K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Supporting documents in K1 Visa Application	And here is how the confusion begins. He is submitting an I-129f petition, NOT a K-1 visa. 1. A personal check is acceptable for the I-129f petition fee. It is not acceptable for a K-1 visa fee but that is not what he is paying. Petitions and visas are not the same thing. 2. Emails not needed for a petition, no proof of ongoing realtonship needed for a petition, only proof of meeting in person. 3. dates do not matter. YAY~~ U have been second guessing my papers since waiting to receive NOA2--worried because I did not include emails or chatlogs. Only evidence that we met with pictures included. Is he pushing to marry you in order to avoid military service because he believes there is an exemption for marrying a foreign spouse? What is your age difference? What is your religions? Do you share a common language? How many times have you met in person? For how long was the visit? How long have you known each other before marriage? Are you of child bearing age? Do you have children from a previous marriage? Have you met his friends and family? What do they think of your relationship? Have either of you been married before? How many times? Are your prior marriages finalized? Has he been petitioned before by another USC? Have you petitioned for an immigrant before? What is your education level compared to his? What do you two have in common? I'm sure others can think of more red flags and some will dismiss some of the red flags mentioned because it didn't apply to their case in their situation. YMMV. Just follow this forum...be patient --you see the timelines and vermont is being notoriously behind(around 6-7 months)Remember..they do not work on the weekends so do not count those days as part your wait.(makes a huge difference) and also makes you feel better comparing those numbers. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Well this is my second time around for K1	We hello to all and Salamu alaikum ....I have been on VJ since 2005...To properly introduce myself I thought I might give a short background in hopes for good advice in the future. I am a USC and I was married to another USC when I was 16 back in 1996. We were married for 5 years and divorced after being separated for another 5 years(in 2005). We have a 15 year old son together. I found a man online by chance via yahoo messenger (Islamic Chat Room)in December 2004, we fell in love and we applied for a K1 - Egypt - June 2005. He was approved, moved to the US in December 2005 and we were married for 6 years. We are almost finished with our divorce process and he has already become a USC. We have a lovely daughter together and there are no hard feelings. While not looking for love I found my true soulmate in an Yahoo Islamic chat room back in November of 2011. We have been inseparable ever since that first talk. I have visited him over 3 times in Egypt over the last six months and we are officially engaged. My plan is to apply for the K1 visa again and pray for a speedy process. I am not uneducated so I know exactly what I am putting myself through again, but I simply cannot live my life without this wonderful man. We are only 1 year in age difference and he has never been married before. As stated above I have been married twice for lengthy periods of time and with legitimate reasons for the marriages to have ended. I have read about others in my similar situation and am asking advice and tips that may help us when we are able to finally file our K1. I have two children and my family is looking forward to having my Fiance here with us to complete our lives together. I have a great job so support will not be an issue. I know there are mixed opinions about multi K1 visas but honestly I did not truly plan on putting myself through this process again but when you stumble across a man who fits every dream that you have ever prayed for its hard not to give it everything you have. My heart aches without him and my children have grown to know him and love him dearly. He is kind, respectable and has treated me and shown me what real love feels like. We are of the same religion and share many of the same goals. Anyway my question is actually for advice on those who have been in this similar situation and if you have any special advice for us to help us avoid any mistakes. We have many boarding passes, passport stamps, receipts of spending time together, photographs with family and friends in Egypt. Screen shots of us online with my children and family, text messages everyday, emails back and fourth, cards and love letters from both, and more. We are hoping to send off the K1 in early July as we are gathering all required documents. We know that we are looking at at least a 8 month wait. I got married in the Philippines in January of this year and I needed to go the US embassy to get the affidavit of legal capacity to contract marriage but I ALSO needed to go to the NSO to get a cenomar in my name before I was allowed to get married! But no I have never heard of a USC needing to get one for a K-1 visa application. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Lagos CR14 interviews	Each embassy has its own allotted slots for CR-1 interviews and K-1 interviews, so K-1 applicants can't take a cr-1 slot and vice-versa. And also the NVC operators are just reading a script when they tell you they only schedule on the 2nd week of each month. The NVC schedules interviews all month long for both spousal and fiance visas. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Port of Entry and Connecting Flights	Upon arriving to the States on an International Flight with a connecting flight is my Fiance required or instructed to follow through to immigration with his unopened Packet-4 , or is he able to stay inside the airport and follow through to his next terminal/gate(connecting flight)and then surrender the Packet-4 at his final destination? Example: The Airlines/Flights leaving Mauritania only arrive at JFK (NY)or IAD (WA. D.C. Dulles) and his final destination is Raleigh. Will the Packet-4 be opened in JFK/ IAD or is it remained sealed until Raleigh, N.C.? I'm trying to get a better idea of the process and procedure. We rent a car and he was driving so I got a letter that we got a violation somehow and I guess it's a speeding ticket. Will that affect the whole visa process? I already got my police certificate ready to send to the embassy when the noa2 arrives. No, that would not affect your visa process because it is not a crime to be issues a speeding ticket. I have been doing this process all by myself I appreciate it ! the email is for a interview Hi To email the embassy about your case or petition you need to put your case number in the subject line in the introduction part if your message you include petitioner name and date if birth,benefiary name and date of birth, case number and country of eligibility then you address the embassy later about your inquiries. The introduction part is important. The rest is to be clear in your message so the reader can understand. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	had applied previousely with a diff date of birth	Well, to be factual many of my African brothers for some reasons have different date of birth and different names and knowingly they use this names and dates of birth on official documents at a certain point in their life and now it is catching up with them. If you have a document that proved that the error was not from you the embassy can overlook it. I have friends in Africa with different date of birth but they have an affidavit from the court testifying the change in the date of birth or names...I suggest you go to court and have an affidavit renouncing your old date of birth and aknowledge the new one. I don't know your reason behind that negative feeling but try to be positive. No one succeeds in any type of undertaking without confidence and positive thought. I came through JFK and connect to atl and I was able to call my wife in a business center there at the airport an also called her back on a pay booth.
