I woke up this morning early like at 3am. Decided to check emails like I am always doing .......

There was an email from CRIS.....and I was like do I dare open it ... whistling.gif

There it was ...............

Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On February 20, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service

I was like OMGGGGGGGG............happy kicking.gif and crying.gif with JOY!!!!

So, I right away call my husband in Pakistan and to give him the good news. He was like Alhumdulilah!!! Alhumdulilah!!! Honey we got it....and I was like yes....he was like is that it ....LOL I was like No, but this obstacle is done,,,,,,,,,now on to NVC!!!!

We are both so happy just to get past this first hurdle after 8 mths. Alhumdulilah!!!!!!!

My husband is also getting ready for this step as well. The automated system stated that they would be sending him notification, so I take it that it would be the forms for Agent of Choice and the Ds230??

I am not sure if we will be using the shortcuts or not, but we still have to get the documents together. I am a bit anxious, because no matter how much reading/research I do on this.....I just want to make sure we send everything needed in.

I read somewhere that said ...........to send original or certified copies.... I think it would help to go to the flowchart and/or Wiki.....maybe that would help us.

Our case was finally approved on Feb 20th after waiting 259 days mad.gif but I called the NVC number yesterday and was I ever so happily surprised about having a case #. They said it was put into the system on March 5th. so I would just keep checking the automated system.

My mind just goes crazy, and I have to call my wife immediately! I couldn't wait to use the free office phone, but instead I call her on my cell phone with the super roaming charge while at offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. We just got into an argument yesterday, and she was crying. The approval instantly solves our problem after I call her, and it even brings us closer to each other. At least, USCIS does something good today.

Sorta a quirky question for some members that have gone through this process-

What has been the average time waiting to receive the "MYSTERIOUS ENVELOPE" from USCIS with regards to an RFE - I mean one week, one month, one year??? I dont want to seem impatient after the fiasco for waiting for an NOA1 - but was wondering.

Told my lawyer in between my work and sleeping that if not received by Monday October 10th, to call them cause I am not buzzing that number anymore, and with an RFE on both applications, something is missing -

Cheers and look forward to comments on wait time.

Our DS-3032 & AOS bill was also sent out on March 17th, so I should receive the AOS bill either tomorrow or Friday( I hope)

I already told my husband the documents that he needed to be getting together for the DS-230. I hope our NVC journey goes a bit smoother than uscis. Insha Allaah!!!!

We received an email today from NVC about choice of agent and it states>>

The NVC has received the Agent of Choice selection.

The Immigrant Visa Application (DS 230) processing fee bill will be sent to the designated
agent (petitioner) on the case.

So does that mean it is being sent now or what? I called NVC automated system, but it hasn't been changed yet from last weeks msg, so just wondering how that works. I have the NVC flowchart printed out and right here next to me pinned to my calander, but still a bit confused

Maybe cause we are waiting for the AOS bill to enter system, and that is one part of the process going on.........and the other is that the choice of agent has been accepted so now, they sending me the IV bill correct. That can happen before the I 864 is generated and sent out.....correct?

I would hate to try and keep up with more than one petition.......ughhhh, cause I can't even keep up with this one wacko.gif

We just have to have so much Patience for this long visa process. It took us 259 days just to be approved, so I know how it can get very aggravating. Just have faith and pray that soon, you will be together soon.

I know that this past year....has given us many ups and downs, but as husband and wife......we have grown so much stronger in our marriage. I can't wait to have him home and seeing our new place and starting our lives together...under our very own roof. We are very lucky as well to have such a supportive family and as well as friends here at VJ.

All my fellow VJr's are in my prayers and that soon, we will all be reunited with our loved ones...insha allaah!!!

Update on our IV fee bill ..........

I called the bank today and guess what ?! Our Cashiers Check for our IV fee bill was FINALLY cashed on 4/30/2008. kicking.gif
Honestly, I was freakin out about it cause, I didn't send it certified or anything...I just put a stamp on it and off it was sent. I don't know what the heck I was thinking........but I am so glad to hear that our check was finally cashed.

Now, I can't wait to hear that the DS230 was generated, so that we can get it sent in and hopefully in a few weeks or so, hear that our case is complete........Insha Allaah!!!!!

I am so upset with myself right now mad.gif mad.gif !!!!!!!!!

I received the IV fee bill on 4/10 and got the money together to send it out ASAP!!

Well, I have been following the NVC Online Payment topics and I read about some of the glitches and didn't want to take the chance of it not working for us. So, I sent out our IV fee on 4/14 and the darn cashiers check has yet to be cashed sad.gif and I have called the bank everyday this week to see if cashed and as of this morning.......still NO!!! I did call NVC and spoke to a csr and the guy told me to wait btwn 10-15 business days to hear something about it being cashed.

Now, I was reading how many VJr's used the online payment tool and had no issues at all. I could really kick my own a$$ right now. I should have waited a few more days.......but nooooo I just had to get in a huge rush and get it sent out mad.gif



Just aggravated today......

I got the same false RFE after the I-864 was cleared at NVC on 04/28. They are asking for DS-230; that's all. NVC even sent me the RFE on 04/29 by mail asking for "MISSING DOCUMENT LIST, OF-230."

The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support form (I-864) for this case. However, we are still waiting for the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230).

Hopefully, by Monday, you can call the operator to clear that issue up. Good luck!



I got this same msg around May 1st and it was for missing info. It's are DS230 and I received our checklist today. I know that our I-864 was also fine and complete. So, just waiting on husbands documents to send off next week.
