 3 a yellow small piece of paper with information about how to send the fee. well, there was still the old fee on it, and second, somebody changed the fee twice with a pen, probably due to changing exchange rates. the piece of paper said, that i should wire the money to a bank account. the other germans on a german board keep saying that i should have sent the money via roskos & meier, a online money transfer organization that is specialized in visa fees, and that i will get into trouble tomorrow. well, my package 4 mentioned them, but said: you can pay either way.
now i'm wondering if those are just people who have to tell everybody that they know everything (better) even though they know only as much as i do, and they tell me the way it worked for them (2 years ago), or if i really screwed up.

oh, jeraly, when will you be leaving for the US in february?

when i was in frankfurt for the medical i caved in and bought myself a new sweater, even though i had promised to myself to not buy anything that i have to ship...... oh, and i bought new earrings. but they are tiny, so i only feel bad about the money and not about the weight.....

wish i could call the airline and say: if i sign a contract that i will lose 10 pounds until the day of my flight, will i then be allowed to take additional 10 pounds of clothes and books with me?????????????

THE VACCINATIONS ARE NOT PART OF THE FEE!!!
if you don't have them at the date of the medical, you have to go back home, get the shots from your general doc at home, and send your vaccination-pass-thingy to the medical-office in franfurt.
the fee covers the blood works, peeing test and xrays and the other stuff.
fee is between 125 and 200€. varies if you go in frankfurt, hamburg or munich.

hi guys!

I'm back from my medical.
it took 4h total (most of the time waiting in between bloodwork, peeing test, xrays...).
so now i'm freaking out if my bloodwork and peeing test turn out ok. (i guess i have to worry about something to be able to function).

anyway: intersting remark of the doctor: i was the ONLY person in 2 days that had all the necessary vaccinations. i mean: it's a medical office where they do visa-medicals each morning. the whole office is reserved for the medicals. and nobody had all the vaccinations???? the embassy wrote in pack 3 and 4 that you are REQUIRED to have the vaccinations BEFORE the medical. ohmy.gif .
are people just more relaxed than i am, or am i just a controlfreak?
