It took 15 business days for my case to be completed from the Day they entered the packages in system ( Both on the Same Day).

Send an original and a photocopy to the NVC to get the originals back at interview.

examples for AOS they say 30 days but takes around 20 business day

update on my case, 

I called NVC about my iv fees not invoiced

and she said they are still processing DS-261 which were filled on Jan23rd

 what the hell?   more waiting since mine was filled on Jan5th

.

Can some of the Indian VJ members who have submitted the IV package to NVC advise me whether it is a good idea to send the original Birth Certificate of the beneficiary to NVC? It is mighty hard to get another 'original' birth certificate from the corporation in Kolkata in case the original sent to NVC is lost.

Can we send a copy attested by a Gazetted Officer or Notary Public in India and carry the original Birth Certificate to the interview?

 

 

i was going to send original, but after reading post and 2  and ur questions i would rather send certified copies. 

 

You can send the certified copy. 

 

so by certified copy would be taking the original and photocopy to my bank manager and getting notarized. 

is that correct 

 

after reading more posts.

i guess i will send the originals and request them to be given back after interview.

Case update: Just received an email from NVC to pay the IV fee. wooohhooo at last!!!! thank you lord!!! 

 

congrats, we have similar timeline, hopefully mine is around the corner. 

 

 

 

Congrats.  I am still waiting for my to pay IV fee.  I called today and they said that they are working on approved DS-261 for 1/22.  So hopefully mine is coming soon.  It's been a month since I submitted my 261 and frustration just mounts.

i was told the exact same thing but then if u look at this guys timeline (ahnnel) he did his Ds262 on feb 7th

 

i dont know NVC does not make sense some times.

how can their lines be busy every day i mean isnt that what being on hold is for

what happens is their lines max out 

like example 

they might have 40 trunk lines  (so 40 people can talk, all at same time)

but when 41st person calls he gets engaged.  

 

thats whats happening 


Also, if your retired and basically self-employed at the same time does anyone know what to put on the I864? Not sure here??

When I called NVC, I was told it takes 10 to 15 business days for DS261 to be accepted. Mine was done on jan.30. Still no invoice for IV processing fee!


10-15 days. That's a lot.
Your going to be 15 days tomorrow. Please inbox me if u get notification about iv fees.

I am experiencing the same thing. Anyway, I just hope that eventhough its slow, it should atleat go smoothly (i.e without REFs, extreme delays etc)

Now I just need to get my wife's invoiced and I'll be ready to send my IV package, and wait for the DS-260 to be available dancin5hr.gif

iam still waiting for mine. NVC seems closed today, so hopefully some time this week for me smile.png

 

 

edit, after trying to call nvc the 22nd time , call went through and now iam o wait

thats bad service to put the message of bad weather and fooling people on not calling

I haven't replied to anyone about this as NLR said it perfectly. It's not required, no. If it was, as you said, it'd be posted on NVC's website. But, in most, if not all, cases, the CO has already made a decision on your case BEFORE you get to the interview. So, the thinking is, the more evidence they have beforehand (through the original I-130 submission as well as anything added afterwards, typically in the IV package), the higher the chances they'll approve it. But this is more important in high fraud countries. For places such as Canada and the UK, this isn't really needed as pretty much everyone gets approved, as long as everything is in order. But for MENA countries, it's best to send more evidence in the IV package as that's where the most denials come from. So, if you (the general you, not you specifically) want to submit more evidence, no matter what country, then go ahead. I can't see how it would hurt. And if you don't want to, then don't. Obviously, if you don't end up submitting anything more in the IV package, bring it with you to the interview, in case they do ask to see more evidence.

I called again, received the IIN. The operator also gave me the Beneficiary ID number.

 

The operator mentioned not to try to pay the fee until I get instructions from them, any suggestions or advice on that?

 

Case was received at NVC on 13/Jan/2014.

Case number and IIN assigned on 12/Feb/2014 

 

 

his correct, even though u have case number, u cant make payment

u should be able to make payment once it gets invoiced. 

 

and when Aos fees get invoiced they send a email, stating case can be further processed.

Thanks again for your insight. I just called the NVC to see if my original AOS package was scanned, still has not been. I asked him also about how I realized I made a mistake by using "adjusted gross income" instead of "total income", and I got the "answer I wanted to hear".

 

This guy was pretty detailed... he told me that I could either wait for a checklist or go ahead and submit the I-864 alone. He told me that they would first review my intial AOS package, and if I indeed entered the wrong info, they would send me an email with a checklist. THEN, they would review my next submission and find that I had already corrected it, and they then would send me an updated email confirming my package (if there is no additional checklist needed). He also reminded me to send the bar-coded cover sheet if I were to send the I-864 again.

 

His response gave me peace of mind, so I've decided to go ahead and resend my I-864, understanding that there could be anything else that could be checklisted. I figure that if for any reason I have something else that will be checklisted, then it would've happened whether I sent another I-864 or not smile.png

 

I wanted to share because I realize I'm not the only who has made this mistake, or maybe I can help others avoid stressing themselves out like I'm doing to myself!! content.gif

Whoa. I would have had this exact same issue - I have two years on the 1040EZ and most recent year on the 1040. I had no idea that year needed total income instead of adjusted gross like the other two. I hope it doesn't slow you down too much! 

hopefully the reviewer dont mind, or corrects the issue and hopefully no checklist, fingers crossed.

yes i was in this side because i did mistake on the affidavit of support and i mailed after that another AOS package...one got scanned in the system on January 30 and the other one on January 31 and i am waiting to hear from both of them good luck

We did, but I failed to realize I had filed a 1040 and not the 1040ez, so I need to use total income as I had originally thought and not adjusted gross income. Too much double-checking, I need to chill out! shocked.gif

we both are on the same boat, i sent my AOS few days back and made the same mistake 

i used adjusted gross but my accountant filles 1040 in 2011,  and 1040ez on other years

what is NVC checklist reviewing time. I know the NVC say 30 business but what is the real time. all the paper is ok only thing they are reviewing is employment verification letter and if my case get completed when do I expect my interview date (Mumbai Consulate)

So i got my police certificate however they have mentioned as Miss (first name) (last name). I have decided not to change my surname to my husbands. So is this document ok to be used or i will have to get it changed to Mrs. When i call them they are saying that they give the certificate based on the martital status on the passport.I am using the same passport which i had before marriage. Kindly share your thoughts on this. Thanks.

because in India they give our PC on ur passport name , and ur passport is still using ur old name

I called so much while our case was at NVC I started knowing the agents on a first name basis. We were not flagged for anything. I found all the agents I dealt with were all very friendly, some even had a personality. 

same here i called like everyday and nothing happened or never delayed my case.

Unless you're using assets to qualify and have filled that section out on the I-864, you don't need it. If you are, you'll need to include bank statements as well, not just a letter. Anyone can write up a letter.

You don't need the AOS receipt from the payment portal; just the bar-coded cover sheet.

 

And you only need the tax RETURN transcripts. The account ones are pointless.

 

What's the letter from the bank about?

is showing my average balance for last 6 months and the current balance.

 

I wanted to send it, since i have had a really high balance.  

and i though it would help since i did not make enough in 2011, 2010, i made well enough in 2012.
